I just purchased a used m18 fuel sawzall at the flea market for 40 bucks. No battery. Will post pictures later.


Edit: the chuck is worn out and won't accept a sawzall blade so will have to contact a repair place. I won't how much is it yo replace.

Honestly, there's little point in a heated jacket folks. This stuff has to be touching you, and unless you're huge the jackets won't be tightly pressed against your back and chest. The warmest config BY FAR for me is my Small hoodie w a heavy jacket over it. The jacket presses the hoodie against my body, and then you really FEEL the heat.

Based only upon my new vest, I'm not sure the RipStop stuff is a great idea. It's thicker and more rigid, similar to canvas, meaning it does not readily conform to your body - that's bad.

I'll have to disagree with this also. I have 2 of the m12 heated jackets.. Last year's black and gray, and the pervious years all black model. The design of last years was much better, might be the same basic model this year.. But I spent ALL of last winter working outdoors with just a white hanes t shirt and a long sleeve carhartt t shirt under that jacket. The key is u need to dress lightly under the jacket, and keep the jacket closed up. Its basically windproof and sheds water very well.. Just need to wear a warm carhartt hat and everything is fine.. I might buy the new black 3 in 1 with the ripstop, but the lack of hand warmers is what makes me hesitate..

I have the dewa!t heated hoodie too. Much thicker than the m12. Its almost then same as my insulated carhartt..

It finally showed up at a Home depot near me. But at a $200.00 more to the total price tag of the american store.

Some of that is attributed to the exchange rate, but that's probably only about $120. I've noticed some higher prices in Canadian Home Depots, but nothing really above the exchange rate. I wonder what's up with that?

Thinking about picking one of those up since it's a bit smaller than the M18 version I have now and still should be plenty strong for most things

Not that I'm aware of. Maybe if enough folks email Milwaukee, they might consider offering one.

For a DIY guy who doesn't currently do construction, but plays in the garage most days...what other cordless Milwaukees besides the hammer drill and impact would be worth getting over their corded counterparts?

I just ordered the 2nd gen hammer/impact kit with the HD $150 off deal. Don't have any other cordless tools.

My second favorite is the m12 ratchet I have the 3/8 one but should have bought the 1/4 instead.

Last years 150 deal got me the M18 2763 impact wrench, couple of impact drivers, LED lantern, work light, blower and heated hoodie. Interested in the 3N1 heated jacket, LED flood light and hope they release an improved ratchet. Selling off parts of the kits left me plenty of batteries and chargers to handles 2 or 3 remodeling jobs

Yep! One of the guys that does tool videos (tools in action maybe?) said he's washed his probably 20 or 30x and a few of those times he left the BATTERY installed (and dried it..) and it still worked fine. No problems washing them.

What kind of playing do you? If it's automotive stuff I'm a huge fan of the 2654 impact wrench. The 2454 looks pretty nice too and I will probably pick one up soon. Their cordless ratchet is also quite nice and was my first Milwaukee tool.. I bought a reconditioned one for < $100 and have beat the hell out of it

The bigger impacts like the 2763 are nice when you need them but total overkill unless you have a specific need for it.. the 2654 will take lug nuts off no problem, so that is all most people need

Agreed.. I'm happy with the 3/8 but may get the 1/4" one next time

Well Looks like my battery walked off.. I needed my hammer drill to make some holes.. last time I used it I was inside but I looked all over and I can't find it, but I don't want to buy another without knowing for sure it's gone but It's not looking good..

Jamie or anyone, any reason why one would choose the M12 3/8 or 1/4 ratchet? They are both the same size and nearly the same torque 30 vs 35. This will be my first battery powered ratchet. 1/4 just seems to be too limited

Thanks for your sharing your experience. Oddly the 3/8 tool only is slightly less expensive than the 1/4 tool only. Guess it really depends on what your projects are and plans for the tool just like the "real" hand tool - ratchets.

my 2 latest editions to the family.. 1/2" fuel high torque impact, ($156 after playing the discount game) and the (new?) Milwaukee Crimping Pliers.. i stumbled onto the pliers on the HD website when i went to look at the Kliens cause i wanted a pair for a little project im working on, and while i was on my phone checking the price online, they were actually hanging on a peghook in the tool corral. $5 cheaper than the Klien model, and definately not as stiff.. i have the other matching tools and i love the grips, so into the home toolbox they will go.

Check ebay prices. The drill runs around $90 brand new, batteries run $35-40, charger is around $20. For that price, I would be buying the m18 fuel drill and impact driver kit with 5.0 batteries doing the $150 off deal at HD. If you don't want the impact, it will sell for $100 on ebay.

I did the same thing with the ratchet and the M12 impact.

Now I have both in 3/8 and 1/4 (impacts are Fuel).........plus M18 Fuel 3/8" Compact (wish I woulda got the 1/2" compact because that thing is powerful enough for most stuff on the ton trucks and they're 1/2" socket sizes, so I'm adapting once again.)

and also have the M18 Fuel 1/2 and 3/4 big boys (which kick ***).

Well if theres a new one coming from Makita, it should, considering this thing is a few years old now. If/When Milwaukee's gen2 high torque impact is released, u can be sure it will dominate all. Although honestly its getting to point of just being something to brag about. Its like driving a car with 600 HP to get back and forth to work.

You would think it works like that but look at milwaukees gen 2 impact driver that gets eaten by last year's makita.

It was announced at stafda, if you poke around online you will see pics of it. I don't have any links handy but it's xwt08z and will be out spring/summer. Their brushless recip saws are incredible. All this competition is good news.
