I need help. After finding out that I was SOL on ordering two sets in green, I finally bought them in red. I took delivery on tuesday, I actually used a few of them today. Well tonight I found both sets on ebay in green for less money. Of course being the green fanboy that I have become, I buy them. Now I have to sell the red ones, at a loss. Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY! Green is like crack, I don't know why, but it is. I am now officially refusing to buy any tool from the Snap On guy unless it is green or all chrome.

any paint supply place, Take the PPG code on the label to them and they can mix it

Have you tried that?
I have not yet...but word on the street is that it cant be done? :dunno:

If someone takes a good pic of the rear label showing the Extreme green code...I'm game to see if my PPG shop can do it.

Next time I'm down at that end of town...i'll see if I cant get something mixed up.
:rocker:

Buddy works at a paint supplier said its no issue

I couldn't see why it couldn't be mixed either, especially when you go to a PPG Shop, and SO provides a PPG Code...If you google up the code, its easy to find and yet, most threads end with "couldn't get it"...
I kinda believed it...when I got the black mixed for my EPIQ work table, it took em a while of clicking to get it...and it ended up being a Ford Black....

My New/Current quest is finding some Vinyl in a color close to Extreme Green...

Other then buying the spray bomb from snap on, who else has a green spray paint the same as the SO but cheaper?

Grabber Green (Krylon, Dupli Color, etc.) is similar. Not the same, but close. If you're not putting it right next to Extreme Green, it should be a suitable (cheaper!) option.

I might have gotten a bad can...as I did buy it at a discount outlet...but I bought a can of the DupliColor Grabber Green thinking that...I painted up a HF Screwdriver tray with it, and wow...not even close. much too dark...was my impression.

the color will change with whats under it, usually a good coat of tinted primer will help for sever color changes

Oh I'm well aware...I build model trucks (Semi truck) as a hobby and I often times play with the outcome of finish coats with various primer coat colors..

I have a few more questions for the green crowd.

Can the striking cap prybar handles be replaced? If so do they have a green handle part number?

Can radiator picks and other types of picks have the handles switched, or are they glued on?

No. Not a replacement item from Snap-on

These handles can be swapped with just about anything. of similar size.

Good to know about the handles.

I bought a set of long green picks SGLASA204G and did not realize they were the older style black and green handles. Now I kind of like them, I may keep them, my OCD is strong! I guess keeping them will be good practice for when there is no green option.

I have ordered a bunch of new stuff, but I did not post any pictures of the current green. I also changed all my ratchets over to green comfort grip handles. I wish I had been able to take pictures of the process, but boiling water and my camera don't go well together.

Happy Green Drunk Day! Or whatever you call it.

I will update pictures tomorrow night, but man was it a green day for me! I went to another shop and hooked up with a different Snap On driver, what a difference. Things that were not available from the other driver, are easily available from this driver. Now I need to make a list of everything green that I want and see what he can track down. He was also a wheeler dealer type, I am that way too.

I thought for sure there would be green promo stuff, but the two drivers I talked with said that they would not even ship until this Thursday, so they decided not to order any. I guess I can understand that.

Let's see your green!!!!!!!!

nice, 3 sets of adjustables tho? crazy.

Exactly....7 ratcheting screwdrivers? That's 6 too many.
Without sounding like an *** it looks like you are more focused on collecting green tools to display rather than having some green ones that you use

Re: The Green Tools ****

Tarpley, what is with all the duplicates and triplicates? I am a little green with envy.

I buy them when I see a good deal on them. Some have come from the tool truck, pawn shops, Ebay and garage sales. One day I will sell them all and move on to something else.

You are correct. I like to collect green tools. It's a hobby and I enjoy it.

I have around 6 ratcheting screwdrivers as well. Keep one inside the house, one in a jobsite tool bag, one in my truck bed box, and a couple in the garage. To me they're one of those items that it's so simple to have several in use. Sure beats having to run back & forth to the garage, etc. or make sure it's always packed in a bag or box if I'm on a job, etc.
