Found a King **** 3/4" drive ally ratchet a few years ago. Seized up and one screw missing, bit of WD and a similar screw and all good.
I picked up the 1/2" drive aluminum alloy ratchet this morning at a car boot sale for £1. It's in much better condition than some I have seen.
I now have 9/32", 3/8" and 1/2" examples. I have two of the 9/32" drive ratchets and have passed on a few others but I haven't managed to find a 1/4" drive example yet.
The 3/8" ratchet looks like a PO took it apart and rebuilt it with the anvil the wrong way around.
YesStill made in the UK?
British Tools and Fasteners located in NYNice , good looking tools.
How'd you get them?
Beautiful! These make _awesome_ small tap wrenches for places a regular T type wrench won't go.
As "kyrbz" has stated in post #60 above- British Tools and Fasteners in NY, here's their British website you might have been thinking of which mentions Abingdon King **** :-I have a set of King **** Whitworth combination spanners, very nice, bought new a few years ago. Bought from a webshop on the internet just before brexit kicked in. That company, Abingdon tools something, seems gone. I'd like to buy more, but now I can't find any good retailer stocking the more obscure stuff like Whitworth spanners. Ideally in EU, but I can live with the customs hazzle that comes with buying from UK, Any ideas?
BSW stands for British Standard Whitworth which is the new name for Whitworth size fittings, not a brand nameThe only brand name I see is BSW.
