Got this last weekend and am in the process of filling it. The wheels are a little sketchy. Thinking of passing a few bolts through the top and bottom sections to unify the thing. I think it was $315 with coupon.
I just got the same box and am considering building a "tray" with outriggers made of welded up angle iron, removing the current casters, and then using better casters on the tray. I did something similar with my gas grill when the tiny hard wheels bit the shed.

Curious about unifying. I was considering running 4 bolts through, with washers, and lock nuts. Might help deter someone thinking of running off with the top chest.

Was your dented along the side bottom edge as well? :(

The large bearing separator I purchased must have been made out of 1018 steel. Maybe it was just the bolts that were made out of 1018 but it was bent after the first use. It bent like taffy. As far as pass or fail is concerned I say it is a failure.

Heavy Duty Tacking Gun is a Fail.

Bought two and my brother and I tried to use them for face stapling insulation. Really hard to press down. One of them would trigger only some of the time. The other one had intermittent failures. Ended up going out and getting a $20 Dewalt to replace the worse of the two. The new one was soon much better.

For those who own the 44" tool box: How much weight will the top drawer hold? Have you ever succeeded in overloading it? The user manual on the website claims it will only hold 80 lbs. That doesn't sound correct, but if so I might be upgrading sooner than I expexted.

You know it has two slides on each side right?
Should be rated higher than what the website says... I know they say 80.
Mine is packed with all my 1/4, 3/8, and half inch sockets, metric and SAE, regular and deep. Plus lots of ratchet handles, and extensions.
Gotta weigh over 100 but probably not 200.
Still slides open and closed from either end with one finger.

Anybody have any experience with the HF 1000 lb hydraulic lift cart/table?

I have one and I don't know how I got by without it. It's very well made. Takes about 25 pumps to full height. I did need to tweak the release a little, it was too slow. Getting too old for heavy lifting and this cart makes lifting or moving stuff around the shop a breeze. Great for unloading my truck too. Only down side is that you'll need one of these lift carts to unload the lift cart when you get it home. It's a heavy SOB. I have been using it for two years now and wouldn't be without it. It doubles as a work table too. Great for working on lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc. without sitting on the floor or picking them up to put them on a bench.

My only complaint was the smelly rubber mat. It started falling apart after about 6 months.

R&H:
Put some fabric over it and a fancy coaster to hold her coffee and a few books on top and slide it over next to her favorite chair for an end table! Might buy you a few more days. :bounce:

worked for me... (married 42 years)

I actually did two joins with this press and as usual the needed adaptor was not there. But I improvised a little and it worked well with an impact. I was extremely careful because the screw part is sloppy in the bore, so I greased the S*** out of it and used a little white lithium grease on the ball joint and made certain that the joint was started as straight as can be. Then used short and slow bursts with the impact and it seemed to work well. Bottom line.... Lotsa lube!
Yeah lubing it keeps the screw intact, but my issue was the frame. It bent, I know I did it correctly because they eventually came loose, but not before bending the frame. It will go in crooked every time after the clamp is bent.

I think I picked one up on some deal a couple years back for like 5 bucks and it literally lasted about 3 minutes before it wouldn't spin without having to roll it on something to get it started.

Should have known the low CFM meant it was **** to begin with.

I use either of these when using 6013 or 7018

Got to be a knotted wheel if you're not going to chip first. Never had luck with the HF wheels, they tend to throw wire even before you touch them to metal. Also make sure you have a face shield, nothing like catching some hot slag in your face to wake you up!

The 1/2" ID 50 foot air hose I bought today only measures only 7/16" ID. At least they took it back without question. Had bought the same 1-2 months ago and it was fine. Seems like they are hit or miss.

This isn't the most high quality out there, but for the price and the quantity that you get, it's a good deal.

1,001 Nut & Bolt Storehouse

http://www.harborfreight.com/1001-piece-nut-and-bolt-storehouse-67628.html

It has saved me countless trips to the hardware store over the last decade. I used some of the nuts/bolts on some projects just yesterday. I still have at least a couple of each item left. Again, the metal is kinda soft but for household repairs and such, it's OK. Haven't seen any of them break yet.

Drill Master - Item#96289 Heat Gun = FAIL

My first one lasted 10 minutes prior to smoking then stopping. The second made it through two uses before burning up.

I call FAIL on all Drill Master junk, which includes all Drill Master. I have only tried one Drill Master item one of the palm sanders, and it vibrated so bad it hurt my hands after just a few minutes use. I realize any sander like that is going to vibrate, but that thing was brutal. I took it back, and vowed "no more Drill Master". They are always cheaper than Chicago Electric, and there must be a reason.

OTOH, this heat gun is a PASS. I have had one now for a couple of years now with no problems, and have used it a lot. Before that I had the older orange colored one. It lasted many years, and was still working when I tossed it, but the ceramic supporting the heating elements was breaking up and falling out in pieces. That old one came as a kit, with several attachments in a blow molded case. Surprisingly the new model fits in the old case. The new one can not be turned off hot. It has a cool down cycle that prevents heat soak on the element, which is supposed to prolong life. Time will tell.

I second that. I got two and got really creative! I really wish some of the larger flex heads had the detents that these do.

My first post :)

#60338 portable generator(900 peak watt): FAIL
-3 different generators were bought, then returned due to leaks at the plug from a poorly manufactured head

#69381 portable generator (900 peak watt):pASS
-Same design and packaging, but clearly sourced from a different factory. There are visually identifiable differences, but the greatest difference is that it works and doesn't leak! So far I have over 10-hours run time in this model without issue

I made a video that tells what to look for to ensure you don't get the older problematic model(at least from the recent 60338 lot):

Interesting that the box specifications show "7 AMPS OUTPUT", and the decal on top of the generator says "DO NOT EXCEED 6.5 AMPS TOTAL MAX". :lol_hitti

So far my little generator is running well (12+ hours), but I do have my eye on the 2500. Good to hear you're having success with it.

I have had on of those grinders for 7 years. Got used occasionally for most its life til now. I recently started welding (mostly grinding[emoji12]) it has been great for me. I bought a second HF grinder with the paddle switch and 6 amp motor. While cutting some 4 inch channel I got a little kick and the handle busted off. But I got it retuned within 90 days and Im back at it. I would give either grinder a PASS
