It depends on what tools you need to store in it.

Mine is set up as follows, top to bottom:

1) screwdrivers, picks, brushes
2) pliers, cutters
3) ratchets, extensions, swivels, adapters
4) sockets
5) wrenches, hex keys
6) hammers, tap & die set, pullers
7) impact wrenches, grinders
8) TBD

Does anyone know the height of each drawer? I'm looking at getting one to replace a 30 year old craftsman box. The old box has less drawer but the shortest drawer is 2" high

I just picked up the 4 pack of black adjustable wrenches #63717...FAIL! The moving jaw part has a s-ton of play in the channel, and the adjustment knob flops around merely suggesting input to that movable piece. These will probably be relegated to the shed. Shame, since the reviews are very positive.

HF 7 Function Volt Meter #63604. Fail

I have two 7 function meters part #98025 that are OK for checking a car battery but the #63604 is made even cheaper. The #63604 will not take longer banana jacks that come on better test leads. The #63604 does not have Cen-Tech on the package or in the meter.
Yes, hard fail. I used one to test a wall wart (low voltage DC) and was getting a zero voltage reading. Hmm, I thought it was producing SOME voltage. Checked live wall outlet, nothing. Changed the battery, checked the fuse, only ohms worked. It was chucked into the trash.

This could have been fatal. Good thing I make a point of checking live voltage for a reading, then checking after once the breaker is tripped.

Yup. I had a cheap (not HF) meter fool me into getting tangled up with a live circuit over 30 years ago when I first began what turned into a career as a swimming pool and spa equipment technician. Two things changed for me that day, and those two things carried through to retirement. 1) Always buy good test equipment. 2) Verify when even good test equipment tells you that no voltage is present with the BACK of a hand or finger.

I've always used a test light. Meters are too slow and iffy, especially digital meters.

You can all thank me. I did the unthinkable. I used a $0.69 paintbrush from HF. It was one of the "professional" brushes with The thick semi transparent bristles. Coupon for

The good: it stuck together, no errant bristles pulling off. The bristles were stuff and stayed stiff while painting some small wooden pieces. It did put paint on wood.

The bad: stiff thick bristles don't hold much paint, I had to frequently dip for more.

Overall: Pass. In the context of a brush, it does the job. In the context of durability, it did not call apart.

Would I want to paint with it again, no. I would spend a few extra dollars to get a better product. For $0.69 I'm not going to complain.

BJ's Wholesale Club had a two-tube, 48", 5500 lumen unit on sale for $26 recently. And assembled in USA, to boot.

That was brave. I have a few of them laying around. They work fine for brushing dust off of small things. I've used them to brush various chemicals onto things and then just thrown them away when I'm done.

If you compress air, you can get more into a given space. Four gallons of air uncompressed, versus the same volume compressed to 125 psi, versus compressed to 200 psi. What they are comparing is how much volume of air will be released to atmospheric pressure from the tank if it was compressed to the higher pressure.

This is acutually a useful measure, like how many tires it will inflate.

How many tires would that be? :)

It almost reminded me of going to the store and picking up a 32 oz. bottle of catsup that has this wording boldly across the front of it

"30% more than our 24 ounce bottle!"

Harbor freight is forcing us to learn basic physics.

This is a PASS for me. Used it last weekend doing brakes on two cars, no issues taking off log bolts/nuts. A bit too big for caliper bracket bolts, but I used a swivel socket and it worked.

I got mine for $34.99 on the last "Tent Sale".

18" Bending Brake #39103 — PASS.

Got mine for under $40 with coupon. A lot of the reviews say you can't bend 16 ga. steel with it, but I had no problem. There are no clamps or attachment hardware for the brace/buck bar, so you will need to have your own clamps.

Also in that photo, there's a HF 1" belt sander on my workbench in the background. For $43 w/ coupon, it's another definite PASS. I use mine constantly for those little 15 second clean-ups on parts.

Anyone try the Merlin branded air fittings? I bought a air swivel 63575, I'll give it a try.

I bought a Merlin tire inflator. Bought it to replace a Milton that I returned to another store because it leaked. Badly.

Merlin inflator doesn’t leak and has a large, easy to ready indicator. So far so good.

Well got me a pair of the $19.99 Aluminum step work platforms yesterday, really good looking product. $42 with tax for two and took one of the small 40" x 50" moving blanket, a first time for me as my freebie. (I'll find something to with it)

I'll take with a grain of salt the 350 lb weight rating. But overall the platform seems to be quite stable with me jumping on it though only I'm about half of that limit :D

But I'm sure my GC bud could put it to test being he's closer to 300lbs mark lately :scared:

Bauer 15 Amp 70 lb Pro Breaker Hammer (Jackhammer) - PASS.

Had this a month or two. Used it to break up about 20 tons of concrete slab and walkway in my back yard. Had several days when it was basically used non-stop with just a break for lunch.

Worked well. No issues.

The new Pelican case knock-offs. I think they're called, Apache. I got one yesterday for a new camera. It came with the egg crate foam for the lid, 2 layers of "pick and pluck" and a bottom layer of regular foam. With 20% coupon, it was something like $34.

Absolute "pass".

Using the 3M Fast Foam glue, I glued the bottom in the case, then the first layer of plucked foam, followed by the upper layer of plucked foam. Each later was slightly different for items of different sizes.

I don't love the pluck foam as it seems to come apart when in use. I read on line that some spray the foam with Plasti-dip, but I cut a sheet of thin foam to match the upper layer and hot-glued in place. Looks great and should help keep the pluck foam from coming apart.

This one is 21-7/8 wide by 10-1/4 deep. You could put two of these back to back and leave a 1.5" gap in the rear. Gap could be filled with some foam so the trays don't slide around.

https://www.harborfreight.com/11-compartment-drawer-organizer-99730.html

I tried all the organizers HF sold, and so far nobody at HF has word on updated Series 2 sizing. I think I even tried those in all of my available drawers and i dont think they fit. I will try again.

Edit....My drawer depth is actual 19 5/8 I believe. They will not double stack

At this point I am leaning toward the Ernst cut to fit divider system

I'm 240, maybe I got a bad one but it seemed unstable and flexed pretty noticably under my load. I was looking for something rated for a decent amount of weight, I'm 6'2 so I didn't need much more than a basic "platform" type of thing to give me a little extra reach, when I was trying to put something heavier up high.

Ultimately I wound up with a plastic one from Home Depot for ~$11, similar weight rating but it's much more confidence-inspiring, despite being plastic.

I keep one of these in the back of the pickup year round and can't live without it. Great for reaching in the truck tool box, getting in the bed, fueling equipment, or just having a extra step up on something. Highly recommended. I am pushing 270lbs and still feel safe and secure on it.

I have two of these. Around Christmas you can get them for $20 sometimes. I weigh 200 and I have carried quite a bit of weight on them and used them in really awkward positions. Some years back my parents gave it as a gift and I thought it was cute and that I wouldn't use it. Now I use one nearly daily. It's a great work surface too.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this about coupons. If you go to the website, add the item(s) to your cart, you can apply the coupon codes there and see if they will work before going into the store. Just remember to empty your shopping cart when done. If you don't, the items will be there and be purchased the next time you order online.
