Thanks to Bob for encouraging me to post an update, life really got away from me.
I got a promotion at work which basically added a lot more stress and hours and not much else. Then Covid hit and they closed the school and daycare, but my wife was essential so she had to go to work and I had to work from home and do virtual school with the kids.
The garage became my sanctuary since I didn’t so-much work from home as live at work. School all day and catching up on work in the evening didn’t leave much time for life.
The garage has a TV now and a comfortable chair, but unfortunately I spent too much time drinking and watching roadkill.
Then in 2022 I changed careers and got my life back. The new job has much better work life balance and I again have time for projects and family.
The garage has been an amazingly versatile space. I swapped the engine in the woody wagon which made a huge improvement in driveability, I made some upgrades to the engine in the Cobra to go drag racing. I built cabinets for my racecar trailer which I use as a car hauler and a place to sleep at the track.
And I’ve managed to maintain the daily drivers and the house.
We’ve been travelling a lot more with the Airstream and this past summer took it to Pigeon Forge and Dollywood.

I started drag racing the cobra but discovered I like Autocross better. This winter I’m making some handling upgrades.

I also discovered I like exercising, so the garage has become a workout room with a selection of dumbbells and kettlebells. Work provides a wellness account that paid for these items and my mental and physical health have definitely improved since I started working out a few days a week.
Right now I’m upgrade the woody to an overdrive transmission so it will be better on long trips. This past summer I took it on a beach camping trip and someday I plan to do PowerTour in it.
At some point i started posting videos of racing on YouTube to share with my friends so a lot of my adventures are posted on my YouTube channel now.

I’ll try to do a better job updating the garage thread going forward. It was really fun rereading my posts and seeing the transformation.
