I like Craftsman, since i am here in the USA (i am a german engineer and here since dec. 2006) i always bought Craftsman and used the hell out of it, i was never disappointed, even when i broke a 1/4" ratchet, no questions asked, they gave a 1/4" Craftsman Pro ratchet as replacement. BUT: if they choose to go this way, they will end up just like the Chrysler company....And i will choose another path which i prefer not to go, going back to german made tools. Don't get me wrong, i love Snap-on,.(which my best friend in Germany exclusively uses since years, he owns a bike shop, independent HD shop) Matco, etc.., but for the price i pay for snap-on i get Hazet, Gedore, Stahlwille, and my favorite (swiss made) : Kraftwerk. They've been around for a long time and i know, the only selling reason IS: QUALITY, if they would step back, nobody would even think about buying them. Who can tell me for sure that snap-on wouldn't go the same way as Craftsman (perhaps) does.....??? I am a loyal customer, but when i know i have to switch the brand every couple of years because the quality goes down the drain, i prefer to stay on the safe site.....
I don't want to choose between: craftsman evolv, craftsman basic, craftsman, and craftsman pro....all i ask for is to know: it's craftsman, it's quality...(Guess that's my wishful thinking and the past....)
Just my 2 cents....
