Since, according to ducksface, many people on GJ refuse to feed him breadcrumbs, I'll go ahead and start the generosity thread. I'll offer up a full set of full polish USA K-D SAE combos. Very nice set, very slightly used. They are the ones on the left in the pic. Sorry but it's the only pic I have access to right now and I won't be at my shop until later today. I'm looking for a youngster in mech/tech school, or headed that way, or just out of school, or in an apprenticeship that can really use them.

Based on what I've seen here, I think the GJ community can do great things for the younger generation itching to get their hands dirty. Post up what you have to pass on, as well as when you claim things in this thread for all to see, not via PMs, until shipping info is exchanged. It'll be very nice to watch who posts things up and who claims them. So, K-D SAE wrenches looking for a good home!!

just a suggestion but maybe if you would like one of the items you could first tell us a little about yourself and why you need such and such a item and also some photos of your current setup
also if you only been here for a day and have one post red flags are goner be raised
but i think this is great honest community for the most part and this should do well

I have up for grabs a nice standard Snap-on tape. And since there has been heated debate about which ones are the best and who really needs them, I thought it would be perfect.

I do not need a sob story for you to get it. If you say, you need it, I believe you.

Agree Tank. If you're claiming an item, do as Tank suggests. Tell us about yourself, your situation, and it would be very beneficial to show your setup. Remember, it's not necessarily the first guy to call "dibs" that gets the item, it's completely up to the offerer as he/she is the ultimate "deciderer." (I love that word):D

Cool BTM. If I didn't have 15 or so laying around the shop (none of which I can ever find) I might scoop it!

I have the same prob. I seem to miss place them, then buy new ones. I happen to have 3 of these. Love them though.

I'm glad this thread is moving. I tried this a couple months ago and it went nowhere. I'll have to look and see what I have to post up. Good to see unused tools get a new home where they are needed.

BTMSUP,
I could use the tape measure since honestly all I have is freebie promo ones from banks that are 10 ft long...lol. But if someone more "needy" needs it, let it go to them.

I have a box of 'old'/duplicate tools in storage that I will exhume and go through when I have a chance.

Well, I do have a nice Stahlwille 435QR 3/8 ratchet I'd really like to give to a new mechanic or someone starting just building a toolset.

I have given things to another member here who in turn has sent me a couple of nice surprises. I'll look and see what I might throw up for general consumption.

Consider that an afternoon bump.

I could use the ratchet if you don't mind shipping to the USA. I only have cheap non professional ratchets and need to build up a set for auto tech school this upcoming fall.

I'm 20 years old in school right For Diesel Technology at a state college in NY. I could give those K-D wrenches a nice home. I have a very nice set of metric wrenches but I lack in standard. Money has been tight for me as my DD has died and am currently trying to get a new set of wheels. I'll give these wrenches a good home in my HF 44".

This is a great thing you guys are doing. I just hope people are honest when they claim items on here and actually need them and not taking advantage of other's generosity.

Agreed on all points JDon. When someone asks for an item I've posted, I usually spend 5 minutes or so reviewing their previous posts, just to kinda check to see if they may or may not really need tools. Not an exact science or in-depth research, but a quick once over.

The set of U.S.A. K-D SAE FP wrenches are off to a student in NY. Don't let this thread die! Post up your generous offerings!

This is a great idea! I am just starting out building up mechanic tools, but have a fair amount of home owner/contractor tools. I'll see what I have extra of as well

I have some extra 3/8" drive metric sockets for someone. I would like to give all of these to someone who could use them, and hopefully needs them (and not just send them to ebay), but I am not going to check out references or anything. Send me a PM if you are interested and I can put them in the post.

I am going to bed now, so please don't expect an answer until tomorrow at some point.

Metric 3/8" drive sockets, from 8m to 19mm. Craftsman USA. The shallow set is 6-point while the deep set is 12-point. The 19mm shallow is a Stanley USA and the deep set has a few Blue Point sockets in there (looks like 8-9-11 by the photo). Nothing fancy, just good solid sockets in lightly used condition. Please excuse all the fingerprints in the photos!

Bump. I am amazed at how little action this thread is getting based on peoples thoughts on the PIF rules thread. Everyone wanted a give your stuff to those that need it thread, and here it is not being taken advantage of. (Steps down from soap box)

Stay up there BTMSUP. I too am amazed. Someone must have uttered "put up or shut up," and the GJ community of tool hoarders heard only the latter portion. SAD

I ended up trading this Fyr-Fyter Fire Extinguisher to ducksface for his Blue Point Calipers.

Maybe this can help somebody out?...

No they're not Snap-on but they are brand new, never used. 1/2" drive impacts, metric & SAE shorts and deeps

well i think most people here are well off enough to get their own stuff. there just aren't that many young people starting out or needy folks on here. i guess that is a good thing.
