:bounce: That's what I get for following the wrong thread . . .

MD 11 has you covered.

Those are nice. Are you making a punch set, or just a couple of different sizes sold seperately.

Have a look at page 4 of The Punch thread that MD11 has linked to for all the details!

Some tools fall under the category of "Need" and other fit into a broader category called "Want"

UPDATE

I'm finishing up the next group of hammer heads this afternoon and preparing them for etching.

I still have some hammers available in this group. If you'd like a personalized hammer from this group I need to know by tomorrow afternoon when I etch the heads.

Another group of frosty hammers!

I just finished fitting these with Liquid Nitrogen. When the frost thaws I'm going to install the face mounting screws and then this group will be done!

A New Face for "The Hammer"

Over the weekend I took a trip to my local motorcycle dealer to see what was new. The chief mechanic and I talk bikes on a fairly regular basis. I also brought along "The Hammer".

A discussion ensued and needless to say he found "The Hammer" very impressive. I have a feeling he will be buying one in the near future to add to his collection of engine repair tools.

During the discussion he mentioned that an extended face for "The Hammer" would be perfect for installing pistons and meshes perfectly with the precision nature of "The Hammer". I agreed completely and set to work making a sample.

Here is the first Piston Installation Face:

Pistonface1.jpg

Specifications:

Length: 4.0"
Material: Nylon
Diameter: 1.2"
Reach (Total distance from striking face to hande) : 4.5"

The Piston Installation Face is priced at $24 each plus $4.95 USPS Flat Rate shipping.

This thread is a perfect example of what happens when you give a man a lathe who already has to much free time and material on his hands...

Now when are you uploading some new video's? :bounce:

To answer a question I have received from several members: It is more than sufficient in length to reach though the majority of motorcycle and automotive ring compressors without becoming unwieldy. You can measure the depth of yours ring compressor and compare it to the reach of the Piston Installation Face if you're uncertain.

It also has great feedback. There's no mistaking a ring hung up on the cylinder mouth with "The Hammer". It's such a bummer to crack a ring.

I've sold a lot of the last group of hammers in the past few days, but I still have a few left.

Besides the USA, "The Hammer" is now in England, Switzerland and Australia.

John, glad to see hammer sales are strong. Do you have enough orders of the punch yet to begin production by chance? :bounce:
