Does anyone know how the Klein D505-10 clascis klaw hold up? I can't seem to find any info on them online. It looks like NWS made a pair of them for Klein 504-10 classic klaw and the 505-10 are the USA version. Grabbed them for $15 HD sale, however I may return them for Alligators if they're just so so. I love my alligator 7-1/4 pair more than my 10 cobras.

I snagged several Klein things on clearance, plus an 8” needle nose not in the pic.

Only place I’ve seen the USA Milwaukees so far is Farm & Fleet.

From the big ole’ Home Depot saleIMG_7560.jpeg
Do the actual pliers have the classic "Made in USA" on them anywhere? I noticed the last 203-8s I got from HD it was removed. The packaging was the same as yours with the same wording. It was a bit concerning.

I have the NWS version and they are great, but the jaw profile is not as versatile as Knipex. At that price, I'd hang on to them.

Much love for those long hollow magnetic nutdrivers. :rocker:

At my local they were $15 yes
Very good deal on those! 👍

The 505-10s are made in usa but don't say on the tool. Finished in mexico. Maybe they forge them in usa and then send everything to mexico so they can be assembled and finished and they can't mark them MiUSA anymore?

I recently purchased a pair of Klein bent nose pliers. The images on the website I purchased the pliers from had "made in the usa" on the tool. The pliers I received did not have "made in the usa" on them. On the back of the package it had the same B.S. Forge in the USA, finished in Mexico. Very disappointed in Klein, they are playing around with the verbiage. I wouldn't consider these pliers made in the usa. If they were made in the usa Klein would 100% put made in the usa on the tool. Klein doesn't put made in the usa on the tool because legally they can not. I returned the bent nose pliers.

The Klein Tools Mexican plant has been in operation a long time. Klein’s US manufacturing has been mostly independent, other than a few instances like the slip joints.

Something I have never seen mentioned on the GJ, or the internet for that matter, is that Urrea sources some of their pliers from Klein Mexico. The quality is as good as the USA versions. (I also have Urrea pliers sourced from VBW Germany and Grip-on Spain but thats for another thread.)

I have noticed Klein tools are hard to find @ my local brick and mortar stores. But it looks like Jeff Moss knows where to look to find the good stuff.

I snagged a pair of need nose pliers D202-1 (I think) and a pair of hybrid pliers (grey-handle multipurpose pliers), which I've been wanting for a while.

Over at Lowe's, I saw a couple of Klein diagonal cutters that hadn't been put on the shelf yet. While I was there, I got a set of Ideal cushion grip screwdrivers. I prefer the handles on those, but Klein has better tips. Not that I needed anymore screwdrivers.

Why do you want the hybrid pliers? It seems to me that it can be replaced by a couple of other tools. The only thing special to me is that it has extra thick wire strippers. But who needs that? Please share. Thanks.

Yes, it can be replaced by a couple of other tools....but those other tools can also be replaced by this one tool. They have plier jaws, strippers, side cutters, screw cutters, a crimp die, and another gripping area near the handles for pulling cable. It's more of a convenience tool that I can throw in a small bag.

Didn't see a Klein Tool thread dedicated to the KT addiction.. thought I would try to start one.......I know they're expensive, but pretty good quality and most are made in USA....

I just bought a borescope that hooks to your smartphone. I haven't used it yet but it looked cool and was affordable. I do have some pliers, strippers and screwdrivers as well.

Thanks for posting up pics.
Is the other side of the display devoted to Klein too?
Seems rather limited selection.
The pliers options especially seems lethargic.
Any sign of screwdrivers?
Our local supply houses are heavily stocked; maybe my expectations are too high.

Just came across this Vaco flip socket driver similar to the Klein.
I hadnt seen this before so thought i'd share it.
I really like the bright colored handle for working in dim settings.
The nutdriver size numbers are also much bigger and more visible than the Klein.
But the lack of color coding is a negative.
(I do wish either version had bit storage even for just a few bits.)

Links below are Amazon.
VACO VAC1070 (currently $25.43):

Klein 32900 (currently $29.97):

Are the sockets of the vaco magnetic? The Klein seems to have magnetic sockets

There's also a magnetic MegaPro-style driver, and a set of individual drivers with the same style of handle.

Curiously, I can't find any mention of these new tools on Klein's website. However, I did find this:

Makes me wonder if Klein is spinning Vaco off as a DIY brand.

I didn't own any Klein tools until my son got me the 11 in 1 screwdriver for Christmas. As he works in commercial refrigeration, he said it's a common and well respected tool among his cohort. I liked it so well I just ordered one for my daughter's apartment tool box.
