Found a new salvage/surplus yard today.

Going to hit it again with some cash in my pocket sometime soon.

It’s only open by appointment, or when he feels like working.

My kind of place!

That is one serious door!!!

The new salvage place you found looks like a honey hole

Did you leave that plane outside?

The door was fun. Crew is currently working on two more. Unfortunately, I’m stuck in the office 😕

I left my little block plane outside for a few weeks.

@RivennHewn man, truly impressive. Very very nice.
Thank you!

I got an evening in the shop to clean up the little block plane.

A little wire wheel, brush and some lapping lead to breaking out the Tormek and giving the blade a new edge with micro bevel.

Working better than new now!

Had a little help from Colter Wall and Cody Jinks, along with Sturgill Simpson and Tyler Childers.👍

Ya! Out of the office today.

Playing with the crew, sheathing another pair of hangar doors.

25 degrees - sure am happy to have my M12 heated vest!

I built this cabinet years back, but just got it hanging in the new shop today.

I was doing a structural retrofit to a historic building that was completed in 1901.

The original builder was a ship builder that was in a prime position to rebuild Seattle after the great fire. He also was the Mayor of Seattle.
He went on to build the Rosario Resort on Orcas Island as his retirement home.

The cabinet doors are made from the rough sawn timbers, and the wavy, grooved chicken wire glass came from the elevator shaft.

It is probably my favorite work project I’ve done, and a great piece of Seattle/ Pioneer Square history.

Happy to have it hanging in my shop again.

Nice work on the cabinet, Riv.
Did you have to have the glass cut?
Always wondered how they cut wire glass.
I did have it cut. Didn’t want to F it up, because I’d never find any more.

Cuts like normal, then ya gotta wiggle it til it lets go🤔

I've had my kitchen cabinets open for about 5 years waiting to figure out the doors. This is the perfect look!

Now to find some....

My dad, the cabinet builder, lived in our house for 20+ years with no cabinet doors.

Having grown up without them, I kinda don’t see the point of them😜
