I'm not seeing any deals on HD or milwaukeetool.com with a free m12 stick light. Any help? Is this an in-store only deal?

i saw it in the store.. few different things, free battery with purchase of the big m18 radio/charger, free battery or sawzall with purchase of drill impact driver set (forgot which m18 set) and the m12 stick light was free for some other m12 purchase..

and OF COURSE - they lowered the price of the m12 radio down to $79 after i just bought it like a month ago..

it doesnt hurt that the new HF ratchets happen to match the Milwaukee stuff too :)

How is the quality of there hand tools (pliers/cutters)? They looked pretty solid in store, Taiwan coo if I remember correctly. I may have to pick some up if on sale.

not like ive used them or tortured them to really give in depth feedback, but honestly, im impressed otherwise - esp now since everything is getting cheaper.. the lineman pliers started out at $23 - and are down to $17.. ALOT of Milwaukee stuff is getting their prices dropped.... thats why i cant stop buying this ****..

alot of the stuff is on par with channel lock's equivalent models price wise now.. either would serve my needs just fine.. the grips on the Milwaukee stuff will def stand up to more abuse, and i just like the design better.. eveything is different than anything sold by anyone else... i dont suspect id have any trouble with any of their stuff.. i still have many of my first "allied" or "alltrade" hand tools that are over 20 years old and still in great shape..

i just think this gives me an excuse to buy some nicer looking, "better" , matching tools than the husky stuff i bought a while ago..

this is just what happens to be laying in front of me, most being new purchases within the last few days or so...

I like their hand tools , they seem to be well built, with added features incorporated into most of them.

Anyone have any of their mulitmeters or ampmeters?

How are the scissors, any good?

They actually have two kinds of scissors. The ones in the picture you referred to are kinda awkward to use. They just feel weird, the angle of the blades in relation to the handles. But the other ones (not pictured), they feel pretty good, and they cut good too.

I love the scissors personally. Quickly became my favorites in the shop. I prefer the angled ones, they get your handles up off the work & seem to be a touch longer, affording more power/leverage. The straight cuts are $5 less but feel awkward to me and always seems like I'm going to drag my knuckles.

the scissors are awesome.. the ones i have are angled, so they help keep your hands away from whatever youre trying to cut.. been using them to cut open all the clamshell packages.. i love em.

i just picked up the 10 and 12" milwaukee channel locks, and the $13 m12 flashight thats on clearence.... all the hand tools seem really well made.. heavy, precise..only thing i cant find is the metric allen wrench screwdriver set... for some reason only the SAE is in stores, so ill order that online..

i THINK im just gonna break down and buy a couple of the vise grips too.. hopefully the 12" electrician channel locks will drop a little in price too... they are still like $18.. the electrician and the plumping style channel locks are actually pretty different than each other.. different jaw style, different widths of the heads/jaws.. the electrician ones actually lock in postion so you can pump them open and closed without there being a chance of them slipping into another position.

im seriously at the point where ive bought close to 2/3 of the differenent hand tools they have, mainly just because i like how they look, and honestly believe they are great tools. i havent seen them yet, but according to the HD website, the new style Milwaukee handtools are in stock at my store, so i dont expect the red/black handled stuff to be around much longer..

<sigh> im ALMOST embarassed to admit this still isnt all of them... am i the only one "addicted" to these hand tools?? (MAYBE i need a set of the straight jaw vice grips now too)

i bought another set of lineman pliers, the smallest electrician channel locks, and every size of the diagonal cutters (think im gonna go with the 7" as long as they fit in my tool pouch on my body belt) for work - and i decided im gonna put these to the test and see how they hold up.. so aside from my Jumbo Stanley flat blade screwdriver, every other tool in my work belt will be Milwaukee..

so far - i gotta say the lineman pliers really impressed me cutting through solid copper ground wires on the poles.. it wasnt even a challenge for them.

I just bought a used Warn Pullzall and it occurred to me a cordless version of a light-duty winch like the Pullzall would be awesome. The main benefit of a Pullzall is that it's portable with a hook on both ends (like a chain fall) rather than hard-mount, BUT you're tied to 110V power. Make it cordless (Milwaukee??) and it would be awesome.

i thought the pullzall was cordless.. tools in action did a video review of one a while back.

Anyone know if I can use my M18 Fuel batteries on a MW 2636-20 18v shear?

All of my 18v batteries are Fuel type, just wondering if they are compatible with regular 18v MW.

Thanks.

Might have made a good score. I just emailed a guy about a brand new M18 Fuel combo 2797-22. He wants $275, I offered $250 cash for a pickup tomorrow. I know it's still for sale, because he emailed me back this morning saying he still had it. Just waiting for another reply.

edit: Agreed on $260, picking up tomorrow.

i had been buying older but almost new used made in usa Milwaukee v18 tools. and bought a pair of aftermarket lithium v18 3 ah batteries to go with my 3.3 ah nimh batteries i am sure impressed so far. got a 5361-20 rotary hammer a while back thats like in new condition for cheap off ebay. also got an 9079-20 impact wrench too. works great with the newer nimh and new aftermarket lithium v18 batteries i just bought. i also got 6310-20 circular saw , 6515-20 sawzall, flashlight, and 0627-20 drill.
the v18-v28 charger i have works great on all 3 battery types

I do have some m18 fuel tools, big and small 1/2 impact wrench, drill, 1/4 impact driver but i like the smoothness of power of the older style tools and is starting to go back to the v18 series. it seams some of the new m18 brush tools seam too cheaply made except for the m18 style batteries

There are no Fuel batteries - note you won't find the word anywhere on the batteries. Fuel denotes brushless motors in the tools themselves. The M18 batteries all interchange regardless of Red, amp-hours, compact or XC.

So, yes, your batteries will work on the 2636 shear (I want that shear too!)

Not pictured: Corded stuff.. Super Sawzall, right angle drill and Hole Hog. And about 4-5 12v batteries.

All my cordless is Milwaukee, EXCEPT for my Dewalt Framing Nailer and my 2 new Outdoor Dewalt Garden Tools

I strayed a bit. Hemmed and hawed and chose the Dewalt Cordless VAC over the Milwaukee. Has a corded option and looks better IMO than the Milwaukee. Been waitng over 1 1/2 years to see if Milwaukee would either refresh the vac lineup, but sadly, no news on it yet.

im having trouble coming to terms with this - i recently bought MOST of the older Mikwaukee handtool line-up, including extra sets of the linesman pliers, electrician pump pliers, and diagonal cutters to use on my tool belt exclusively at work. I'm having trouble admitting that im not "thrilled" with all of them, for the way i need to use them for work. its mainly the fact the diagonal cutters have no tip on the end of them. the electricians pliers quick adust button sticks out a little too far and tends to collide with things (not a huge deal, and otherwise great). the linemans pliers just need some getting use too....

BUT - i went to sears to pick something else up, (crescent compound cutting diagonal / linesman set for $24) and picked up the Knipex Alligator pliers in my hand.. long story short, they are now in my house, and the knipex 10" high leverage diagonal cutters and linesman pliers are on order though Amazon.. i feel like i cheated on a girlfriend...

everything else ive bought and used at home so far have been great..

I cant believe this deal I scored last night. I bought this kit for $100.00 from Craigslist. I seen it earlier in the day and after dinner I was like let me see if this guy responds. Sure did and met him 30 mins later at Target. I am stoked because I was going to buy the other $99.00 deal

knipex are leaps and bounds beyond milwaukee in hand tools.....

yea i was playing with a few in sears , really nice, expensive - but nice.. i figured id just sell out and try them too.. its not a huge investement, cause its only 3 tools i need AND the slimmer handles and grips will make it easier getting them in and out of YET ANOTHER Klein tool pouch i just bought, that has slimmer pockets designed for lineman.

for the sake of being fair - i really like the Mikwaukee stuff. if i my job was new installation instead of "transfering and removing" existing plant, they would be fine and probably be singing a different tune. the Diaginal cutters not having an actual tip is the real issue for me. obviously that was an issue for Milwaukee too since they completely changed the design of their "core" hand tools while the others just got a new grip, and still others didnt change at all. the new ones are more traditional and professional looking - a "safer" choice for them while trying to market them to trade professionals. i would have just bought those and tried them out too (which i still might) but the handles on the new dykes seem kinda wide, which might be a problem for me when trying to fit them into small pouches.

just an afterthought - i think Milwaukee makes a mistake by packaging these basic hand tools in a way that wont allow propesctive buyers to open and close the handles, to actually get a feel for how they operate, and see how wide they open. not many people who grew up on crescent and channellock will drop $30 on a "new to market" pair of pliers just to find out how wide they open. lastly im betting they new models will "correct" any issues people were having, and will cater to more professional use.

i think the the dykes (im NOT typing "diagonal cutters" anymore just to be P.C.) are really the only things that needed a major tweak..

I'll play........Favorite is the M18 Fuel 3/8 impact, biggest disappointment is the vac, while not horrible it is underpowered but may improve when I get stronger M12 battery. Everything else works great
