Here's mine:

Pretty similar setup.

I added a shackle underneath for use with a ****** block to double the pulling power.

it should work for straight pulls, maybe not so much for anything with an angle to it.

Another reason for the winch, is I want move some rocks. I’m going to try and pull them up the beach, closer to my seawall.

This will help bolster the seawall, and give me a clear beach for launching/landing the boats without damaging them.

I spent this evening making up an extension cable for added reach.

Just hook Ranger up to the end of that cable. I'll loan you my two hounds too.

Looks good Riv, should add a few years to your back.

Those are Anderson style connectors, the shells come in all different sizes, based on amperage, you can get many different size terminals for the same size shells. I usually use the 300 amp style, not too big, not too small. The connectors are dead simple and hold up well, plus you can’t hook them up backwards.

I’m liking the look of those connectors.
Going to have to place an order today!

Ya know Riv if you like collecting floating logs that much. I'll come visit for a week and promise not to flush.

I'm going to assume not a lot of high-speed boating happening on that river?

It’s actually a channel, and yes we do get those who don’t pay attention to the “No Wake” signs.

Myself being one of them!

12' stiff surfcasting rod, an 8-ounce weight, and a big treble hook on 80# braided line and you'll be wrangling them from the beach.
Looking for an appropriate sized grappling hook.
Big enough to grab a log, small enough to throw.

Make one out of 3/8" rebar with your Craftsman welder. Or PM me dimensions and I'll make you one. I have a few 3/8 rebar shorts in my scrap bucket.
I’m thinking of going high tech, for a low tech tool!

That might bring unwanted attention.

I’d settle for a naval mooring line thrower.

Considering there is a gun range across the channel, nobody would even think twice about hearing it.

Merry Christmas Riv, I noticed the new dog is not catching up to Ranger size wise.
Is he getting crowded out of the food bowl or just still too young?

Jay,
Both of the little guys parents were in the 20-25 lbs range, which is what my wife was looking for.

He’s up to 40 lbs now, at just under a year.
We’re thinking we’ve been over feeding him😜

Hope ya have a great Christmas!

Got some company swag at the Christmas party the other night.

Needed something to differentiate from all the others.

Considering the gut-rot coffee I drink, thought this was appropriate.
