Picked up a Black Friday sale Milwaukee M12 "Dremel" tool at Home Depot (Next door to Harbor Freight).

Years ago I tore about a 1/2" of a finger tip off on a commercial fishing boat.

Part of a nail still grows on the stub.

The best way to trim that nail is with a Dremel tool....lol

How bad does an injury like that hurt?

I've had some nasty cuts and once poked a screwdriver all the way through my hand so it came out the other side working on a Jaguar XJS ☹️

Hurt pretty good.
De-gloved it. Caught in the bight of a line. Pulled the meat off, just the bone sticking out the end.
This pic was after they cut the bone off.

Anyone seeing deals on the brushless m12 dremel I think is 2525-20?

also could use m18 pack out fan. Honestly any deal on either would be good I don’t feel right paying retail for anything Milwaukee.

I wanted another M18 CP3.0 HO, saw this at HD for $100 so I bought one. I haven't opened it yet cause I was having second thoughts on what I would use the Top Off for. After a bit of reading sounds like the Top Off is not worth it & many have had them fail.

Have they been useful to you guys? Simply charging a phone or something else is not useful to me.

I'm really thinking about returning it now.

While on my 2nd top off I think its useful to power smaller electronics with my horde of m18 batteries. Can recharge less power demanding laptops with ~40w via the USB C and being able to charge things in a cordless manner is sometimes mandatory. I do wish it had more USB ports to charge multiple devices at once vs just the one USB and one USB C.

For $70, after factoring $10 per amp hour for the 3.0, with an inverter I think its a steal.

OK so there is a guy all mad in the deals thread about how something didn't work out for him and he said screw Milwaukee, he is going back to DeWalt. I don't know why but it made me think of the Milwaukee/DeWalt fishing video for some reason and I can't remember if anyone posted it here so now I'm posting it up.
I hope this gets you a good laugh today. I wanted to post it as a reply in the deals thread but its TOO off topic for that thread so I'm posting it here instead.

Did this thread die?!? Zombie thread rise....

Just posting to complain my M18 compressor has $hit the bed again. Pressure switch clicks, but compressor doesn't fill....again.

Was rushing to fix a flat on the family minivan which the wife forgot to tell me about. M18 compressor of course fails me halfway through filling the tire up. Milwaukee did redeem itself when the m12 inflator finished the job.

I have to check if its still under warranty. Part of me wishes they could just send me a switch. Finding a box and packing it appropriately is painful.

Well that sux. You could just bypass the switch to finish the job and cut the power off when the tank gets full enough. Obviously not safe but sometimes you gotta be the safety switch.

Luckily this was at home where there was a lot of inflation options and not on the side of the road. I think I might try rigging up a more robust pressure switch since its already on its 2nd. Am first going to bring it inside to see if the 40 degrees outside was causing it to be a diva.

If I was to ask for one Milwaukee tool with battery for Christmas what should it be? I was thinking an electric impact to swap tires at the track etc... M18 most likely?? Will that be too big for most under hood mechanical stuff?

Thanks

You could try one of the new compact Milwaukee impacts. There is a M12 stubby that does 550 lbs for example. Wheels might be torqued only to 100, but with a little New England corrosion, sometimes my M18 Mid Torque won’t remove nuts and I have to pull out the big heavy M18 High Torque. But you could always use a breaker bar to loosen a little and then spin them off with the impact.

I started at the track with the old Milwaukee High Torque that did 350 lbs and a then $59 on sale HF 1.5 ton aluminum jack.

I'd say go for that new stubby that does 550 but remember it only does 550 with the new bigger 5.0 M12 battery so make sure you get it with that battery too and then get a 2.5 M12 smaller footprint battery for when you are in tight spaces. As the torque test channel put it, Milwaukee stuffed a big block into a compact platform with that one. Just don't expect it to run full tilt on 87 octane with a street tune =)

Looked at the Milwaukee website but could not find a M12 stubby that had 500 ft/lbs torque. Do you have a part number by chance? Thank you.

There is also a friction ring model isn't there?

Yes. Model #2563.

They also have a 3/8" version, model #2562.

New Milwaukee tools as per

The highlights for me were an m18 stick pump, a bunch of new chargers, gen 2 blade right circular saw, more packout, and dual battery vacuum with AC option. Not sure I saw anything that I really "need".

I don't pay much weight re: cordless blower specs....as it doesn't match my gasser

However....it does appear the M18 Dual Battery does have more CFM than my much older Dewalt 40V. Both fresh charged battery packs. Not powdery snow but ocean-wet snow. Not alot on the car paint, but enough. The dewalt did not manage to move it but the M18 did get it clean. Granted, the cars panel was super clean (it was washed yesterday) , so there should be little to no tension on it from grit..

Always grab the dual battery first as well. It definitely has more punch for wet leaves and has a greater chance of dislodging the stubborn french fry the kids wedged in between the seat cushions. Not objective, but my old man thinks it has more power than his small(er) gas Stihl backpack blower. It definitely likes to **** up batteries like a Hoover though. 2x12.0's help with the range anxiety, but can get heavy after a while especially when trying to dual wield with a m18 single battery blower.

Speaking of which was curious if anyone has the new v3 of the m18 single battery blower. Any notable differences vs the V2?

Not sure if you mean the 3017-20 model, but I have it. I haven't used any of the other models (older, or dual battery), so I can't compare it to anything. It has been excellent for my use-cases, though. I mostly use it to clean our the garage and get leaves off the driveway/sidewalk. I haven't run into any situations where I've needed more power/CFM, but I also don't move giant piles of wet leaves.

I've had V1, 2, and 3 of the single battery blowers and I don't think theres too much difference in terms of power between them, but the V3 is definitely quieter than the V2 was.

Anyone running a stubby nozzle.
Being the GJF and a Milwaukee thread.....

I have 2 of the dual blowers. I used to run my stubby nozzle setup exclusively to dry the car.....
However.....

I reach for the my stock nozzle to reach the top of our SUV.
Since using both on the same panels....

There is more CFM with the stock nozzle than the stubby.
I really briefly reading on CFM loss or potential of when I bought the stubby nozzle. I didn't see anything negative re it.

However, if one was to use one and then the other, on same blower and battery setup, you could see there was a slight loss in power with the Stubby

I used the stubby nozzle once on my dual and have ever since left the stock on in the set and forget it kind of mentality, ie laziness. Just didn't seem to make a meaningful impact in my use cases of yards and cars. Might change my mind if they came up with a good vortex nozzle.

edit: I wonder if this is like shorter vs longer gun barrel lengths

Update - the good ole jiggling the wires trick seems to have resolved the issue this time around. Even though I swore I did this initially. There was a loose connector on the blue wires that lead into the regulator. Might need to solder them as the spade connector doesn't look like a very secure connection on something that vibrates.

Also added a grease port to the bar of my m18 top handle chainsaw by drilling a small hole by the sprocket. The 16 inch had a grease port, not sure why the top handle 14 inch doesn't have one.

Was kind of nice to alternate between the two today. 16 inch definitely preferable bucking while the 14 inch was nice dealing with the 6 inch and less stuff. Forge batteries don't seem to heat up like the HO's.

I've put a few different batteries right into overheat with my chain saw. Sounds like the forge batteries are the hot ticket for these tools. The 9.0 REALLY doesn't like the chainsaw lol

Anybody try the BOLT hardhats? Considering the forestry style setup. More expensive than Husky and Stihl, less expensive than the gold standard Pfanner Protos.
