I haven't really looked at them, but they seem to work and feel fine. I don't miss the 5-drawer-style latches at all.

I was doing a bit of stuff over the weekend and was in and out of it a fair bit. Definitely confirmed my decision - was great/seamless.
My latches have been fine. The drawer sliders gummed up, but I fixed them with some silicone spray lube on the slides themselves.

Curious why I wouldn't be better to buy a normal tool chest? They are about the same price. What does the cart give me?
Good question. I have a couple of 5 drawer carts and I recently replaced an old Craftsman cart with a 26 inch roller cart. Basically the same footprint with more inside storage and a work surface on the top without adding a side tray. Other than being able to stick some big stuff underneath the drawers I don’t lose anything compared to the 5 drawer.

A pass on on this bar light. Its nice and light, and pretty bright. But battery life is kind of poor. I even tried running it with it plugged in the charger, but it can't keep up. And the plug on the charger doesn't like to stay plugged in.

Makes sense. Plug to charge lights are a tough sell for me. The big advantage to nearly all "power tool" type lights is the hot swap ability of the batteries. Otherwise, they generally use low binned LEDs and inefficient drivers, and being made of plastic the heat dissapation is not on par with aluminum flashlights/lanterns. But it is convenient to just pop off a battery pack and swap in another. Take that away and force the user to plug the light in to charge and it loses all its advantages.

I use mine quite often, while I agree on the battery life, I don't have an issue leaving it plugged in at all. But for $35-37 you would be hard-pressed to find another that works just as good.

I got the 6 gallon Bauer vacuum. I'm going to give it a pass. I like the filter attachment method and for a shop vacuum, it's pretty quiet. Suction is good....nothing incredible but what I would expect from a vacuum of this size. Picked it up for $60 and a spare filter for $15. Doesn't have much in the way of accessories but then I didn't need a lot of accessories. I have a much larger shop vacuum but I wanted a smaller one and none of the big names out there had what I was looking for (tall but smaller diameter vacuum body).

My only minor complaint is the power cord is pretty short. I'd prefer a longer cord. I have a cord reel on my ceiling so it's not a big deal but it's the only complaint I have about the vacuum.

They have a 90 day return policy, you could have got your $36 back. :dunno:
People always ignorantly say that about harbor freight stuff they don't like. Returning it would save them money, but oh well.

You simply cannot beat the deadblow hammers of all sizes and the BFHs are great too. I find it almost pointless to buy more expensive hammers

Right across the street from my HF is a Menards and PB Blaster is $1 less and that BrakeKleen is $2.02 less. LOL The 3in1 is 1.30 less too. I gotta bring my own funky smell though.

the only reason i went to HF is for the superlube as nobody else has it local. the other items i just grabbed out of convenience since i was already there and they were within arms reach of the superlube. but ya theres a walmart just down the street that certainly would of had brakleen and pb cheaper

Doyle flush cutters are a pass. Spent a while today repairing my icicle lights with some zip ties, and the Doyle cutter worked great.
Yep, the Doyle pliers are fantastic for the money.

I have the flush cuts, cable cutters, mini needle nose, duckbill pliers, and a couple of others as I've needed them. I really like plain vinyl grips, too (personal preference, I guess) and the grips on my Doyles have proven durable and feel just right.

These and the HF "Bremen" locking pliers are a big win.

I bought two of the pliers rack (70022) and the wrench rack two pack (70023) recently at HF and give both of them a pass. I posted about them in the "show your new tool arrivals" thread, linked here.

The only issues I had was the size of my tool box drawers vs. the sizes of these, especially the wrench racks. I was able to get them to work for me.

Got the Bauer rat tail type grinder. Looks almost identical to my Task Force grinder from Lowes. Minor differences. Seems to be good quality. I like having a few grinders so I don’t have to swap disks. I may buy a couple more in the future. So far, I’ll give it an enthusiastic pass.

Got the Hercules 20V/120V job site fan. I wanted to run it from 120V only (I don’t have and won’t be getting any of the HF batteries. It didn’t move a lot of air but acceptable for its size. The problem is, it rattles when it runs. I checked the motor and found it has play in the motor shaft so it rattles badly. This one is going back. I may try one more before asking for a refund but I’m undecided. The reviews did mention rattling in some of them so I may have to give it a fail.

I bought a pair of those Doyle mini tweezer pliers. They work great for removing wood splinters and wire brush shards from your hand..... combine it with the magnifying glass on a stand. Works great!

I suppose it's kind of cheating because it's well known many of the Chief air tools are the same tools other manufacturers sell, but both the extended straight die grinder and the needle scaler were on sale for ITC members and I had a major rust removal job so I pulled the trigger.

I have never used a needle scaler before so I have nothing to compare it too but it sure seems like it did its job. It is big, and heavy and loud, but it sure chews through rust/paint.

I was very pleased with the die grinder. The extra length really makes it easy to use with two hands it it's got tons of power. I put a flap wheel on it and was able to really lean it to it without stalling. It definitely ***** a lot of air. I have an honest 15 CFM compressor and if I hadn't taken intermittent breaks to change positions and whatnot, I could have outrun the compressor.

Anyway, both tools performed admirably, and though we'll have to see what they look like long term as usual, I give both a pass.

if a HF tool lasts beyond the first day of use its a pass ?

If you only NEEDED it to last one day and it lasted longer…then sure why not? It did what you needed it to do and lasted longer than you needed it to.

HF has really upped their game over the last few years. Sure some of their stuff is junk but there’s no evidence they edit the reviews on their site. So, you can trust the reviews. Then threads like this one help to decide if we want to buy the tool based on others reviews.

Nice! I love the blue tool boxes!

I've always been a little salty at the fact that I bought a red tool cart a few years back about two weeks before they started selling boxes in different colors. I totally would have waited for a blue one. The tool cart is fantastic, but it sure would be cooler if it were blue...

I acknowledged I would need to evaluate them long term, but it seems like many of the "fail" posts here are about things that are basically broken or useless out of the box and get returned immediately. The build quality of both items I described was excellent and they both performed well.

That said, if there is a general understanding on this thread that all items discussed must be subjected to long term use before judgement is passed, I retract my "pass" and will circle back after more use.

A nice troll question but the answer to it is yes.

exactly what the thread is about.

it’s common knowledge is over the years Harbor freight is sold product that either last forever or **** at the get-go

really not much of a point of pass fail on a product five years from now.

This thread is about whether a tool is considered a pass or fail as decided by the particular poster. If you don’t have questions for those who have a pass or fail for a particular tool and don’t have your own pass or fail evaluations to post, perhaps this thread isn’t for you.

No, but this is a “pass-fail” thread.

besides usually with HF stuff if it makes it through the first day, it generally holds up pretty good

I bought the fiberglass electrical fish tape sticks for $8.99. Finally used them last night to pull a small wire through a 1.75 inch roll bar on a side by side. Easy pull more like a guide the wire through and pulled the end of one of the sticks. Pure junk.

You were using them to pull wires through a curved tube?
