So, I am a general DIY kind of guy and love working on cars. I recently moved from a smaller house with a 2-car garage to the other side of town to a bigger house with a 2-car carport (20x19) and attached storage area/workshop (20x6).
Here is a pic of the old garage. There was a lot of room to work with since it was enclosed, and it even had a closet area in the back left where I kept my compressor and extra tools/stuff:
Here is a pic of the carport when I bought the new house and attached storage area I wanted to turn into a workshop. It was pretty dingy and not a lot of space!
Since then, I have painted the floor with beige epoxy-coat, took out all the nails and rotting shelves in the workshop, painted all the walls, put great stuff in the cracks between the walls and floor, added vinyl baseboard, and generally cleaned it up real good! Then I started adding pegboard (which I love), my tools, 2 workbenches painted to match the walls (one is 1x8 ft along the wall and the other is 5x2.5 or so), my rolling HF cart, etc.
I still need to add a few more shelves, some decorative posters/wall signs/the rest of my tools and some mini blinds for the 2 windows. Add some more weatherstripping and such around the 2 doors to insulate it better. The washer/dryer hookup is still in workshop, but eventually we will move it into the house to have more room for my larger items (compressor, etc).
Pic of the before/after the epoxy-coat:
Going in the carport will be my 1970 Chevy Stepside C-10 nicknamed by the previous owner "Ol Betsy". I have loved working on it and slowly resto-modding it as time and money allows. It will be the only car in the carport so I do have some room on either side of the carport to store things that don't fit in the workshop.
Ideas and comments welcome! I know it isn't quite the baller garage like most on here, but its all I got
I will try to keep this updated with pictures as best I can!
