haha sure enough I came out with something else lol I got the 10" orbital polisher and the mircofiber clothes & a 27 mm 1/2" impact socket.
Everything is a pass so far.

polisher Item # 43424
microfiber clothes 68440
27 mm socket 67790

Hmm question so this polisher came with the terry cloth and fiber maybe it's me but should they fit around the whole foam pad? some sides are higher up then the other it seems like it's a size too small or something..

My guess is they are using those 9-10" bonnets.

The clearance ones? Yeah it's hard to pass those up. At the price they are might as well grab as many as you can.

Are you talking about the pack of 12? No they were sold out.. I was looking for them oh well :-/

Anyways got to use the polisher today and it works great however the included bonnets are NOT the correct size for the 10" it's like an inch too small and you are fighting to put it on.. so don't go by HF's 9-10" sizing..

I went out to walmart and picked up a 2 pack of microfiber bonnets and a foam one and they both fit with ease.

tool works very nice and it cuts down the doing by hand big time.. it has me very spoiled now!

I have to learn to use less wax on the pad when starting because after letting it sit for awhile it still was pushing wax around.. had to switch over to a clean bonnet and it started picking up.

Looking good!

I got that same one last year when it dropped to 10 bucks, it does spoil you and even if it lasted 10 times it would be worth that dollar it cost you each time, no doubt about it.

The bonnet that came with it was laughable but who am I to complain at 10 bucks,
I've already spent that in good bonnets!!

Wow it was $10 last year? Haha wished I would of known :p You know it was funny I was polishing the car and I was smelling something like popcorn cooking and I was thinking to myself wow someone is cooking popcorn on an open flame.. Lol turns out it was the motor just getting warm nothing bad happened but I was wondering if it would heat up after some use.

Might be using it again tomorrow or Monday.. I kinda started a little late today so around the time I was done it was starting to become dusk so I was unable to do the other car.

And yeah the new bonnets fit much better, but what I do notice is the on/off switch is easy to hit and toggle off and on.. a little annoying.

Has anyone noticed the high prices at HF these days?! Even the sale prices are not a bargain, considering the products are inexpensive, non-branded products made in China. Kind of shocking. Their claim of "ridiculously low prices" is unmoored from reality.

has anyone had any experiences with the impact reducers ?

i bought the 3 pc set. i am going to test the 1/2f to 3/8m.
i don't see it lasting. but for $5 for the set, that is ok. i would just warranty it, then leave it at home.

item 67994 1/4" and 3/8" Drive x 14-3/8" Double Head Flex Ratchet Wrench. paid $30 for it full price in store

at 1st, i was hesitant to drop 30 bucks on a hf ratchet. so i passed on it. the following week i counted a few times wher ei felt owning this tool may have saved time aggravation--mostly on tight fitting accessory belt tensioner locations. so i went back and bought it.

been using it for over a month now as needed with no complaints. i dont use it as a main ratchet or anything of that nature. mostly use it as a serp belt tool. so far so good.

pass so far and recommend for light duty use-- i.e. not to use as a breaker bar or a ratchet that you exert a ton of tq on. im sure there will be a day where i will have to abuse this tool and find it's weak spot.

I'll have to grab one then next time it goes on sale, I wasn't impressed with their regular ratcheting wrenches so I shy'd away on this one, good to know, thanks!

The sale prices haven't been as good and when they are they've been few and far between. Example, 3 ton jackstands that run normal $19.95 have been on sale for $14.95 a lot this year but have only been $12.95 twice and $9.95 once. Last year you could get them nearly every other weekend sale for $14.95 and over five times they were $9.95 both ITC and super saver coupons. I've noticed the same thing with:
Hand pump vacuum brake bleader
Benchtop blanting cabinet
Both the 110 amp and 120 amp Mig welders
750 lb engine stand
1 ton foldable shop crane
Welding helmet
4" angle grinder
Hydro motorcycle sissor lift
These are all things we picked up last year and I've noticed only once, maybe twice the prices were as low as I paid and some things haven't made it that far.

Almost a year ago non sale prices made a HUGE jump, like 50% or more in some cases. HF every other flyer or so has "sale" prices that are little or no discount from regular prices. You just have to track prices a bit until you get a feel for whats a SALE and whats not.

Evaporust was $19.95 and went up to about $28, plenty of other examples.

they were with the ratchets. when i got mine there were only 2 left and it was easy to look over them. i actually did at 1st but found them by looking for the tag that they hang from. as the actually tool body was shielded by the other tools hanging on the peg board wall.

I have used one of these for about two months now. I like it, and (as you stated) while it isn't a breaker bar, it is incredibly convenient.

I would like to see one in this style that is a little heavier duty but that would just temp me to abuse it

At the local HF store, these are hanging with all of the other ratchets, above/next to the socket sets. While you're there, get the fixed smaller version too, it will save you a trip.

Both are a definite PASS ! ;)

I am cross-posting this in an airless sprayer thread I had posted in, but I needed to share because this is a big PASS.

So my weekend project was over. I ended up spraying 5 gallons of dryfall paint on steel trusses and 6 gallons of wall paint on cinder block that was previously painted.

The Harbor Freight airless sprayer worked amazingly. Did not have a single problem, single hiccup, or anything with the unit. I am actually very impressed with this unit.

5/8 Horsepower Airless Paint Sprayer Kit

I couldn't be more happier. Not sure why I did not buy one of these a long time ago instead of rolling, lol.

I have also noticed that some of their hardware "kits" have been made smaller at the same price.
110 copper washers is now 80
420 SS screw kits are now 320

Those are the only 2 I have noticed so far, but I don't expect the trend to stop....

Funny part is, I get 2 different versions of their monthly catalog, one as an ITC member and one not. While the ITC version has more coupons, the better deals are often found in the non-member catalog!

The best prices (on tool cabinets, etc) are often found in the magazines.

Don't use a tap or die to chase threads, use a thread chaser or restorer. Taps and dies cut on EVERY pass, a chaser doesn't cut it reforms the threads, bends them back into the proper shape.

thanks man; pulled the trigger today
paid a whopping 65 dollars; they kept asking if i was sure i wanted the expensive one:lol_hitti

no problem.

the guy at work had the cheap one, it broke in about 1 month. he bought the earthquake and was using it for a while and said he liked it. so i bought one.

btw. just to not overload it. i adjust it to about 3/4 power. and i don't use it to break things loose. but it really does tighten **** down very well.

I bought a fantastic , USA Made, thread chasher set, from costco.com

I forget what I paid, but Costco can't be beat, when you consider their generous return polocy.

Too late, I just checked, no longer listed. Might come back

I have noticed that a lot of items that are no longer available online are still available in stores. Like the Arcan jacks. I'll have to check on my next trip. Thanks for the heads-up.

i did two waterpumps today and it did a fantastic job breaking the everything free, how do you adjust the torque though?
the reactionless feature is really nice as well, ive always hated the way normal air ratchets bind

it depends how buggered the threads are, at home im chasing holes where the bolts were torched out; or full of dirt and rust, id rather tap it
at work the fastners are much cleaner and better and i have a restorer set, and it does a fantastic job and was only 70 bucks(comes on sale for 60); really saves the bacon when you need them  cheers to having one of everything:)sears thread restorer

i have yet to use it, i only need it a few times a year = tough pinion nuts.

but, in the mean time. i have been using the 1/2f to 3/8m. so far, so good.
but i have not "layed into it" yet.

oh

you guys that are having a hard time with the HONDA brake rotor screws.
i have broke many snap-on bits trying to get these loose.

the guy at work said he heats the **** out of em, then lets em cool a little. and they come right out with a regular screwdriver.

^ i drill the heads off with a unibit out of HF; once the head is off the rotor comes off and you can grab the nub and turn the screw out

They sell two different sets... this one and the one with the softer handle.

You mean this set?

http://www.harborfreight.com/3-piece-pry-bar-set-66840.html

That's not the set I'm talking about. The 4 piece set that used to be made in Taiwan and was decent quality has now changed manufacturers. Now it's made in India. Saw it for myself at the local store. Different box. Same item number. Same price and same location in the store.
