In addition to the $150/200 promo HD is running on the M18 Fuel or One Key kit. This promo on the 2597 kit still at the $199 price.

Very interesting!

Is the $150/200 promo one of the better annual deals? I could make use of the M18 FUEL impact driver immediately. I'm not sure which other tool I would benefit from the most.

Hmm....and I bet it's pro-rating. I don't see anything I need except maybe the tubing cutter. I pity anyone who chooses the M12 vac as their free tool....

They ran the promo on the 2897 & $150 last year for xmas when the kit was $399, in Jan the same promo was there on the price drop to $349. They still have on HD.com the 2897 at $349 promo with free Fuel sawzall. I have bought the 2897 straight up on a deal for $250. Its tough to decipher the Milwaukee promos to determine what is a good deal or not.

The 2597 for $199 and a free tool is a very good deal though when paired with the 3/8 ratchet.

Yeah HD always prorates the disc on the receipt, the best freebies in that are the ratchet, jigsaw, or tubing cutter.

Feel like the 2597 kit is clearing out so they can re-release it with compact 3.0 & xc 6.0 battery.

Thanks! So it's a good deal but a little better might be around the corner.

If I didn't already have an older M12 drill and driver, I'd be all over the 2597 with 3/8 ratchet. The ratchet is a tool I want!

I wish that 4 bay charger were Rapid. Not sure I need a sequential "slow" charger.

I bought a utility knife for work (also a Milwaukee ) on Friday and there was only one left. I didn't want to pass it up. Fortunately it was still there today.

So I just ordered another 6 bay sequential charger for work. That didn't take long for another purchase..

Also - I contacted Milwaukee about being disappointed with the new jackets. Someone got back to me and asked if they could have my contact info so they could send it over to the project manager for the heated jacket along with my complaints.. I guess I'll see where this goes, but I'm not expecting much..

"Boss, customer #1 doesn't like the new jackets. He only bought FOUR of them."
"How many were we expecting him to buy?"
"Twenty-Five this year, and then sixteen for the next two years."
"My god..."

Lol.. You know what's messed up, is that when I wrote them I said that I must own at least 50 or 60 Milwaukee products - and that the jackets are the first thing I've ever returned for not liking them. I just spent about 30 seconds in my basment counting everthing that said Milwaukee on it, and got up to 42 before I stopped and said "I don't even wanna know"..

It looks like the 150/200 promo let's you pick either:

* M18 FUEL Sawzall
* M18 Hackzall
* M18 wet/dry vac
* M18 blower

...I don't see a way to pick anything else.

They have more options. I just messed around with website by adding different Milwaukee tools/batteries stuff into my cart. It splits the discounts. Last year was sweat cause it would just take a huge discount on the biggest item and take of like 10% on second cheaper item.

It arrived a day early! I'm disappointed it didn't come with two blades like some I saw talked about and unboxed online, but whatever.

So why does this Home Depot ad show what looks like a 2730 saw (left side blade) with the 9.0 battery offer? :headscrat

It is the 2731 bare tool with the 9.0 starter kit (battery and rapid charger). I think the bare tool is typically $229 and the starter kit is typically $249. It's a phenomenal deal.

Mine also arrived today, only 1 blade also, was yours just in a plastic wrapped retail box too, no brown plain outer box?

I am surprised HD does not have a better deal than the $150 promo on the 2897 at $399, they are supposedly a big Milwaukee partner. The promo is the same as last year even though in Jan the 2897 dropped to $349 still with the $150 promo and the kit price stayed there until now. Acme has their 2897 holiday promo up, kit at $349 and free fuel grinder, fuel sawzall, or free two 5.0 batteries.

HD's deal if you chose the 2897 and 2720 sawzall 399+199-150=449. Acme is 349+free=349. So the HD 150 with the sawzall is 100 more. Though the flexibility of the HD promo to use with almost any tool (I tested searchlight, M12 rover flood, and new M18 vac and they didnt work) is good, they should be running the deal on a $349 2897 kit.

I ran a rapid charger test tonight. Took both 9.0s that came with my miter saw kit, they both were less than 1/2 charged, my estimate is 30-40%. I put one on a regular multivolt charger and the other on the rapid multivolt charger The rapid charger was done in 65 mins the regular charger was 125 mins. So in line with the 40% increase Milwaukee claims, but they could of just said almost twice as fast, as I didnt know which way the 40% was calculated. Though I feel like other 9.0s charged in my rapid charge station quicker than the single rapid charger. Also as another member noted the rapid charger does make hum/whirl/whistle sound and it is annoying. My rapid charge station does not make this noise. Perhaps the single rapid has a fan or additional fan the regular charger does not have.

I got my miter saw on Saturday but was out of town and have been too busy to even open the box. It did come in its retail box wrapped in clear plastic.
The beauty of the HD promo is that if you don't need/want the 399 or 499 kit, you just return it but still get the discount on the individual item. I ordered the fuel grinder for 112 shipped to my door and will call the store tomorrow to cancel the store pickup for the kit. I'm sure more individual tools will become available and other platforms than just Milkwaukee later in the year.

Also, when Home Depot started the deal last year a lot of the bare tools were cheaper too. Like the sawzall was $179, the 7-1/4" circular saw was $199, Bluetooth radio/charger was $199. This year it doesn't seem so good. I was hoping to pick some up for the bare tools like last year but if they don't drop the prices it's really not worth it. This sale last year was the reason I got my first Milwaukee m18 and m12 tools.

I can also confirm that the rapid charger is loud and annoying. It also gets pretty hot but that's expected I guess.
