Whats the current word on the 12ah batteries? Any issues on them like the 9ah had? Im deciding on (2) 6ah HO or a 12ah with a free 8ah starter kit, both for $249. I have a ton of 5ah, so I was leaning toward the 8ah/12ah deal for tools like the blower and vacuums, but if the 12ah has lingering issues, I'll pass

Anyone have recs on the best modern lights from Milwaukee on either M18 or M12? I've got a m18 stick light and a little puck braun light. Looking for something I can light up a crawl space or attic or shed.

I was looking into the m18 latern, but I see its 8 years old at this point. Similarly the m12 rover looked cool, but not sure if its large enough for that.

There are a lot of options...

If theres any non-m18/m12 options that people like more I'm open to that too.
I just use the cheap little led lanterns. My favorite is a little streamlight that takes 3 AA batteries. Depending on what you are doing I prefer to have several smaller light sources in that type of environment to cut down on shadows.
I don't think the Milwaukee lights are really worth the price other than the under hood light which may work well for your needs. The M12 rover also seems to get good reviews.

I bought some lights because I already had the batteries but it turned out my Astro lights are way better for automotive work. Perhaps if I did construction I would like the rocket or tower lights.

As far as batteries I like the HO 6.0s as the sweet spot. I don't think the 8 or 12s are worth the money.

I picked up three over the holidays, all Aug/Sep 2022 date codes, they’ve been fine. I made sure to get them from an authorized retailer (which is tough to do without paying through the nose), but only to maximize the warranty period, starting at the purchase date vs. the mfg date.

I’ve measure the cells a few times now and they’re all staying in balance. I’ve been using them pretty hard 2x week since mid February with OPE, too. We have a long growing season down here 🤠

The M12 lantern and rover are both great. Both also have USB charge ports. I use them c amping and when the power is out in addition to using them as work lights.
Me too. Most of my lights are bought as work lights and emergency lights. I think highly of the lantern for what it is. I have 2 that I picked up on ebay for $35 each. Lot to like. Charging port, 3 levels, lantern or more directed beam, batteries last a long time on the lowest setting. As a general matter they aren't the brightest light you will find so if your goal is overpowering the sun this isn't the best choice. I don't like the switch design or placement. Overall, a nice light

I think I am addicted to Milwaukee vacuum attachments now. Didn't realize there is a flexible long reach crevice tool.

I'm not seeing anything like this, but I'll ask anyways...

Does Milwaukee make a cordless (M18 prefererably) hammer? Like an air hammer, but battery powered?

I'd be using it primarily for vehicle suspension work (chisels, pickle forks, etc.).

Thanks.

Unfortunately not.

The SDS Max drill I believe is approaching air hammers in terms of power, but in terms of packaging its no air hammer being 5x+ in size.

I have the puny SDS plus m18 drill in bullpup form. On chisel mode its a weakling compared to my .401 air hammers. No comparison with the .498 hammers.

No one does yet but just a matter of time. Someone leaked that Snap-on is coming out with one. After that I'm sure others will follow. And if/when MW makes one, you'll have to wait for the gen2 or gen3 for it to be any good. ;)

I have one specific job that needs it now. If I have to wait 5-10 years for Milwaukee to get a good one to market, I'll be too old to work on my own suspension systems...

Can anyone give me a little insight on how well the m18 inflator works on pool floats and rafts? I have the m12 and it’s very slow. Works great for tires and inflating basketballs but it leaves a lot to be desired blowing up rafts. Trying to save myself from having to get the m18 air compressor. Thanks in advance

I got the boot and extended switch anvil for my 3/8" long high speed ratchet. Installing the tall knob was not exactly fun, compressing the springs and running the absolutely tiny snap ring pliers was tough.

Long vs regular high speed ratchets.

I'd really like to have a set of those electric ratchets. Hope they are treating you well.

Milwukee now has a new top handle chainsaw. I've seen one review so far. Milwaukee claims 250 cuts vs 150 for old model per 12ah battery. I wonder too about the mowers that use 2 12ah batteries. Worth it?

Anyone try to use the 2/3 drawer packout unit with the packout Racking Kit? I couldn't get the drawer to mount to the lower shelf, only the upper shelf. Am I retarded or does this just not work?

M18 Inflator is great!! I don't even use my M12 version anymore. I regret not getting it sooner. I'm going on vacation this Saturday so I will try it out on a blow up mattress and beach floats. I forget to bring it last year which was a mistake.

Edited to add: I also pair it with the JACO Lightning S2X Tire Inflator Nozzle.

If I haven't set a target pressure, should the inflator keep running when I hit the start button like the M12, mine will only run as long as I am pressing the start button if I haven't set a target pressure.

Anyone thing they’ll ever release a fuel m12 dremel? I want one badly but buying non-fuel M12 tools seems like a bad idea if you can wait.
I have the it and have used it often. I only use it on the lower settings. I think the highest I've gone is 5? It has done everything I wanted it to just fine. I have an actual wired Dremel and I don't use it anymore. If I was doing longer cutting or maybe heavier duty I might go back to my wired unit or even step up to an actual grinder.

Milwaukee Packout Handtruck

I already have a Magliner with a extended bed
Bought the Packout hand truck cause I'm a red Nerd and I have Packets...
Never used the Handtruck until today. as I just had a use case to move a 150lb item...

Anyhow, be curious if you are guys are using a Packout Handtruck and how...
I mean the frame is plastic, and bed is metal but it's still mounted to plastic.
It is kinda -heavy- given for what it is - mainly plastic cart with a metal bed.
Wondering how light or heavy duty you guys are using your packout cart

I see the Milwaukee 18v leaf blower is on sale at Home Depot. $179 with a freebie of two 6Ah batteries and a charger. Two questions:

How do you owners like this unit?

Is this a good deal or is it a "this isn't coming along again so grab it today" deal?

I'm pretty sure get the M36 is the answer but I am curious.
I enjoy the extra punch of the dual battery blower, but I do use a v1 and v2 m18 for smaller cleanup tasks.

@MarcSeattle FYI - it was going for about $100 back in the fall after using the $10 per amp hour battery rule of thumb. HD had a package for $200 for the blower and 2 X 5.0s (plus a charger). Because of this I don't think the current HD deal is all that great, but at the same time maybe the Milwaukee deals are sliding downhill.

@Odd-job: Wait, $200 for the blower including 2x 5Ah batteries doesn't sound as good as $179 including 2x 6Ah batteries and charger. Did I read your post correctly?

@Tallpilot: The 18v version is fine for my use, I don't need either the runtime of the 36v dual-battery or faster airspeed. This for an in-city home rather than a farm or rural house. My ideal would be quiet:
  • easy to maneuver (low swing weight)
  • enough airspeed adjustability to clear the paved areas but not blow the cedar beauty bark out of the planting areas
  • not break the bank

If it's $179 including 2x 6.0s & charger, that's a heck of a deal!

But that's not what I'm seeing. The sale I see right now is get the blower free ($179 value) with a qualifying purchase. I don't see buy the blower & get the batts free but the opposite. Buy the 2x 6.0s & charger & get the blower free for $299.99.

The 18V is good for patios and driveways but is not going to do much on a lawn unless it is a tiny lawn. I have both. The 36V is decent but does not have the run time to do real landscaping work. It is also heavier.

@darkzero: Ah, I see, I put it in my cart for checkout. They were sneaky and "free gift" wasn't really free. Yes, $299 for the blower + 2x6Ah + charger is definitely not as good as $179 like the page implied.

I'm skeptical that they would, as it would pretty much be a M12 straight die grinder with a 1/8" collet. 1/4" to 1/8" collet adapters exist so technically you can make the uber dremel if so desired.

I have the M12 dremel, it's... adequate for the scope of what a dremel should be used for. But we all know Milwaukee products are for beating like a cabin screen door and the M12 dremel tends to overheat when you're pounding through battery after battery using it like a die grinder. They do cool down in the time it takes to drink one beer if you put them in the freezer.

I got as far as adding it to my cart, before I realized it wasn't a good deal. They are getting tricky. Before I found this forum I was none the wiser either.
