Thats the MCT right? Pleasantly surprised how much you've got in it, is it hard to close?

Mine is sitting in the pile of stuff I still need to unpack yet. Been a busy season.

Yeah. I wasn't sure it was gonna work but it holds everything quite well. It's like my go bag so I'm I'm and out if it almost daily and it's holding up well. It only gets hard to close on the one side if just jam my meter and wrench roll in without rolling it up.

Jlarson, love those Veto bags. I use the Klien stuff. The Tradesman rolling bag is the best out there. The backpack holds all my computer ****, cables, laptop and some tools as well.

Was in Harry Epstein’s and found a tape measure I just couldn’t do without.

Friend of mine will only use, endorse, or allow the use of a Stanley Fatmax tape measure on any work he does. I get it, plenty of things I am particular about. I got one of those Klein tapes and showed it to him. He has a fair amount of Klein drivers and likes them overall. He wouldn't go as far as to say he'd own one, but he didn't hate it.

I'm sure you all know (or are) that kind of guy where some things have only one answer. I've showed him several Komelon, Fastcap, Fisco, Starret, even a small 6 footer (USA made even) from a furniture store in the 80's. Not one of them was good enough, even other brands from Stanley like Dewalt & Delta.

It's a lot of words for such a small point but anyway if I was going to write a review of the Klein tape measures that would be it.

The review would be a great idea.
Normally I would not spend much on a tape measure. I probably already have more than a dozen. I consider them one of my more disposable tools. I have never seen a Klein tape measure before. I gave lots of Klein tools related to the electrical, telecommunications field.
I had listed it’s merits but erased them that is a job better suited to you. I’ll put in my 2 cents later. Good luck with the review.

For one, they have a crimper built in.
Handles are 2 layers like the Klein Kurve - better construction than those 6 in 1 electrical crimpers/strippers/bolt cutters for sure.
Used them on a job yesterday, so far so good.

I need some Klein help. I broke my 76011B hand nibbler and went to order another one and Kleins website shows discontinued. Is there an alternative?

Some of mine, mostly vintage.

Note the different colored grips on one of the lineman's pliers. One is a "CHAMPION DeArment" and the other is a M. Klein. I'm thinking it's the only one in existence.

I got the SD71 bags for free at a garage sale because they were "dirty". She told me they were free even before I asked the price. I washed them.

A few more. My favorite lineman's pliers, a 1961 bell system model.

The last group of six are my favorites. I have several vintage Lufkin rules but I prefer the Klein, it has very tight joints.

Is a standard 3/8 klein socket set worth going after, There is a set in one of our local pawn shops.

Probably depends on whether they are "old" USA or current offshore products. If memory is right street price was about $100 in the 1990s for my small USA 3/8 metric set. Last time I checked the same set was under $50 street price and made offshore.

At least some of the older Klein USA drive tools were made by SK.

These are a few of my kleins in my service bag. Oddly enough, the Taiwanese heavy duty multi driver has been very durable with good bits.

A few more of mine...

Last two are of a tool I'm not exactly sure what its purpose is.. That plus the wrench are wall hangers for the most part.

View media item 73869

The first is a pole line wrench, has provisions for 3/8, 1/2, 5/8 and 3/4" square nuts.

Second is a twist splicing tool, used on telephone/telegraph lines. You have a sleeve you slide over the two conductors, then use two of these tools to tightly twist the sleeve around, while at the same time twisting the conductors together.

Give us a review of these once you've made some cuts please.

For anyone wondering about the Klein HD dykes, I find them too heavy and bulky to be useful. They're basically linesman sized dykes, kind of a weird in between size. I did hammer in a bunch of staples with them in an attic I was working in, when I forgot my hammer. The cutters are hard and durable but not sharp. More useful as nail/screw cutters than as an electrical tool.

I went back to my old 8.5" dykes and put the free HD ones in my tool box in the car.

I don't use them for wire either, I bought them for my roadbox. They get used mainly for pulling keys, pins, cotter pins, stuff like that.

Neat.. So a good go with for my insulators.. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=340272&highlight=insulator

I knew about the wrench.. the two below referred to the two pictures both of the splicing tool.. I knew about the wrench... Good stuff and great info.

How he heck did linemen always seem to get great looking wire ties on those old glass insulators?

My wife and I were walking the grandbaby in her stroller yesterday and found a Klein screwdriver rusting away in the parking strip. What could I do? I brought it home and cleaned it up. I figured that I should take a picture of most of the Klein tools I’ve been finding at estate sales lately, mostly lineman’s pliers.

Alright last pictures. :willy_nil

This particular set of Klein cooking tools I happen to find at, of all places, a plumbing hardware store's shop. Once I saw it, didn't even think twice about it, just purchased it. :D

The last couple of pictures are of the Klein bottle opener displayed with a PB Swiss and Craftsman bottle openers.
