I picked up two at Menards last night, $25 ea. One to set wherever needed and the other to replace a pedestal LED light, that tipped and broke.

Zowie! I had spots in my eyes, when I turned it on and was not even looking directly at it.

Not just bright, f-ing bright.

I'll check to see how they help an old guy see under a vehicle, today.

I went to buy four, I compared it to the 10,000 lumen(L) one they had on sale for 29.99. I noticed the 7,000L was like 65 watts and like 7,000+ kelvins(K) and the 10,000L was 110 watts and 5,000K. I figured more wattage means that much more light and I like the 5K color better. I plan to hang them on the ceiling around my lift and aim them at vehicle wheel areas. The two front ones I can reach up and turn them towards the engine compartment. I think I'll buy one more for under car or under hood work. https://www.menards.com/main/lighti...9-c-7546.htm?tid=-7119457219167727592&ipos=42

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. :lol_hitti

You guys are going to go blind :lol_hitti

Don't know if that purchasing from Menards is even an option here but this small LED light that they have along with those others being talked about is much better buy than the HF offering IMO

Bauer 1/4 inch impacting bit driver. For the coupon price - Pass. For around the house putz work driving screws and lags, it's been a great gun and packs a nice punch. Charge lasts a long time. I would not expect it to stand up to production use.

Pittsburgh 3/4 drive torque wrench - Pass for occasional use. I've had this for a few years and really only use it to torque lugs and preload wheel bearings. The calibration is still on the money. Again, I don't use it a whole lot.

Braun folding stick light. Major Pass. It's practically my right hand and I had to buy a second for my wife who kept swiping it.

Earthquake XT 1/2 drive stubby impact. Major pass. Super compact. Gets around practically everything, packs a nice punch and doesn't use a lot of air.

For those that have recently bought the 20 ton press, are the arbor plates cast or steel plate? Wondering if I should order the SWAG Offroad plates if HF is still selling these with cast arbor plates. Thanks

I have the #60603 HF 20 ton press. It came with cut steel plates. I can't speak for the other 20 ton press. The bolt together #60603 is the version preferred by many. I've done a lot if mods to mine and love it.

Awesome. That just saved me a lot. I had been reading some threads this afternoon that had posts (including yours) on modifications but wasn't sure what the current stock was like. I will have to add casters like I saw are on yours. Thank you!

Pickup this weld cart today, with coupon.

Solid as a rock. PASS.

From the way it was designed, packed and engineered for tight, simple assembly, Looks like those Chinese engineers, probably did not play much "beer pong", when they attended our Universities.

Was It A Regular 20% Coupon?
Or The Special welding coupon?

I really like it. it lifts my 03 ram 1500, my 71 f100, and my lowered 66 mustang with ease.

I just picked one up last Wednesday with the special coupon that was sent to my email for 15% off.

I like it. I still need to run my Mustang up on a 2x8 because it's so low, but it'll fit right under the Cobra no problem.

I donated my three ton that was fine to a deserving neighbor just to get rid of it....

Yeah but let's talk about that 3 ton long reach low profile Daytona ;) How do you like it? Is it worth the money? I'm waiting for the HF settlement gift card to get one, but I've had my eye on it for quite a while.

My buddy bought one on sale three weeks ago. It's lower than the Daytona model, has a high lift range, grease fittings on the pivot and wheels, and the foot pedal is nice as well. The only downside IMO is it's heavy as hell, but if you just use in rolling around the shop floor I guess that's not an issue.

FAIL: Red Harbor Freight 7 Function Multimeter

Got it free. It appears to be a random number generator, readings are meaningless. It is actually dangerous if you should make the mistake of using it to check for live circuits.

I have at least half a dozen of them. They all work just fine. I have an old Fluke meter to cross check them.

I use them for working on cars and household electrical.

They were all free so it's hard to complain, but... I'd like the leads to be longer and the dot on rotary knob painted to better indicate where it pointing (a dot from a sharpie works fine). I almost threw one away until I realized it was actually pointing 180 off of where i thought it was. ex: Ohms instead of AC volts.

Heck, I used a Harbor Freight digital auto gage from 30 years ago and used it daily until about 1.4 years ago when I switched jobs.

Lets face it there is going to be a few bad ones now and then with those multimeters. I have probably had my hands on more than a dozen of them easy, I do remember one going haywire on the readings another the leads broke. Both were junked

Whatcha gonna do :dunno:

I have good luck with them for voltage and ohms. I've gone through several and usually only have to get open a new one because the cheap leads wear out. Given several as gifts through the years too.

I picked up replacement leads on eBay and had good luck with the core unit itself.

Original leads have **** plastic that is too tight and breaks easily.

I've had no problems with mine. I have even used it this morning to help diagnose a battery problem. There are bound to be a few bad ones. I notice on them and my Northern Tool digit multimeters that the wires go bad. They test good but that Chinese copper coated aluminum wire doesn't hold up to long.

I bought a bunch of these some years back to use with my physics students. We were only working on DC circuits, not AC. Aside from the leads being low quality, they worked fine.

I bought them all on sale for $2.99. We could buy meters on state contract that were the exact same meter as the HF except in black, but on state contract they were $35 each.

I asked my principal if I could buy them at HF myself then get reimbursed by the school, explained why and he said sure. I couldn't see wasting the tax payers money paying $35 for a $2.99 meter.

I've found the meters turn into random number generators when the internal 9v battery is dieing. Since a replacement battery costs more than a free meter, I just move on to the next one.

That's what used smoke detector batteries are for.

You paid for them :shocking:

I flip 'em on my tool table for $7.00 a piece :lol_hitti

Yes. I couldn't wait until I got enough free ones to make a class set so I bought 15, I think. I also had a few Sperry meters, but for what we were doing, the HF worked good enough. I also had a bunch of analog volt meters and ammeters I taught them how to use.

Agreed.

I got one to use as a spare in my 4Runner last spring. It was free and worked fine when I got it home so I put it in the tool bag. Fast forward to the fall when I was trying to diagnose a no-start after work and the thing would not turn on. I’m guessing it was just the crappy HF battery. I open it up to replace the battery and it was a gooey mess inside. I guess a summer of AZ summer temps did a number on it. :bounce:
