I think you did great w the light pics. Too bad you don't have the M12 LED light to show that it's no different than the M18 LED light, ie the first light you pictured.

Great job with those pics.

I'm surprised by the m12 stick light vs the m18 stick light. The performance of the 18v doesn't look TOO much better than the 12v. Maybe it's just me but I figured there would be a more obvious difference

I picked this up today, comes with a free battery...

Just kidding, but I did pick these up. And someone else mentioned what I didn't realize until I got home... three flats and one phillips. Oh well, they still seem to be pretty good quality. Going to buy a 1/2" impact, bare tool soon. Gotta have it!

I actually think the M12 outperforms the M18 light in these pictures. The edge of the light hits about the exact same spot on the slats on each side for both lights, but I think the M12 is more even and full from top to bottom. Definitely not worth picking up as an "upgrade".

I do, actually. Well, it's my mom's and I didn't feel like figuring out where it is. I can add it at some point.

Also, the M18 lights were done with the same fully charged 4.0. The m12s were done with the same fully charged 2.0.

Great job on the light pictures! I appreciate you taking the time to do that. Those lanterns really put off a lot more light than I was expecting. I would be curious to see how they compare to the hex flood light.

Yeah, this is why I was thinking the M12 stick light and M18 lantern are probably the best pair to get for the best "coverage" of tasks. The lantern looks like it could light up a pretty decent sized dark room, and the M12 stick light with the threaded mount can be put anywhere if you get the right accessories (the LineLoc stuff listed in another thread)

Before this is over I see the M18 lantern in my future, and Im still hemming/hawing on the high torque impact.

Went to order a second M12 vac from toolnut.com for my FIL's birthday, got a notice saying they're OOS and claiming 7-10 days. His birthday isn't for nearly 3 weeks so hopefully it'll work out.

Have you received the first vac? How do you like it?

I have the makita hand held that is used in our house as a "dustbuster" and sweaps the floors. Would love to know how it compares. I may pick up an m12 vac for shop only use.

I would agree with you on the m12 stick and m18 lantern. I just can't decide between the lantern and the floodlight. One of the 2 will be coming home with me before this deal is over.

Do you guys think that milwaukee will make a cordless air hammer on the m18 line any time soon? I can't image it would be difficult to make.

Sorry if this has been discussed numerous times, couldn't find much in the search function... 1/4" or 3/8" m12 ratchet? They appear to be about the same size online. I figure they really shine in tight spots, so why would I get the 3/8 over the 1/4? Besides that I have a little bit more sockets/adapters/extension/swivels in 3/8.

Which do you use most often? I use it as a replacement mostly for my ratchet. It is awesome. I have the 3/8.

when you get some time, give a review of the dust buster. It looks pretty good.

It's pretty much covered in the link in post #1378 in this thread.

As for the ratchets, where was the picture of the 3/8 and 1/4 side by side? The 1/4 looked considerably smaller? I've only touched the 3/8 so I wouldn't know.

Someone talk some sense into me. I'm seriously considering getting these with the promo

If you need 4.0 Ah Ryobi, might want to "test" the promo with the $75 Ryobi Li batteries. Somewhat skeptical with the performance of the battery powered inflater/deflator since many 12V units are just okay for emergencies. Too bad Ryobi did not make this a hybrid powered unit with 12V option. Bottom line....only one way to find out and don't use the GC...lol

How close are the ryobi batteries to being compatible to m18 tools. Would be interested in getting an airstrike nailer but don't want another battery platform

Neat week-end project: search for the clearanced unloved incandescent M18 Milwaukee work light, use the rotary tool or tool of your choice to cut off the bottom of the work light to make your own Ryobi-to-Milw adapter

Just a picture of the milwaukee cornerin my desk at work, theres more at home but these are the ones for work. The 1/2 fuel high torque impact has come in handy doing flywheel clutch/brake assembly rebuilds on 150 ton presses. Keys and flywheels dont stand a chance with a puller and that impact. It also had the balls to pull a 2000 pound flywheel back on to a 5 inch shaft. Good stuff

What the hell?

I could swear someone posted a pic in the last two days, of one of the Milwaukee bit sets he found on clearance for $5. And I thought his avatar was a picture of a guy with a beard, right? I know I saw it, because it's why I went to my local HD today.

It WAS here, wasn't it. Or am I mistaken?

I bought a Milwaukee bit set that was on sale for $11. It was a good deal.

I'm hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction for some info. I'm trying to find if there is an IP rating = ingress protection (dust and moisture resistance) on the fuel line of tools. I know a few other brands such as makita and dewalt have it on a couple tools.

I have a question for you guys. I want to start getting into welding and I know I will need an angle grinder/ cutoff wheel to cut things. Does this seem adequate?

http://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/cordless/2780-20

My future use is I want to get a project car and it will more than likely have metal panels that need to be cut and new ones welded on. Does this seem like the type of tool that can do what I need (both cut through metal panels, and grind down welds) or do I need a different tool?

yes it will work. However, with a lot of grinding or cutting, corded would be good as well.

"IF" you have air, look into pneumatic body saws. And/or die grinders/3" cut off wheels..they are a lot more easy to handle and be accurate with.

But the Mil grinder with a flap disc will clean welds great, then use Roloc discs on air die grinder to make almost perfect.
