They are interesting, but seen a lot of things come and go over time with HF

Maybe got a special limited buy on something that didn't make the grade for some other branding.

Though also didn't see them put to actual use...maybe they didn't hold up either :dunno:

I've got a straight die grinder but had a need for angled so I picked up this yesterday:

https://www.harborfreight.com/14-in-air-angle-die-grinder-62439.html

I also got the 2" sanding disk set to go with it.

I'm reserfacing a couple of cast iron pans and it did the job fine.

For a home gamer I'm sure it will be fine. Pass on both.

Make sure you pack the head with some grease as I took it apart first and it was pretty much bone dry.

By the way, what's the grease gun look like that is used for these ball bearing grease ports?

Is it a small little pump or is there an adapter for a full sized grease gun?

Here are some good HF buys that I'd recommend to anyone. I have the every day prices listed on all of this stuff but most of these you can find Super Coupons for to drastically discount prices. I have owned and used most of this stuff for the last year or two and have been very happy with performance and have not experienced any failures in any of the items listed thus far(The Merlin stuff is fairly recent purchases but have been happy with them). Of course some things dont get as much us as others.

I have beat the **** out of both the large and the small ones. If you broke one it was all on you.[emoji481]
I used the small ones under 1/2 barrel planters, left outside until the plywood under the rugs rotted away. Then I realized that for $7.99 the casters and hardware were were cheaper on the dolly than bought individually. I got some fresh dollies and a couple of pressure treated 1x4s and built new ones. The pressure treated came out to just over 3 bucks a dolly so for $11 I have some plant dollies that should last a while. Plant dollies from the garden center are WAAY more. The casters don't seem to rust. The solid wood on the long sides should make some kind of shelf units.

Maybe i just got a bad batch then. I used them to clean big tap shavings (3/4+) out of holes and the only one that lived is the straight pick.

You must have. I use these little things religiously and almost daily for all kinds of stuff. I dont make a habit of putting too much pressure on them but I use the hell out of them for cleaning in tight areas, pushing/pulling rags and wires through tight areas, applying grease in tight areas, scraping, picking, poking, and prodding at wires and components in electronics... used them to clean/detail my car, etc. If you got a bad batch, I'd recommend warrantying them out, I believe all Pittsburgh hand tools have a lifetime warranty. And if you dont have them they're worth taking another chance on, they are dirt cheap.

Item 9712 tree pruner. Fail for me. I got six step side Ranger loads of tree limbs pruned. I needed about 12 more. I bought this pruner 1.5 years ago because the leaves pulled the trees down on the roof of my buildings and was damaging the shingles. Without leaves over the winter the limbs are quite high. This year was the same thing. I can't get high enough with it even standing on an 8' step ladder which I hate. The fail is because the end where the blade slides across bent badly. I'm sure it could be braced but I'm not wasting my time. There are better options for not much more money.

https://m.harborfreight.com/power-t...riable-speed-rotary-tool-kit-31-pc-60713.html

Bought this after my RTX rotory died in the middle of a project. Good power, and fairly hefty, has more weight than any of the Dremels I've owned. I'm just using it to cut some mosiac tile backsplash so it'll be just fine

I've used 120 volt handheld rotary tools since I got a Sears when I was a kid in the early '60's, for working on my slotcars. Dunno who made it, it's a fairly-hefty die-cast tool, still works fine. I've had several Dremels since that. I bought this HFT as a on-site tool to have at another house, it's OK, but I think the Dremels are better, when I try to use the wrench to tighten onto the bit shafts, I was surprised at how-soon the collet lock button would jump, and fail to hold the bit shaft in the collet. I don't tighten the collet as-much and it seems to hold the bits OK. I tried to use the Jacobs-chuck hand-tighten one off a Dremel, but the bolt size and threads are incompatible. The Dremel bits are better-than the HFT ones, I like to use the brass wire wheels for cleaning in small areas of motorcycles, and the HFT bits w/brass bristles shed like someone with alopecia, wear your safety glasses, and also not a bad time to use a shop apron. I find if I don't, the HFT bristles, brass or steel, wind-up embedded in my shirt material.

Still, the tool does perform its rotary cutting function, and for the price it's a 'pass,' not 'fail.'

I've been doing that for awhile. I like to use PT 2x4's because I use 'em for motorcycle engine cradles. You just have to size new carriage bolts.

I have a Wen rotary tool kit. It is better than HF but not quite Dremel good. I wish I could DIY a router type base to cut holes in plastics and thin wood.

whats everyones take the on Predator 4400psi powerwasher?

Here's my take on it...

Limited 90 Day Warranty (Retail)
Harbor Freight Tools Co. makes every effort to assure that its products meet high quality and durability standards,
and warrants to the original purchaser that this product is free from defects in materials and workmanship for the
period of 90 days from the date of purchase

$850 is a good price for those stated specs though. But other manufacturers give 3-5 year warranties on pressure washers. Not sure why HF can't seem to understand current warranties. For me the lack of warranty and lack of future replacement parts would make me spend a chunk of money like that more wisely.

And before someone brings up paying extra for their "extended" warranty. In the end you're just paying as much as a more credible product but your probably still not getting as long a warranty and again still not getting the replacement parts or product support on down the road.

HF's absolute **** warranty has made me realize that there is no value in the pricing of certain products.

Would be 125 to 150 bucks cheaper with that 15% off coupon going on. Not sure that makes a difference tho but good point. Just wanting something in that spec. Most I see are 3600psi and 2.5gpm.

Do the coupons depend on the HF location or personnel to get used? I used them for years but lately there 20 or 25 % off do not work for much. I went to buy a roll of mig wire and they would not let me use the 20% because they called it a welder. Cashier said they could not override the computer. I understand their intent on using it on welders or high priced items but the wire was just a welding supply. Is this also why they are name branding more of their merchandise? by the way the wire went back onto the shelf. If i'm going to buy Chinesium wire Menard's is 3.00 cheaper.

It would be nice to know what pump they use, that is what you will most likely need parts for. I'm sure a replacement carb can be had on ebay for under 20 bucks. And any of the hose/gun/sprayer/fittings should be standard and easy to replace. Like I said, the pump and pump replacement parts would be the most concerning. It would **** to have to buy a whole new pump because you couldn't find 30 bucks in parts to fix it.

I read somewhere someone saying something about an AR pump. It was either USA or Italy made. Cant recall.

You might be right, it does seem to say that in the description.

Professional-grade Annovi Reverberi™ triplex pump with brass manifold and ceramic coated pistons for exceptional life

And the site shows 15% on every tool but it might end today 6/30.

That ****** warranty is still bothersome though.

Just a heads up - the latest round of HF coupons I received has a 25% off July 4 only and a 20% off good through September 7 that now are excluding Central Machinery items while the same coupons from another flyer does not. That excludes quite a few more items.

Just checked the 20% coupon in the magazine/coupon book that comes in the mail. You're right, Central Machinery excluded. Guess that's the new policy going forward. Eventually everything in the store will be excluded.

There's very little value in HF anymore. So if nothing is ever going to be discounted are they ever going to offer an acceptable warranty? Why not just pull into the Menards parking lot across the street and for about the same price get a 1 year warranty instead of 90 days. :headscrat

The nearest Menards is 725 miles away, so HF it is.

Only a little over 200 miles for me. I agree great stores, I hit a Menards whenever I get a chance when we are up North.

Maybe someday they will expand down here.

All we have here now for hundreds of miles is HF and NIT. NIT is crazy on their pricing and some of their stuff is the same as HF or same quality.

Got a Lift Table .

Just some minor assembly .

Used it to pick up my Snowblower so i can repair it. Rated for 500 lb. May mod the top so nothing can easily roll off. I had looked but I couldn't find an alternative that was comparable in price or performance.
