I have a 1980s Black and Decker corded reciprocating saw. So far, no mid-end cordless saw has come close to matching its power. But, 4 feet of cord and it not playing well with most extension cords due to high amperage is a pain.
I'm thinking M18 Sawzall should do EXACTLY what I need for rough wood cutting, demo, and pruning work. But, M12 Hackzall would be great for tight spaces and most pruning (while underpowered, my little Hyper Tough 12V saw has been handy being so small).
Or just see what I can get in combo kits as sales happen, since my Hyper Tough 12V stuff is scheduled for a Milwaukee upgrade?
For stuff I have to have in cordless, I'm not sure if I'm trying to avoid duplicates and spending too much money. My Craftsman 20V kit is the impact driver (the top of the line Brushless RP--so pretty decent compared to the cheap ones) and Sawzall. I'd like to add a 1/2 impact wrench for working on a buddy's stuff, as well as not having to drag around an extension cord. My 12V kit is a Bosch drill (which I see no need to upgrade--it's a nice tool), and pretty mediocre Hyper Tough 12V mini reciprocating saw and impact. I keep looking at installation drivers as well (as I really don't need an impact for most indoor stuff) and a 12V oscillating tool would be nice.
