Oh the irony when you strip the screw on your drill. Was removing the belt clips from my M12 hammer drill and impact. Impact belt clip came off without a fuss. The drill on the otherhand......

So a Milwaukee rep happened to be at HomeDepot today. Explained the irony of this and said he'd drill it out with a screw extractor. Nope it wouldn't budge, recommended I send it to the service center.

He gave me this for my troubles. So can you charge this thing with a phone charger/fast charger?

No Menards here. How do I know about the HD 11%? Is that a Black Friday thing?

No. If you were in a market with a Menards and they run there 11%, Home Depot will match it for the same week. Without a Menards you will never be able to get this at your local Home Depot.

Sent toolnut an email about the die grinder and now there is a note on the website saying it is a preorder item. Wasn't there when I tried to order earlier. I thought these were out and shipping, so how is it a preorder?ed1f6d014bd28a1dcec29c82559a9546.jpg

It’s probably a mistake (they never took it out of pre order status). I would hold onto that screen cap and put the order in, then email them and ask them to either apply the discount if it was a mistake or cancel the order. They are generally very good about this stuff, but managing all the content updates on the site is a job and a half.

Tool nut has $25 off $100 Milwaukee orders

Already went to Home Depot and ordered it.. haha.. Thanks though.
Couldn’t resist and grabbed one of the winter hats too.. dont tell my mother, i told her she could buy me one of the hats for Christmas.. lol. I gave her the model # for a black one, so i got the grey today.

So - how i wound up doing this (if this helps anyone)
HD doesnt stock the bare tool jackets in store - but if you have multiple non HD gift cards that you wanna use (for anything in Hd) - you cant stack multiple gift cards (visa/TD bank/ American Express) for online or phone orders. (From what I remember and what they told me in the store). That makes it hard to order a jacket they only sell online, if you dont wanna use your own money..

And if youre thinking you can order it online with your money, and do a return/rebuy using a different payment method - you cant. Not with something they dont stock in the store. Ive tried that once before with other stuff, and they wont do it.

So what you can do is goto the store - and buy a HD gift card using all the other gift cards you wanna stack - no matter how many.. just buy one HD gift card for the total, and keep swiping the others till the new HD card is paid for. Once you have that, theres no problem. I just had the customer service rep make the online order since i was already there. Used up my new HD gift card, and could then finally used my debit card to pay for the balance.

Jacket should be here by the end of the week.. :)

Oh - funny thing - the woman rang up the Milwaukee hat for me separately when i was done. She was like “ do you want me to put this back? This thing is $20 and you can buy a different one anywhere for like 5 bucks..”

They show it as in stock though. I ordered it and will see what happens if the ship tomorrow.

Well toolnut won't honor the promotion so cancelled the order. Nor sure how an in stock item can be considered preorder?

Yes, you should be able to charge it from any kind of USB charger for phones, etc.

So with the M12 die grinder...i have no need for another charger(4 already). So if I were to buy bare tool, would you recommend buying the-

3Ah 2 pack @ $99
1.5Ah 2 pack @ $79

or just but the kit with the 2x 2.0Ah batteries and have yet another charger and bag...

Try placing another order. It looks like they took the die grinder out of "pre-order" status and the $25 promotion is applying automatically now.

Why you got conflicting info is odd to me. Maybe one hand isn't talking to the other over there?

I would look for batteries on eBay. I have seen new in packaging twin 1.5s go for $35. Usually 2.0s new in packaging go for $30 each and 3.0s for $40 each.

If you look at ones not in packaging, there even cheaper as they are parted out from kits.

usually the compact 3.0 will be cheaper on ebay but also come with a charger that you dont need . still cheaper , wish the 8.0 would start getting cheaper.

No worries about them being Counterfeit there?

Absolutely! If it’s in the original packaging, it’s a safer bet, otherwise get the name of a legit seller someone here has bought from.

You should see how they counterfeit Spyderco knives, and ZT knives, etc, including all the packaging and documentation.

Have there been counterfeit batteries? I'm not sure how you were meaning absolutely?

If I were the Chinese I would be counterfeiting batteries. Lot of margin there.

Not sure about milwaukee, but the have been issues with counterfeit Dewalts. Like you said, lots of incentive for them and if anyone calls them out, just issue a refund, call it a loss and make your money back on the next 10 you sell.

Problem with batteries are that you may not learn they are counterfeit till they burn your house down!

If you need batteries now buy genuine off ebay.. ill assume the 3.0’s ur talking about are the bigger xc flat bottom packs. Those usually go on sale at HD after Black Friday for $79 if you wanna wait and buy them direct from a retailer.

M12 batteries come apart very easy if you dont get them in blister packs. Its very easy to check whats inside.

Get at least 2.0's, 3.0CP's would be even better. These things will eat batteries pretty quickly.

I've never had an issue. There are also a lot of knock offs on ebay though. You just have to pay attention to the listing and make sure it's a genuine battery. The knockoffs will say things like "works with Milwaukee" or "for Milwaukee."

Yep, when I looked, yesterday I think or the day before, page for the right angle grinder said the promo was not good for that item (not good for preorders) but said in stock.

This morning coincidentally I stumbled on that page again & the note was gone. Added to cart & the $25 applied so I ordered it along with the boot. Boot says won't be available until Feb '20 but hopefully they'll come in sooner.

Nice, I wanted the right angle grinder bad but was going to wait till the price came down a bit. Happy the $25 promo applied, well so far so good, hasn't shipped yet.

2.0s should be fine. That's what the kit comes with & is what most of the people who have reviewed them used.

There's a seller on ebay that has a bunch of the CP3.0 starter packs. If you're patient you can win one for $70. Many of them sell for $68-$72. I won mine for $69 shipped. Didn't need the charger but it was basically free. Got them for the Fuel ratchet, 2.0s don't last that long in the ratchet.

I aso bought another single new CP3.0 on offerup last week for $35. Plan was to use for the right angle die grinder that I was planning to purchase when the price came down. Ended up buying one this morning though.

Anyone know who may be offering the following E-Rebates?

milwaukeetool.com/e-rebates/auto

Looks like there are some good deals through the end of the year, but purchases need to be through the automotive distribution channel.

Everyone is talking so much about the Icon line that no one noticed that Milwaukee has released a new 90 tooth 1/2 ratchet.

Never had an issue. Usually the fakes look completely different from the originals. Try looking at sellers with high ratings. There are sellers who are online hardware stores and can offer better pricing, and those who part out kits.

If you have any doubt, just post a link to their listing.

Hopefully, the 1/4” and 3/8” SAE & Metric socket sets will be on my work truck soon.. i saw the 1/2” set online but i really dont need that. I really dont even need the others either - but on rare occasions its a life saver to have an actual socket ‘set’ instead of just the 3 sizes i use. Esp useful for the projects to help set up a work truck to your liking..

Ive been eliminating all the rattles on the digger i have now. Tried to tighten a rusty 10mm bolt for the fiberglass fender that was rattling over bumps. Of course it broke off - and now theres a paper towel wedged under it to eliminate the vibration - but it took me 3 days to get to it cause i dont have a socket set yet..

Should be picking up my new heated jacket tomorrow. Got the alert on my phone that my order is expected to be delivered to HD Friday.

If Milwaukee made some comfortable work jeans - i swear i would buy them.. its like impossible to find loose fitting jeans anymore because of these friggin millennials and their ****** skinny jeans. My ‘loose’ carhartts are so old and worn out, theres no mystery about what color underwear i have on when i wear them.. (the PANTS)

Where the **** are my sun glasses Milwaukee?????????????

One of these days ill have to try this again - but i went to a few different places trying on all the well known **** that you dont wanna care about at work - like Lee, Wrangler, a bunch of others. It might be me - cause stupid things bother me with clothes sometimes, but i couldnt find anything that i didnt find annoying. Carhartt got rid of their ‘loose fit’ last time i was looking, and the best i could manage was ‘relaxed fit’.. i use to love my ‘baggy’ Old Navy carpenter & painter jeans years ago - but these millennials **** everything up.. lol Nest spring imma have to look for some new work pants. Ill make it through winter.

That's a pretty big head on that there ratchet,sir...

Yeah, I was a little disappointed on how wide it is. 1 11/16 x 47/64. Even my Harbor Freight extendable 1/2 ratchet is narrower.

I know this gets thrown around way too much...but it does feel good in the hand. I won't get to try it out for a few days.

Notice most use 2" roloc on the new m12 angle grinder. Any reason against using a 3" roloc? I have an extra kit and hundreds of discs as that's the size I use with my pneumatic die grinders.
