Nice 6pc+2763 but I usually need more than 2 batteries. Check out the Hot Deals thread on HD 100-150 off deal to see if some kits provide similar tools plus more batteries for similar total expenses.

Nice! That thing is a beast.

I sold all my snap on cordless impacts to buy M18 stuff. Blows the snap on stuff away (or at least it blew away their older stuff.. I'll try to give them the benefit of the doubt and say maybe the new stuff is better)

So, first off, the box this thing comes in is huge. I thought it collapsed down smaller than THAT, even allowing for some padding on either end.

So the light uses a 2-stage telescoping system that has these handy flip locks. Problem is the lower collar seems poorly sized to the tube. When I got it it was doing nothing. There's a Phillips head screw under the lever you can adjust, but I had to adjust it such that the lever is very difficult to flip in order to make it do anything, and even then you can push it down pretty easily by hand. The ID of the whole collar should be a bit smaller, or you just wind up trying to crush an oval around a circle.

It does work now, just not well, but I'm gonna leave it.

My Milwaukee temp gun came in yesterday. Was about $30 with free shipping on ebay. Easily as good as my $300 Raytheon temp gun. It's a keeper.

I may have missed but does milwaukee sell a small metric socket set with each socket attached to the 1/4 impact shank? Like a shockwave full metric nut driver set.

I don't know if they do, but you can get them through Wera among others.

Finally got the "deal" I wanted and am officially addicted! Local independent Milwaukee dealer was setup at our area agricultural trade show today and had the Milwaukee corporate rep from Dallas in helping man his booth, the promo they were doing was the typical 2897-22+ a fuel sawzall or fuel grinder. I asked if they would substitute a fuel 2754 3/8 impact and the rep said she would do it, so now I have the hammer drill and 1/4" impact, waiting for my 2754 to come in from the distribution center and waiting for my 2763 to come in from HD

no they dont.. you can search amazon, they have a few.

if you need/want actual sockets - you can buy a cheap impact socket set, and a bunch of 1/4" hex to 1/4" or 3/8" square drive adapter with a pin lock.. i did this for the 4 popular sizes i use at work.. bought a $20 1/4" impact socket set from Chicago Pneumatic off amazon, and 5 used apex drive adapters with the pin detent.. i use them with me Dewalt 12v impact driver so i dont have to worry about anything falling when im 20' up in the air.

Why is the 2457 cheaper than the 2456 ratchet. Also, are the heads the same size. I have the Ingersoll r3130 20v 3/8 and I'm looking to supplement it. I'd get the r2110 from them but that's one more charger to store. I anyway have a dual Milwaukee charger. Unless the ir is better and more compact

Trying to decide between two kits to get started into the M12 family...
2597-22 which would basically be what I have now in the M18, just a little smaller.
Or
2493-22 which would give me the 3/8 drill and the hackzall which could come in handy...

can only pick one at this moment in time.

Right now i have the big 1/2 impact, and the 1/2 drill and 1/4 impact, all in M18.

I'd go for a 3/8 impact since you don't have one. I've got the m12 fuel and that thing is powerfull for it's size. Good on most bolts up to 18mm. To give you an idea itll remove lug nuts on most cars but not always and often struggles.

I got that same deal thru Northern tool, mine came yesterday too.

Northern Tool was out of stock on line this morning and it is a PITA for me to get to my local store. Looked on eBay and lowest priced I found was $39 with free shipping. Snagged it since local sales tax and gas and time would have been more than $9.
Thanks for the heads up. Been wanting one of these for a long time. I just cannot understand the drastic price cut. I wish the 3/8 Fuel impact and ratchet would take a hit like this!

First post. I just gifted myself the M2957-22 M12 Fuel hammer and impact kit and I am thrilled. Going from a 14.4v Craftsman with a 25 min battery life to these things was like waking up from a bad dream. Great power, battery life, and so light-weight. Got it reconditioned for $150.

I'm now looking at a 6390-21 Tilt Lok circular saw on Craigslist after using a buddy's. And hoping to branch out into some other M12 stuff.

Get the M18 Hackzall. Will fit in a lot of places you might not get a sawzall into. Lots of power. I put a tree trimming blade in mine and use it all summer long for cutting shrub and tree branches.
Cheers,
JimDon

Ended up returning my non Fuel kit, and got the Fuel kit, as well as the M18 blower. Should come in handy for drying the car and such.

Then ordered some more M12 stuff online utilizing the HD discount :)

Love my Milwaukee stuff!

HD just got the 3/8" M12 fuel impact kit + M12 1/4" ratchet back in stock for $199. Pretty solid deal since you can sell the ratchet if you don't want it for $80 or so. I just ordered it a few minutes ago.

Doesnt seem to work with the $100/150 off combo...darn.

Nope, but since the bare tool is $149 by itself this is a pretty good deal. For $199 you get the kit that includes two 2.0 ah batteries plus a ($110 retail) ratchet for free. I think it's funny that the 1/4" ratchet costs more than the 3/8". Either way it's a good deal. If you don't need the ratchet you can easily sell it and if you don't need the batteries and charger you could sell them to making the bare tool and a case under $100. Seems like a deal to me. I'll update once mine comes in and I can test it out.

Hell yeah I have the 2654 but, of course, need the 2454. And I only have the 3/8 ratchet. I need more 2.0 batteries for our heated gear.

At this point I'm basically just trying to collect every tool Milwaukee makes, there's so much redundancy in my Milwaukee tools LOL! But I do USE them and get them dirty.

I was looking at a few boxes...and decided to bring the wife to help me decide. She didnt like the price, but loved how it looked. And gave me the OK.

Just gotta decide if i want to pull the trigger or not.

Has anyone used the 3/8 or 1/4 extensively yet? I know from experience that air ratchet heads would wear out long before the bottom end of the tool would. I use to go through air ratchets like candy when I was in the body business. Tried Blue Point and the cheap ones from the flea markets, no difference. (pre internet days)
I really hate the thought of buying an electric ratchet to only have the head prematurely wear out.

I thought it was just a few pages back there was talk of this. Someone said the heads are avail separately for ~$15. I've not personally priced them so cannot vouch for the accuracy of that info.
