Has anyone investigated the M18 promo in-store right now? You can get a free M18 lantern or compact battery w purchase of the 2701-22 compact brushless drill kit, or the LED floodlight or something-I-forgot w the 2799 compact brushless combo kit.

Specifically, does the register pro-rate the $79 or $99 discount across the items as it did w the $150 promo last year???

I ordered the lantern deal online and online it throws it together into one big part number, but the register would likely be different as the items are rung up separately.

If it pro-rates, you know what that means......and if you don't know, you don't care about it anyway.

They have ran a BOGO deal since the $150 promo last year, and the receipt was prorated like the $150 promo.

Do you have the item number on the website for the promos? I dont remember seeing them the last time I was in store

Thanks.

I don't have time to reference & link right now but just search 2701-22 and it should come up w pictures with "+" signs of the free item.

In my store they taped up a small cardboard thing on the pallet racking next to the Milwaukee display briefly explaining, and, oddly enough, a free-standing cardboard shelf w the 2701-22 kits and compact batteries IN THE HARDWARE (fastener) AISLE.

Last week I purchased the 1/2" FUEL drill Kit to replace my standard 1/2" drill. Today I finally had the chance to use the FUEL. I must say I am very impressed. I cannot believe how much more power the Fuel has. Drilling 1" holes with my Bosch daredevil bits through studs for some electrical work was a piece of cake.

^^Nice Kit! I just purchased the FUEL drill kit without the impact driver. I'm kicking myself, I should have gotten that kit. I guess I'll have to get the impact driver tool only.

Just got my M12 LED stick light the other day. Picked it up on Amazon for $63 shipped with my Prime account. It's a damned nice work light that I have been putting to good use. Fantastic for light sweeping the walls during painting to see areas missed and bad patch work.

M12 does 90% of work in my garage and around the house. M18 when working on suspension, heavy equipment, or drilling large holes in wood or in anything concrete.

I have the M18 and wish that I had bought the M12. The M18 is a great tool line, but I don't need the extra weight or power for use around the home.

My M12 tools do everything I ask of them around the home.

All you guys are talking Fuel? That's kinda what I figured. I want "the best", but then again, I don't want to find myself holding a heavy-*** drill all the time because I was too much of a jackass to get what I need and not just "the best."

When I made the jump to milwaukee.. I was going to get the regular drill driver, but then I said to myself. If they have a better brand of something why get the minimum. And then only later on want the fuel version. So i bit the bullet and got the fuel kit.

A little disappointed in the wobble from the chucks of fuel drills and impact drivers.

Well, I'm considering either M12 Fuel or M18 Fuel (2nd gen). Not sure if the benefits of the M18 outweigh the literal weight.

Did you experience multiple drills and impacts with this issue?

What Exactly are you going to be using it for? What type of work? DIY? odds and ends?

Like I said, typical homeowner stuff. DIY, odds and ends, yes. Suspension and all that, probably not. I guess it's just one of those have and not need rather than need and not have things.
Sorry I didn't read ahead. :(

If I was in your shoes I would rather be over powered then under powered if I'm doing something at home. You can control something that is overpowered. So you don't go all crazy with the thing. On the other hand let's say you get the m12 kit. Nothing wrong with it and you expected more out of the kit. (Power) What would you do then?

Correct. What I'm saying is if your torn between which one I'd get the kit that has more power. You will learn to adjust to the speed and power.

I have the M12 fuel and impact and the M18 non-fuel drill. I think I've only used the M18 drill 3-4 times in the couple of years I've had it. The only reason is because I was drilling two different sized holes and just needed another drill. The M12 has plenty of power for typical homeowner stuff.

For automotive work though, nothing beats the M18 high torque impact!

I've got both M18 and M12 fuel drills and hex impacts. I've also got the non-fuel m12 3/8 drill. The first one I grab when doing jobs around the house, m12 3/8 drill. It's lighter and cheaper. If it isn't up for the job or I want to use multiple bits, I grab the m12 fuel drill as well. The only time I ever use the M18 drill is to not have to switch out bits, I'm using spade bits/hole saws larger than 5/8, or drilling in concrete/brick.

I bought the M18 fuel wanting "the best" (and to replace my Dewalt 18V XRP lith-ion drill), but it rarely gets used. My most used M18 tool is the 2654 (3/8 fuel impact) and the m18 lights.

If I were you, I'd start with an M12 kit and add M18 if you feel the need. If you have another 18V drill, I wouldn't say it's worth replacing for DIY type stuff.

We probably have +4k worth of mil m12 and m18 stuff. Mostly fuel. I have 3 drills, 2 rotary hammers, 3 saws, 3 impact drivers, 1 sawzall, 2 hackzalls, 1 grinder, 2 multitools, 3 vacuums, 5 lights, 2 radios, 1 3/8 ratchet, 1 3/8 impact ratchet, 3 3/8 impact wrenches 1 1/2 impact wrench, and 1 1/2 fuel hi torque impact wrench. You name it. I use all of them, all of the time both professionally and home use.

Last year my wife discovered my m12 hackzall kit and confiscated it to trim bushes and trees. then she discovered my m12 radio. then my m12 vacuum. Then m12 led flashlight and sticklight. Also a few batteries. Now she has taken a m12 fuel impact kit.

So far has had one problem. The 6 1/2 " m18 fuel circular saw crapped out. milwaukee replaced the gear box in one day, and they paid overnight shipping both ways. Total down time: 4 days.

My wife sometimes leaves my ah... her.. milwaukee tools out in the sun and rain. They just keep on going.

edit, forgot, we also have two jigsaws, one right angle drill, and one palm nailer.

A while back, some guys on here bought the SWAG portaband tables, but has anyone heard anything recently on reviews?

Just bought a new Milwaukee band saw today and would like to know if the SWAG table is really worth the dough.

has anyone had both the m18 1/2 impact wrench and the snap on ct8850, has it really got over 50% more breakaway torque than the snap on? they are about half te price over here in the uk? i've lost my older ct7850 and i'm in the market to possibly switch to milwaukee?
