Which would you say is more powerful?
Haven't had any time with the Milwaukee other than doing the comparison... I'll mess around with it in the morning when my shop is pitch black...if the snap on is stronger I'll be exchanging this light since I have 2 snap ons both on craftsman stands
The Milwaukee definitely has a warmer hue than the Snap On which is more white Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've gone from toxic puke green Ryobi stuff to Milwaukee. I sold all my Ryobi to a veteran who's starting a remodeling business. He already has a bunch of Ryobi.
I bought a non-Fuel M18 1/4" impact driver (new) off ebay for $48. Now I need a charger, batteries. Then, as money allows, I will get a regular drill, multi-tool, recip, circular, lights, jobsite radio. It will be a sea of red.

If you have to buy in pieces, you might try checking out the cpo refurb stuff.. My first m18 buy was through them.. Got the fuel hammer drill and impact driver set with 2 4.0 batteries, dual charger and case SHIPPED for $209..... It was impossible to say no to that..
I actually have a lightly like used fuel drill, charger and case on eBay if anyone is interested..

Both on floor, both faces on the same angle. Snap on is corded and the Milwaukee is on a fully charged 5.0. Both shots taken from same location in my shop.

The Milwaukee has the advantage as it is brighter (for $149 it better be) and because of the "TrueView" feature the light is warmer and things aren't as washed out. It also seems more like a concentrated spotlight as the center of the light is much brighter as seen in the pics
The SnapOn has a slight white/blueish hue such as HID lights on a vehicle but isn't too bad....Also, because of the bigger face of the Snap-On light it has a wider pattern than the Milwaukee
In my work situation, having a portable light isn't an issue as I have a small Honda generator I can plug my Snap-On into.... The warmer light isn't a big deal to me so in this case the $29.99 plus $19.99 stand beats the $149 Milwaukee
I'll be exchanging the light at my local Home Depot for some other red goodies

Thanks a ton for taking the time to post that comparison. Stupid thought - but, I'm assuming the Milwaukee would have that same output if plugged into an outlet? Would only make sense.
I'm sure those photos will certainly help some people who are on the fence. Looking forward to getting mine now and checking it out.

Whether it's running on battery or plugged in the output is the same on the M18 light. It's brighter looking from the picture just with less of a spread. The color is a lot better though and it really shows with them both on. I may have to pick one up with the battery and sell the battery to offset the cost. Still debating since I have the stand light already and love it.

Now I'm stuck playing the waiting game in anticipation of it arriving. I actually have some surprise washing machine repairs to do tonight in a cramped laundry room that it probably could have helped with.
Did you order one of those close quarters drills? I forget what they're called, but they are awesome for working in tight spots.

The one thing that ***** about that newer m18 flood is that you can't take advantage of all the usable light since it's so close to the ground.. Having a tripod makes a big difference.. $149 isn't bad considering if you get the deal with a battery and charger. The light is basically free at that point..
I'll will really try to get some pics of the snap on vs the tripod. Maybe I'll take the tripod home and try it out.. Those pics give a good display of what I was trying to explain in my previous posts.. The Milwaukee still throws a wide beam, but it's more concentrated then the snap on.. I might buy 2 more snap on lights, and be done with all the halogen **** I have at work.. I'm tired of having to move lights from one truck to another depending what vehicle I need to use on calls at night.. Might even get the company to reimburse me for them too... I spend way too much money on **** for work that I should not need to be buying on my own..

Well I'm home now. The washing machine is back up and running. Something jammed the drain pump. Took it all apart, removed the pump. Spun it free by hand some, reassembled and it's back to lather rinse and repeat. There would have been no room for the M18 spotlight so I'm sort of glad I didn't have it to bring. The CAT COB light once again shined there as it's so small for getting up inside the casing of a washer. However, I REALLY wish I had brought the 1/4" M12 ratchet and some SAE sockets. That would have sped things up dramatically. I stupidly thought it would be Metric and then I didn't bring any sockets anyhow so I had metric nut drivers and DBE offset wrenches. Ended up doing them all with a slotted screw driver since the bolts were combo hex and slotted. The ones with no slot I used the Engineer Neijisaurus to turn and that thing really does grip a fastener well. I'm very happy with it.
Also I think I'm going to do a blog post with some pictures of the manual but this washing machine was INSANE. It had full diagnostic capability! Inside the body of the washer hidden was the full service manual for a technician. You turn the dials a certain way to put it in diagnostic mode, and then the lights on the front will blink diagnostic codes that have ocurred in the past. It had one stored code: Drain Pump Failure (drain pump ran for 10 minutes without low water switch tripping). It also has a manual test mode where you can turn each output on and off! So I was able to just go step by step. Turn on hot water solenoid -> hot water enters. Turn on cold water solenoid -> cold water enters. Turn on drain pump -> buzz but no drain. Flip it over, remove the pump, spin it free by hand a bit. Turn on drain pump -> spins right up. Reassemble it all and hook up the water. Run the water solenoid for a bit to fill some water, then run the drain and it all shoots right out the drain. Reassemble, mop, done. I have never seen anything like it on an appliance. It was like troubleshooting one of our machines at work, only in some ways it was actually more informative than CAT ET and all the crazy stuff we implement nowadays.
Wait what? There's no charger in the deal... Is there?! That would be amazing.

Alright hold on.. Maybe I'm wrong.. Or maybe I saw that deal with the tripod light and I'm getting confused.. Even still the battery alone is around $100 itself..
Yea the tripod had a deal with a free battery and charger with the light for the regular price, not the floodlight...
My 2130 LED Stand Light (Free 5.0 Kit) and Heated Hoodie are delivered waiting at home. Not sure which I am more excited to have. Sure hope the Size L Hoodie I ordered fits well, I got it in Red to show my Milwaukee pride LOL.
Woo hoo the hoodie fits perfectly, meets my expectations for quality, cant wait to use it. Does anyone know if they shrink in the wash and how much?

Wow that's awesome. They should develop a sort of OBD for appliances like cars have.
What kind of washing machine was that? My mom went to the local mom and pop appliance store and bought a pair of Speed Queen machines -- washer/dryer. Brand new and they were only like 20% more than the standard Amana, GE ones. Salesman said they were commercial laundromat grade. They are a lot simpler in terms of cycles and controls.
And as far as tools, I find it usually beneficial to bring more tools than less, because if you need a tool, you need it.
You work on appliances FT?
Does anyone know if you can find the 12v 3/8 fuel impacts in Home Depots or if you have to order them?
Edit: never mind I see it says not sold in stores....
I think Milwaukee is great. I am a plumber by trade and they have a lot of tools available at local HD for our trade. I use the mini bandsaw and 1/4 impact daily. As well as plenty of their other products. You guys got some great info here regarding the products and I appreciate it.
