Too tired to look any further on the HF website for it, an item number would be great.
Those 2 items in my post aren't sold by HF, they're made by Lisle. Was just replying to Blake better options for holding up hoods than the HF locking pliers he was having trouble with.

I just found the Lisle on Amazon...So no wonder I couldn't find it on the HF site. I want one pretty bad. I prefer the big A anymore anyways. Ha.

Check out the logo on the box in darkzero's pic...Asin, means China to me.
For $40 I'd find a tree branch to use as a hood prop.
just me though,

Lol.

Aisin is a Japanese auto parts manufacturer that makes many of the OEM parts for Toyota (not all their parts are made in Japan though). They're actually partly owned by Toyota. Those boxes contained window regulators.

But yeah, I'm sure the Lisle telescoping hood prop is made in China. Still a great tool & I'm not opposed to buying Chinese made tools when they are good. I don't remember paying $40 for it but these days I'm not surprised.

When I used to work at a shop we didn't have tree branches handy. Just a broken broom stick but it didn't telescope to fit different cars. ;) I don't work at a shop anymore so I could live without it but I do have it & it still comes in handy, just not very often anymore.

what i did many times was a piece of line with a loop to catch hood latch or other part on hood and tie to roof rack, rear door , rear bumber, etc i would do this many times even if the car had a good prop to have better access.

Used the 25% off coupon for this:

B0559975-C556-4B0E-A03F-C60FD3AF33BB.png
$599 less $150 made for a good deal.

I bought this 6 weeks ago, I tried hard to really like it, but it just *****. The branches need to be straight & clean to feed them, need to be pretty green so they can bend. I hope you have better luck but it's a fail for me, returning it this week end.

1" pistol grip air impact wrench.

Originally thought it was a pass. Price to performance ratio was good, on sale.

Then the trigger seemingly broke wide open so I laid it aside as a fail.

Then it seemed to have fixed itself so it's a pass again.

Tentatively. Don't pay full price.

Hits good enough for semi lugs even when air pressure is low. Heavy as hell.

Brand new item, weren't even put out on the floor yet & employees didn't know about them yet. Only comes in black so far. I'd say it's a PASS but it's a fail for me.

Seems sturdy, top hangs on a box, bottom has 3 magnets to keep it in place. Came with 3 spacers & screws that I didn't bother trying to figure out what they're for. Doesn't fit my M18 Compact/stubby with my Mid-Torque in the middle. Middle hole is the only large hole. I'm gonna return it, I wish it would have worked for me.

Grabbed this nice small parts box the other day. It’s their nicer quality version and was on sale. The three large latches seem to work well and feel like they won’t break easily unlike their cheap boxes. The lid hinges are better and the O-ring seal is nice. Time will tell.0F69A5FC-16EC-40B2-9DEC-E8D2B7CE252C.jpeg137DAAB1-8335-4E09-AC7B-70343D956BA1.jpeg
Nice looks like it has a gasket around the edge as well.

picked up the push pin fastener removal piers.

63700_I.jpg

Pretty decent quality. Thought it was a minus that they had a hard time gripping recessed fasteners, that they could use a little longer reach, but the blades seem about what Lisle and others sells. Otherwise works fine. PASS

This was an impulse buy. I have three (maybe more from auction buys) of the old-school light bulb circuit testers of course all with bad bulbs, so when I spied this on sale for less than $9 it was WTH.

Fairly solid and does distinguish polarity, with some basic of tests. Here is a more in-depth test from someone else.
One improvement it could use is "side teeth" on the clamps for ease of hooking to side terminal battery. for the money PASS, tossing the others in the trash.

I purchased these about 4 years ago, to help my son troubleshoot the A/C on an old Explorer. He did the quick can recharge, so I never even used them, until recently.

The AC was out on both Silverado's and knowing almost nothing about A/C and troubleshooting with gauges, it was time to ask questions here and watch endless YouTube videos. Well, I got the AC on both working, but I was impressed with the fit and quality of these, which have been hooked up and removed many times on both vehicles, during this "learning experience".

Removed them this morning and they are still holding the pressure readings.

Anyway, a PASS for them and they are on sale for $45 through today with coupon.

Diesel mechanic, the Bremen locking chain pliers are a major pass. Buy them now. I'll vouch for them. They removed a fuel filter that was seemingly welded and super glued on, when nothing else could do anything except scratch the paint off

Also, the Pittsburgh 25" breaker bar is a major pass. It's gotten some force put onto it and it's been great

Where are people getting 25% off coupons? I'm even Inside Track member and I don't think I have received any such thing. Wondering how I'm missing this?
@Formerjeeper HB was doing 20% & 25% off coupons over the Memorial Day Weekend. The 25% was good only on the Monday. I was prepared to actually buy the chipper before that weekend, then I had the thought that they might run coupons for the holiday weekend. I was right and got the last chipper available that day....

Looks to be $50 or so - Lisle 45900 for one that doesn't come with the yellow cup and is 46.75" or $52 with the cup:

Pass: Icon button floodlight (59170) and Icon stick light (59103):
1zQLBB.jpg

I've had more time with the button light, and it's pretty darn beefy, very bright and I dig that it charges with USB-C like my phone and computer. The magnet is nice and strong too.

The stick light could be described the same way - very nice. I guess all of them make you cycle through all three different light modes (various brightnesses on both sides of the arm and the tip - a three-position switch and then cycle brightness with the button would be nice), so I guess I can't really ding it for that.

Is their creeper a pass?
I have the padded creeper with adjustable headrest and it works, but I found it uncomfortable as there is no dip for your shoulders so your arms and shoulders would dig into the metal bars.
Upgraded to a Griots Garage creeper and it's much nicer. My HF one just sits now.

The plastic formed one no, on a rough floor or asphalt driveway the wheels are good for 2 days.
I bought the plastic one because it is rated for 300 plus pounds ( I am 280 ) got on it and it flexed to the floor . built a metal frame to stiffen it up and so far it has been ok. only used on smooth concrete in my home shop.

I bought one of these. I really like it. Holds my milwaukee tools well and it's very secure with strong magnets.

Nice, glad it worked out for you. I really wanted to keep it & wish it would've worked for me but it didn't fit the way I would have liked with my M18 impacts (2nd gen Mid Torque & 3rd gen Compact w/ the tri-LEDs). If I still had my older my older M18 impacts it probably would have been fine.

I'm sure this one has been posted before but the tool creeper is a huge pass for me. At $15 it's well worth it. Has a little steel plate to stick a flashlight to.

Was planning to wait till Labor Day sale to get it. But I decided to just pick it up this past Monday. Monday I woke up & had a 30% off $20 & under coupon in my email. Nice, perfect timing! Got it for $10.50, couldn't be happier at that price.

The one on the left, the one on the right I like a lot too, for smaller jobs, but it's not from HF.

Put it to good use yesterday and today/right now. Such a time saver for me being able to just roll everything to the other side when needed.
