First off that is a hell of a garage space you have there and look foward to the outcome

But atm i am more intrested in that house:rocker:
It looks very nice and the land plus the pond would cost an absolute fortune over here
May i ask the guide price for a place like that?
I would love to move to the states and is a dream of mine, i have been over there a few times and alothough i do struggle to like US tv:D, its a place i never what to leave!
Trouble is im a soild fuel engineer so whould need to live somewere cold lol:sad:

All I can say in regards to the price of homes is location location location. In parts of the US this might be a million dollar home. But here in Northern Wisconsin it's not even close. Let's just say I paid close to the national median home price.:rocker:

I don't plan on using that 120 plug when the 220 is in use and I have a 20mp gfi adaptor I was thinking of using although I suppose I could just use a gfi outlet instead. I try to be safe and smart - notice one of the 3 fire extinguishers in the garage.

Thanks for following my thread and calling me out on my ****!
I think if you're really open to the comment, you would put this post in the thread.

The people on the board, who are much smarter than me when it comes to electrical, would say that you can't make these kinds of configurations "for you" and that "you'll know when not to use X with Y" or the like because the NEXT owner won't have any idea. Even if you have a visitor who accidentally does X and Y together, you'll have a problem which a fire extinguisher should not be the answer to... nor a tripped breaker/GFCI.

I know it's more work to run another leg from another circuit, but it is really the right thing to do here. Probably another hot and neutral as I'm not sure if you can even share the neutral from the 220 outlet.

I got a little time in garage last night. First up was the air dryer.

Its a "new to me" unit so I pulled it apart and give it a cleaning and once over.

Sorry but I forgot to take an after picture at this point.

Then I wired in the air compressor

And here is picture with it plumbed to the dryer.

If you notice the gapping hole on the compressor head thats where I removed the air cleaner to give myself room hooking up the electric to the pressure switch. And of course I forgot to put it on when I got to the test and photographing stage, but its back on now.

Once I got everything hooked up and turned on I discovered the dryer seems to run continuously. Does anyone know if that's the way it is suppose to be? I am going to have to do some research. If it is correct I think I want to install a flow valve so it only runs when I am using air. Somewhere I think I have one laying around for a water application - would that maybe work here? Also, the drain scared the **** out of me. It's set up on a timer to purge for 5 seconds every 45 minutes and the first time it went off I jumped 5 feet!:yikes:

And since I know everyone loves photos here is one of what I woke up to this morning.

No it's not an illusion. This is a two-stage compressor meaning the air is compressed first in the larger cylinder before being compressed a second time in the smalle cylinder aka the second stage.

I'd heard of two stage compressors before, just didn't realize they would be different sizes. Makes sense though as it'd take more compressions (cycles) of the first to fill the second.
