I don't care where they make as long as they spec it correctly. China makes some great stuff when the company outsourcing specs it correctly. Craftsman should make a budget line and a pro line and nothing in between. They should call them craftsburgh and crafts-on haha. USA made means nothing now that we can make junk in USA too. It's all about specs now. I saw craftsman rebranded some knipix which I think is an awesome direction unless they speced it differently which they probably did. Good tool and easy warranty is what I like. Tool buying is such a challenge these days. I like snap on using irwin rebrand taps that are usa made but not hanson usa quailty from years ago hence junk. Craftsman will be junk like all the other companies since it will all be outsourced to the same place but there names will stay around. Look at what happened to the vise industry when you make a good product. Who is going to by a Milwaukee jack when you an buy dozen for the same price. It's a lose lose with tools unless you make cheap useable junk.

I don't have any issue with the Craftsman screwdrivers bending. I usually end up wearing out the tips because I use them as scrapers (even though I know I shouldn't). Not sure how you bend them unless using them as a pry bar.

craftsman pro was never a big seller, they have the evolv low end line and craftsman their mid line. These are the lines that they sell most. The only big craftsman pro stuff were the screwdrivers. Not to many people brought the craftsman pro for more money over the RP stuff. The high end goes for the armstrong, proto, snap on, matco, wright stuff.

Wouldn't all that shipping of such very heavy items be just as expensive as doing EPA-compliant hexavalent chromium here?Here's a possible solution to bad Cman finishes:
- Create the tool here
- Ship to China or Taiwan for chrome plating and finishing
- Ship back to sell

There were not to many craftsman pro pliers out there, just couple here and there. They had the craftsman pro adjustable, nice one. But they were just cushion handle of the regular ones. And the only pliers out there are the precision pliers and their asian made vise grip pliers not.

I've got a large needlenose, diagonal cutters, and lineman's. Never compared them to regular Craftsman, maybe they sell the same ones without the cushion handle. Great tools though, use them every day and always happy with them.

They are nice stuff the older craftsman pro stuff. But there are not to much left form their pro line left. If they were more successful against the high end lines. I am sure they would have a much larger pro line up. But they were more expensive and did not sell as well.

You must work mainly on new stuff. I bend or snap the tips off flat head screwdrivers constantly trying to remove screws while working on old stuff.
