Looks nice! Says 115 cfm on battery in one place and 125 cfm in another place. Which is it? Probably expensive so I will have to continue with my original dual battery 9 gallon for a while.

I stand corrected Looks like it is a slight improvement in CFM - 106 for the gen 1 dual battery vs 115 for the gen 2/Nexus vs 125 for the dust extractor.

Not sure why they standard spec a 1 7/8 hose when they have a 2.5 inch option. Also the dust extractor has a weird 36mm hose apparently.

I mentioned this before but never received any comments on it. The first time trying out mine the 1-7/8” hose felt and sounded like a restriction. I’ve been meaning to try out the larger hose just to see if that’s the case. But once I put it away, I don’t give it another thought until the next time I use it.

for the new Nexus dual battery its 115 according to Milwaukee. The 125 is for the dust extractor which has dual battery and corded capability. Doubtful the ~8% difference is going to be noticeable.

I like the fact that Milwaukee is bringing a lot of "Euro" features to the vacuum lineup, but the smaller hoses (and inlets) are really a handicap. I think someone tested the larger hose and noted there a large difference in air volume and perceived suction.

Here is a good video of the gen1 vs gen2 vacs:
I think he did another video on the gen1 vac where he slurped up water from a 5gal bucket. The larger hose flows a lot better than the smaller hose. I think the new dust extractor comes with the larger hose.

The new dedicated dust extractor is pretty badass but I think I'll stick to the regular gen 2 vac with the vaclink so I can use it with my table saw and other tools. The price is rough on the dedicated extractor and I'm not sure it works as a wet vac so I'll just get the dust extractor add on for the vac and that should do everything I need. Might need to upgrade to the larger hose for cleaning the car, I get leaves in the weirdest places in my cars... Really need to get rid of that ash tree in my front yard or at least trim it this year before it starts to shed.

I thought the strut shear was nice when Red finally released on...although Dewalt had one for at least some time already....

And the Black Pipe Shear - which goes up to 1".........if the cuts look as clean as they do, it's heckuva tool for the tradesman making cuts in black pipe in those sizes. I'm more mindful on how much **** these days I buy. Don't think I can self talk myself into this even though I own both their M12/M18 press, dies and KO tool as such

Off topic. I do have the M18 cutoff saw.....
Since then Forge batteries have come out

Will there ever be a full size cutoff saw or **NO** as they don't it to compete with the MX line (which of course I have no interest in MX ) as a consumer

I've been watching videos.....granted I don't really care if a new driver/drill or the like is 3-5 seconds faster driving a screw.....these days.
However, looks like quite the improvement on their hammer drills tho

Little Guy Indeed.

I've always just wanted a M18 14".......but the MX has always been in this realm . With the new Forge batteries with the slight bump in pow...ah......any reason why TTI can't release a M18 14" is my wishful thinking

Any fellow GJF have the precision blower...

I have mine on order. Just a cordless air powered can I suppose. Perfect for blowing out tools, tables etc instead of the compressor

Here is a wall mounted option for storing your Milwaukee power tools, This is the the universal shelf that will fit almost all brands and we are working on M12 and M18 a wall mounted solution to mount batteries and chargers.

What are your Top 3 Milwaukee platform lights Lights.

I have alot....even a few in duplicates on the M18 rocket and such

For me, it's the underhood, M12 Rocket and the original M18 Floody. M18 Floody being used the most. I think partially due to how it has the -=to= handle to use while grabbing for a task.

Too bad Red doesn't have anything to compare to my Icon Sticklight tho

Haters gonna hate. What about the SnapOn knock off neck light? I've been thinking about getting one of those Snappy neck lights but I've got 2 headlamps with the interchangeable battery already so I was thinking about going with the Milwaukee one instead.

What's the consensus on Milwaukee cordless sanders?
1758829206526.png

I've never had a corded or cordless sander before as I've never really needed one. Used a couple at various points working on projects but never had my own. It's finally time for me to get something and while I don't do a ton of woodworking I expect this would be used 95% on wood.

I'm starting to slowly collect Milwaukee cordless tools and now have some M12 and M18 stuff and batteries/chargers for both systems. So my natural urge here is to get an M18 Fuel RO sander. But at $229 it's not exactly cheap for something that won't see a ton of use. HD has a free tool promo right now which if I return that looks like the price for the sander comes down to $128 so that's not too bad.

Just wondering if it'd be smarter to save a few bucks and just get a corded sander which would probably be $60-90.

The non-fuel version 2648-20 might be the way to go at ~$100. Haven't felt the need for more power for a 5 inch RO sander. Battery life is still decent also. Am always glad not to have another cord to trip over or deal with.

The fuel version is pretty new and is still therefore carrying the new tool premium. Maybe at $150ish it would be reasonable IMHO.

Thats worth considering. I've kinda assumed it's always best to just bite the bullet and get the Fuel stuff as I'm the type of guy who typically likes the higher end models of stuff. But I'm also willing to save a buck when it makes sense to do so.

With current HD promos the Fuel RO sander would be $129 vs $86 for the non-Fuel version.

With this pricing would definitely get the Fuel version. Do you mind including the link? Not sure I am seeing that pricing factoring in the free batteries at $10 per amp hour.

Hopefully I'm not misunderstanding the promotion. I'll be honest that I've never actually done the "buy the promo and return the free tool" hack before so I could be missing something.

Here's what it looks like in my cart. $229 retail price, then you get a free Impact Driver. Return the impact driver and I should only be paying $128.53 for the sander. Which is feeling more and more like a good deal. There's also an option to get a free 5.0 battery but I already have 3 of those so that's not really useful to me and I'd rather just get the discount on the tool.

Didn't see the impact. That's a pretty good deal if you are ok going through the slight hassle of the return process. I've personally forsaken it due to some negative experiences and hassle of trying to split and return.

Interesting, seems people do it all the time. But as I mentioned this would be my first. I'm pretty familiar with returns, in general, at HD but not under this situation. I'm in the middle of a garage remodel so I've been buying and returning lots of stuff recently.

Did you have problems specifically related to the "free" item promotions? Or just general return issues?

I got the Milwaukee addiction 40 years ago building our first house. Lately been getting into packouts and battery powered tools.

Took the back seat out of my Jeep, installed a packout wall bracket on a piece of mdf to the seat brackets and have my packouts mounted so that they don’t slide around.

Not sure what's the best practice these days, but it was far easier when the order could be split between delivered to home and store. I would order the stuff that I want to be delivered to home and then let the stuff that I didn't want get returned to inventory at the store by exceeding the time limit. Now I believe it either has to be shipped all to one or the other (home vs store). I then started shipping all to store, but a couple of times the order was incomplete when I went to pickup. One time they just outright canceled the order after having me wait with my impatient young kids for an hour at the pickup citing it was a glitch (wasn't that great of a deal). Ultimately, it was a personal choice to conclude it wasn't worth the time and effort. These days when there is an HD promo I always ship to home and I just keep the extra item (usually the batteries) or gift it to a friend or relative. They say possession is 9/10ths of the law and getting it shipped to home seems to eliminate a lot of the variables IMHO.

Anyone with a packout dust separator cut out the inlet? Am pretty sure its functioning as an air restrictor with the 2.5 inch hoses I am running. It almost looks like it is designed to be cutout. I also tried popping out the inlet, but it seems that's a no go.

I’ve done the hack maybe a half dozen times. Absolutely no problems returning the unneeded tool or battery. I’ve just walked in and showed them the paper receipt or my online order receipt. Put the refund back on my card and done. I’ve always gone inside for the returns since there’s 3 Home Depot’s that I drive past all the time.
The only question I get asked is if there’s anything wrong with the product. I always answer no, I just decided I don’t need it and it’s still new and unopened. Smile and say thanks. Done deal.
I haven’t done the hack for awhile now but would if the deal was worth it.

Looks like my rear mower skirt has seen better days. Any generic versions fit well? Or do I do some plastic welding or zip tie jankyness?

The Milwaukee part seems to be back order type of item at $30 plus shipping across the country...

Mine hasn't seen enough use for that to happen yet but my ancient craftsman eager 1 is beat up however still looks better than that. Looks like maybe they used cheap materials. Might be better off with an aftermarket one.

Yea I think it is just made cheap vs typical Milwaukee high grade plastic. I swore there was just a small tear on one side a few weeks ago, and now its hanging on by a thread. I might try to 3D print one with TPU.

Mine is also doing the same thing on one side. I noticed it last fall and it doesn't seem to have gotten any worse this summer. This was my third summer with it.

Picked these up last week and not sure why. I was looking at them and google must have been selling my info to the Home Depot and all of the sudden these were $170 as a kit with batteries and charger and a drill index. The more I looked the more the deal got sweeter.
IMG_1620.jpeg

These are the subcompact version and about 20% smaller than the fuel versions which I already have 2 sets. As I said not sure why I got them but hoping to keep the impact tucked in my tool bag.

You got them because you needed an even more compact set so you can keep them in your glovebox?
