Welcome to my garage build, The Loonie Bin.
Last year I knocked down an old 1920's summer cabin to build a new home. I managed to swing a 24x24 garage as well. Property is lakefront on a beautiful 800 acre lake in the Northwoods. We closed in February and now I'm making plans for finishing the garage. Here are some pictures of the construction.
Before pictures of the old cabin
Garage Slab and backwalls going in.
Siding going on before the garage door arrived
House and garaged are complete. Garage is barebones, just stud walls, two windows that I saved from the old cabin, a man door and 8x16 garage door.
I was on a budget during the build and didn't have much to spare for the garage. I'm planning on insulating and heating the space, add overhead lighting, some workbenches on top of toolboxes or cabinets and storage for life vests, oars, fuel cans, water ski's. snow ski's, snow shoes. Going to park two vehicles in there when we move up here for good. I'm hoping to eventually build a seperate shop with lift and storage for the boats and other toys.
For your pleasure, Sunset at the Lake
