Is it big difference in size and weight between gen1 and gen2 fuel m18 drill/driver(without hammerfunction)!? Yes I know about the insane torque on gen2[emoji106] My old generation m18 fuel drill feels a little big and heavy, if the size matters I trade to gen2[emoji1]

New here but I bleed M18. Not pictured are my corded Milwaukee tools but it seems that these days most of those are out on loan.

Hah, I'd only consider myself a tool polisher when it comes to edged tools and chainsaws. All of the tools are used but as I don't use them in my trade and don't have much shop time these days they may not show significant wear for some time. I do tend to baby the cordless tools more while throwing the corded ones around, for some reason.

The corded equivalents of these were mostly moved to my parents' shop for their (and my) use during an ongoing remodel and construction in their new shop. The only corded Milwaukee I have left in the shop does proudly show its wear.

drill.jpg

I've been on a mission over the past couple years to replace certain corded tools with their cordless counterparts. After completing my own remodel with corded / pneumatic tools I'm favoring portability due to being involved in the same efforts on my parents' and mother in law's houses.

Aside from the the band saw none were bought new by me. I mostly capitalized on my brother buying larger and larger M18 tool sets (thus having duplicates) and CraigsList. So while I have less than retail into these and each purchase has been spread out over time, they're certainly not cheap. But with the exception of one M18 drill (broke within two hours of use), they've yet to let me down and have proven to be a good investment.

28v 1/4 impact driver

Here's an old 1/4 impact v18, that I modified to run 28v batteries.

Almost as good as my fuel impacts!

Yeah, uh, you need to post details (preferably in a separate thread) on how to convert V18 to V28/M28!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see dirt cheap V18 tools on CL (for good reason as Milwaukee so quickly abandoned it)

My wife got me this (along with the brushless hammer drill) for the birthday... Now I have a list of projects she wants me to do at home... Now I just need the cordless M12 circular saw to be the next gift.

please can someone tell when they will be making a chainsaw like Makitas 12" bar 2x18v batteries?

Contact Milwaukee at milwaukeetool.com. I've been asking for awhile now. But I think it could be a 14" bar - the Ryobi 40V brushless is.

I refuse to store the fully enclosed guards for my Fuel grinders as I'll NEVER use them. So they go in the scrap pile and the wife turns them into this.

My jacket died mid winter last year (4-years old) and I was unable to find a replacement. I ordered replacements a couple of weeks ago and they finally came in today!

I did this is the response I got from them.

"At the moment we don’t have info for availability. Please stay tune on new products coming up in Jan."

I am hoping they release one in jan

Thank you! Jan seems like an odd time to release a chainsaw, but maybe. BUT the bigger issue is that the more requests they get, the more likely they are to listen. Honestly I think Milwaukee is trying really hard to avoid the lawn equipment market, but the more pressure they get from competitors and consumers, the more they'll have to take notice.

Nice! I ordered the new 2399 women's jacket for the wife this morning, and a black vest for myself.

What I really want is a black jacket w a hood. Their new offerings are f'd up; they told me the only jacket w a hood is the hi-viz yellow. I could also SWEAR the camo jacket that comes in the camo 3-in-1 kit also has a hood, but the guy who responded seemed to suggest otherwise -- I think he's wrong.

Otherwise you can get a black 3-in-1 but the hood is part of the hoodie, and the hoodie is unique to the 3-in-1, not the same as the standalone hoodies. But in the camo 3-in-1 kits you get a VEST, not a hoodie. Screwy.

Basically I want the configuration of the camo (Realtree) 3-in-1, but in black. It doesn't exist. It seems like they've really complicated product offerings not only for the consumer but for themselves on the manufacturing side, and made some big assumptions about who would want what based solely on the color of the clothing.

mind me asking where you got them from?

A local electrical supply company that happens to be a Milwaukee dealer. I believe Home Depot sells the jackets without batteries if you order online. The various stores around me that stock the heated gear only stock the kits with batteries and chargers.

I broke down and bought the 2407-22B combo yesterday at HD; 3/8" 2407 drill and "free" Bluetooth speaker. I just wanted the speaker. With a Lowe's 10% match the whole kit was $80. I'm keeping the speaker and 2 batteries. I gave the drill and charger to a local non-profit who runs M12 (in part due to my influence of course)

Great to donate but in case you need another one, Amazon has the M12 BT speaker for $36

Meh, it's about what you'd expect from a single small speaker. Best suited as mild background noise in a louder environment, or good for "personal" use in a smaller or quieter area. It doesn't go that loud

I was looking for better BT sound from my phone and the M12 was louder but didn't sound much better. At higher volumes it starts to distort. Nice small size for portability and the batteries last long. Looking for another M12/18 BT version with stereo sound to make the effort worth it.

Milwaukee M12 Fuel Hammer Drill and Impact Driver 2597-22 at Home Depot for $199, Is this a good deal?

Wondering if I might be better off getting the M18 Combo or waiting for the Holiday Sales.

lol, yeah.. the last few pictures have been a BIT large...

Let us know how you like the right angle impact. I almost bought one probably 10 times but never did pull the trigger, then they had some bad reviews so I lost interest

It's a great idea.. just not sure if it's strong enough to be useful

Just used the 2668 right angle impact to do a header swap on my buddies 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. The passenger side header bolts were pretty rusted and tight clearance with the inner fender. The 2668 with a short impact socket just fit in the space. My buddy had already broken the torque on all the bolts before I got there, but it probably would have taken 30 minutes to get all the bolts out with a conventional ratchet due to the rust and limited arc swing. I was able to zip all of them off in less than 2 minutes. In the right circumstances such as the headers where you have about 15º of arc swing on rusted bolts with a conventional ratchet, this thing worked like a champ.

Did an impromptu test as well. Set my torque wrench to 65 ft/lbs and tightened the lug nut on my trailer using a 13/16" impact socket and 3/8" to 1/2" drive adapter. I put the adapter and socket onto the 2668 and it was able to break the torque and removed the nut, but it took about 10 seconds to do so. I tried again at 70 ft/lbs but this time it wasn't able to break the torque. As I said before, depending on the circumstances, this is a handy tool to have. Is it a must have? Probably not. It is useful to me however.

Did anyone.buy the new black 3 in 1 ripstop heated jacket? Im very interested in that. My family nags me every year to add stuff to my amazon wishlist for.Christmas.. Im leaning towards either ANOTHER heated jacket or the high torque impact wrench.. Maybe the right.angle too just as another toy.. Its either this or gift cards again..

I just got my wife the womans heated jacket and it works pretty good.

I'm tempted to get the 3 in 1 for myself as I can get it for $209 with battery and charger...

Milwaukee has stated that their focus is on contractor tools and that they will not enter the garden tool market because it would take away from the contractor tool image the company has (can't find the article, but it was mentioned somewhere in this thread a while back). There seems to be a large demand for this from the average consumer, so maybe they will change their mind. TTI, who owns Milwaukee, also owns Ryobi which has numerous garden tools. It would be any easy market for them to get into.

The M12 Speaker works well for small areas, I have my old ipod hooked to it.
I bought the combo for 99.00, then sold the drill and batteries for 99.00 on eBay.

Heated jackets? You guys need to move..!

Might have to invest in the dewalt trimmer at this time then

Just received the 2704-22 hammer drill. Got the M18 Lantern as bonus. Just entered everything into One-Key for tracking. So far I like both the drill and the management system.
