After spending a lot of time on this site i'm sure everyone notices a lot of posts/pics of specific tools reoccurring in many toolboxes. In some cases I feel like I must be the only person on GJ that doesn't have a certain tool. I thought it could be fun to see if other people have some tools that stand out to them.

In my case I feel like I must be the only person in the U.S. that doesn't own a Craftsman raised panel ratchet of any size. I have SO, Armstrong, Matco, Gearwrench, SK, HF, etc, but one of those RP's has never made it's way into my collection.

Stubby wrenches. Closest I have to 'em is some ignition wrenches, which, IIRC, I've never used for ignition, but have used on some other lit'l things.

Didn't have flex head ratcheting wrenches until today. Time will tell exactly how much I "needed" them.

a Snap-ON bill.. HA HA HA....

Nope. I don't have one either.

A mill, or a lathe.

A freaking plunge router...

Mill/Lathe/three phase power

no bandsaw
no plasma had one, rarely used it, sold it for 4x's what i paid for it.

for the most part my tool buying days are over, i started buying my own tools in '76 when i started my machinist apprenticeship

i still have a few things i'd like to get or replace, mostly in the woodworking department.

A missus that disapproves of my tool purchases

Mine couldn't care less. We each have a personal checking account and a little bit of our paychecks go into that every two weeks then the rest into our joint account. Most of my tools are paid for from my personal account but I do always manage to buy something or another from our joint account when I do any kind of work on her car.

a vise and a workbench. would be so much better than using the ground and trash can lids!

A garage! But it seems I'm not the only one. I hate apartments, especially those won't let me fix my car in parking lots.

Not always up to the apartment complex. At the building my family owns we used to let a tenant/onsite-manager work on his cars. The city found out and had a sh*t-fit. We got fined and they threatened to pull the occupancy permit if the activity didn't stop and the excess cars were removed from the lot.

As to what I don't have yet:
compressor & air tools
stationary power tools
pedestal buffer
bench grinder
big vise
angle grinder
sawzall
And on and on and on....

Welder ....but hopefully that changes soon

Me too. That's on my "wish list" - but just a little one for home use.

I'm always finding little things on this site that I didn't know existed or didn't know I needed to own until I saw it :lol_hitti

I feel like I've contributed to this thread, but a welder is definitely on the list. And a work bench or a vice. I have been digging around on here looking for quality vintage vices. I hope to come across one at a rummage sale or through CL and "restore" it. (Fresh paint and whatnot)

I restored several Made in USA Stanley pliers today after rinsing them with Evapo-rust; restored everything to its former glory.
