Nice setup wdkerf.
What piece is that in the upper right corner of the drawer?

Has anyone tried out the deepwell impact sockets yet ?
They are about $60 at the local Rural King farm supply.

Looks like the M18 light. The thing next to it is the removable handle for the M18 drills. The silver part locks onto a dovetail on the top of the drill body.

Nailed it.

Its the M18 LED flashlight, and the handle attachment for the Impact drill / driver.

the flashlight works well, but isn't as totally bright as I would have hoped. Still does the job though, and has a very even output.

will most likely be picking up the M18 flood light when Home Depot starts carrying it in stock at local stores.

Absolutely love my 3/8 fuel, how do you guys like the cordless ratchet, i see the guys at my shop using them but im on the fence with it. It is pretty much what is holding me up from buying a bare bones 12v makita replacement for one i left on a truck because they use the same battery as the fuel 1/4 impact. To top it off matco has buy one get one so the price is about the same as going to the store.

damn this thread is dangerous, my wife is gonna kill me

Cordless ratchet is the only Milwaukee tool I have. I highly recommend it. I will say that I do this in my spare time on my cars. I am a college student, so this is not my job.

With that being said it is pretty damn durable and helped greatly in tearing down my moms engine to fix the timing belt.

I know that the box says 35 ft lb, but it feels as though it is more than that. It tightens things to a point where I would not feel comfortable tightening any more using 3/8. If you need things tighter than this can do then 3/8 is probably the wrong tool size.

I like my 8" metal cutting circular saw OK.Just OK. I like my old 10" USA miter saw a lot. It's cut truck loads of lumber---literally.
For me the rest of their tools are now junk. They seem more focused on tape measures and pliers than sorting out the problems with the power tools. I have an M12 die grinder. Junk. An M12 right angle drill. Junk.A Hackzall. Junk.
I'll take Makita any day.

Please elaborate, what is wrong with your die grinder and right angle drill?

I kinda get it, I think he's expecting too much from a 12V die grinder. That's one reason I haven't gotten it either, Milwaukee only saw fit to give it an 1/8" collet which speaks volumes about its capability.

Milwaukee: bring out a Fuel die grinder in M12 or M18 w 1/4" collet & I'll be 1st in line!!

The right angle drill is underpowered, but its a once-in-awhile-gotta-have-it saver (or maybe savior).

I like the brushed Hackzall tho, more power than I ever expected from such a small package.

I'd like to see his Makita counterparts tho with explanation of how they're any better....

Then you'll be settling... someones got to keep their cordless division in business I guess.

The Makita tools look really nice, they feel good in the hand. I love what Milwaukee is doing right now though :dunno:

The die grinder is utterly out of whack---vibration. I even ditched the original chuck and put on a Dremel keyless. Same dealio. The right angle drill has no asz at all.Slow and without torque.
In all reality I've been frustrated with rechargeables for years.I like cords and air hoses.Especially air hoses.Old age seems to make it easier to distinguish fad from fact. Brand loyalty is delusional. Find the best tool at the best value.
One big plus of the likes of Milwaukee and Rigid are the warranties. It does make the selection sensible.Too bad you can't walk in and just say "this sux, I want my money back".

You should have warrantied the die grinder right away. Chances are extremely high they would have replaced it. Or returned it to retailer w receipt early. You had choices.

It seems like a lot of people this forum has the love for Milwaukee tools.

When I got my first M18 cordless and impact back in 2009, I researched for the battery design of all the popular brands (bosch, makita, dewalt, rigid, and milwaukee). Milwaukee stuck out as having the best battery management system. I tried to preach on here about battery as the most important criteria when investing in a cordless system but nobody really care. I guess it doesn't matter about batteries but variety of tool selection and good warranty really pulls in a lot of customers, well at least on this forum.

Milwaukee M18 (and V18 and V28) did have bad battery cells (Emoli, made in canada) for several years that almost kill their reputation but now they seems to stick to Samsung (Korean made). Milwaukee is doing awesome now!

That M12 tool is a cordless replacement for a Dremel, NOT a cordless replacement for even a mini-air powered die grinder.

^^ yeah I understand that, but here is bosch's version

http://www.boschtools.com/Products/Tools/Pages/BoschProductDetail.aspx?pid=DGSH181BL#benefits

we just need Milwaukee to come through!

My post was more directed at the other guy who said it wasn't up to par.

I have no doubt Milwaukee could make a powerful 18V (or even 12V fuel) die grinder if they wanted to, and that it would be capable of much or all of what a full size air die grinder can do. I was just pointing out that that little 12V tool isn't really designed to fill that role.

They are.

Ditto. I have both the regular Milwaukee and Fuel and the Fuel are awesome. More control, more power, more life.

Long time lurker (don't let the join date fool you!), first time poster. I just love this thread and had to post some family photos.

The most recent additions are the m12 right angle drill, and the m12 hackzall (that Home Depot deal was just too good to pass up).

While I love my corded Dremel, I am strongly considering getting the m12 rotary, I hear great things about it. Also I am planning on getting the m18 fuel hammer drill very soon.

I bought my first Milwaukee, and my first cordless impact driver from CPO, a 12v Fuel and I was floored by the convenience and power in such a small tool and the battery life is great too.

I recently picked up an 18v Fuel drill/driver/hammer drill and impact wrench combo off Craiglist for 275.00, it was new.

I had some spare cash a few months ago so I ordered a 2763-20 1/2" drive impact wrench from CPO, a freaking little beast.

I am using my compressor less and less nowadays.

thanks for the reply, curious as to the comparison to the matco and snap on cordless, obviously cheaper but i'm wondering on the durability over professional use. hmmm

That is funny. I ordered my cordless ratchet 2456-21 about a week ago. It was bundled with a free tape measurer. It is actually pretty nice.

I got to use the tape measure over the weekend and it's one of the best tape measure I've used. It seems like a very well made all around tape measure

The tape measure isn't free, they just add it on to the price of the bundle online.

I have the fuel M18 lithium drill/driver combo, and would highly recommend it. Charge is fast, torque is great, and working life is good, so far. It was a toss between the Dewalt combo, and Milwaukee, but I am glad I got the Milwaukee. I look forward to expanding.

I just broke down and bought more Milwaukee.

Once received said items, I will update the family photo.

Just a random funny idea Justin, we should put family pics in the first post for all to see. HAHA
