Do you guys have a recommendation for a good bang for the buck tool to remove ceramic tile from a concrete slab? I'm set up for both M12 and M18 but also don't mind going with a corded tool if that's best. Looking to remove about 500 sq. ft. of tile.

Thanks much,

DC

The HD 200/150 combo sale now includes the 1" SDS Rotary Hammer. Also has some m12 items now and they may make me spend more money than I want to. $142 for a 9.0 before taxes. And all the nailers are included in the promo.

Sorry blowing up this thread. What are everyone's thoughts on the m12 compact vacuum. It's the cheapest item to use for the HD promo so considering using that to buy and keep the fuel kit. It has good reviews but don't really need it since I have the wet/dry M18 vac and would probably end up returning and keeping the m18 Fuel kit.

My Acme shipments lately have required a sig, which has been a pain, especially since dope guy rings the garage side door bell that doesnt work and takes off.

i haven't even received a shipping confirmation on the m12 impact wrench i ordered with the 15% off  .

If it's stubborn - yes corded for that.. Some tile jobs are so badly done you can seriously pop all the tiles off whole and reuse them. You'd be able to get away with a cordless tool for that, but it shouldn't be like that.. If the tile is laid right they should brake into pieces trying to get them off. For that your talking about a tool that's gonna be under a pretty long duration of constant use..

Thanks. Some of the tiles are very poorly laid. They sound hollow underneath when you tap them with a hammer. Others sound solid. Given how much I have to do, a corded tool might be the safe option. I probably won't consider renting. This is a project that will be done room by room over time and so I would incur multiple rental fees and many trips to HD. Does Milwaukee make a corded rotary that has hammer only mode? I saw a corded option in HD today for $179 but didn't have time to check it out.

Zoro has near retail prices on the M18 Fuel 2712 or 2713 SDS Plus Rotarys, both have hammer only mode, with a 30% BF deal they would be close to $200 bare tool. There are $20 SDS Plus bits made for the exact purpose of tile removal.

I was just about to recommend the 1" SDS drill also!

The HD 200/150 combo sale now includes the 1" SDS Rotary Hammer.

Thanks guys. Sounds like a good option to consider.

I sold mine before I ever used it as soon as I found out the new M18 vac was coming out, that just arrived this week, its pretty cool and almost as powerful as the wet/dry box. M12 33 CFM, New M18 40 CFM, Old M18 Wet/Dry 45 CFM.

Most SDS Rotaries 7/8 and up have hammer only mode. If your going corded, look for a Bosch or Milwaukee used one on CL. Be aware there are 3 types, SDS, SDS Plus, and SDS Max. Bits need to be specific to the type.

I'm not all that pleased with mine. It's ok for picking up wood chips around the guinea pig cage or little things that you would use a Shark/Dust Buster for. If it catches a piece of hay it will keep the small rubber flap from sealing and everything falls out as soon as the vacuum is turned off. It fails miserably for light cleanup like drilling a hole through drywall and picking up the dust. There just isn't enough power.

My primary goal for the M12 was light duty cleanup that didn't warrant pulling out the shop vac for. I'm hoping the new M18 will be a bit better for this.

Interesting. That's basically all that I use mine for and I find that it works great!

I'd still like to upgrade to the M18 eventually, I want the hose for dust collection on some of my tools.

The old one is nothing to shrug off.. The lack of dual power is really it's only shortcoming. The convience of it is great though.

Good to know, thanks. I appreciate your input as you seem like you use lights quite a bit.

I could really care less about the charging aspect, but the two things that sell the new Rocket light to me over the old one are the swiveling heads and the fact that it's hybrid powered. The extra 1k lumens is nice too haha. I just hate having buyers remorse. I have learned the hard way many times...buy once cry once. But man, it's so much more money!!

Speaking of vacs, I finally used my m18 as a wet vac for the first time.. I installed a new tank kit inside my Kohler 1 piece toilet, and used the vac to get the last few inches or so of water out, and clean out all the sediment in the bottom of the tank.. that thing sucked up the water without even a reaction..

I hosed off the replaceable filter after removing it to use in the bathroom. I've been fixing all my lawn and garden stuff thats been giving me issues.. used it to clean off all the dirt and grass from the engines and decks since Ive been working indoors in my basement. (Don't buy a house without a garage like I did). The filter was covered in dirt, and looks brand new again after cleaning. It's not like those cheap disposables you get with normal shop vacs.

Thanks, got it with the 30" tool box combo, the bottom chest comes with that mat in case you dont have the top chest. I cut it to fit the cart and used double sided tape to hold it on.
That's actually pretty awesome looking lol.

If you are expecting it to perform like a dust buster / dirt devil, then it will be just fine. If you are expecting to replace your shopvac with it, you cannot.

I find the M12 handy for woodworking where I might go over to my tablesaw, zip one quick cut and then go back to my bench, work a bit on something and then drill a few holes at the drill press and then keep moving around. It's great for a quick cleanup from a single operation. It's not good for cleaning up the shop after a day of working.

I've really been considering grabbing the M18 shop vac to ditch my giant roll around shop vac. More and more cordless seems to be the way to go considering I have a single outlet in my garage and it's so small. I literally don't have floor space or wall space for a shopvac. :( Right now I have to roll it outside to get to the back half of my garage.

I wish the M18 wet/dry vac had a cord on it. Just in case.
The DeWalt version does and can run on a few different types of batteries too.

Like someone said one of the nice things that comes with the new M18 hand vac is a hose, pretty much the same hose as the wet/dry one. Plus 2 extensions and a floor attachment that you can then vac the floor while standing straight (unless your 6' plus) and a crevice tool.

Yes, its cool, but havent used it yet. Was going to compare to my B&D Flex 20v one I keep in the kitchen.

I'm afraid to get it dirty ;-)
So does anybody have the new M18 0882 vac yet?

I'd like to hear a first hand user review.

Posting this here because it is critically valuable to you guys in particular:

Ebay has a 20% off code right now on Home Improvement and Tools:
C20SHOPEARLY

No clue on restrictions, timing, or anything, but it DOES work on the M18 search light from CPO. See if you can find a deal with it.

Just tried and basically anything from CPO on eBay works with the code, M18 Fuel kits, all type of stuff! Also looks like max savings is 50$

Well I successfully got the new ROVER light out of the package and just tried it out. Wow at first I didn't think it was going to open enough to clamp it on a 2x4 (I have an open interior stud wall I was able to try it out on). Is NOT going to fall off that's for sure. Nice and bright and 3 modes low was really nice on the eyes too.

I may not be taking my 2361 light to work as often now will save me bringing a different battery and also the m18 charger as usually I only take M12 tools and my radio or speaker with me to have for most routine maintenance chores.

Just tried the magnet also...at first on the interior side of factory primed steel 4 panel exterior door skin. It wasnt a secure as might have liked and seemed though it could be easily knocked loose but it wasn't gong to fall off under its own weight either...so then to the garage about the same affect on my new Craftsman lower cabinet hmmm..

But then on my folding steel sawhorse legs a solid thunk and on my steel table saw leg frame wow was it ever stuck! Material thickness makes a big difference I guess.

Overall a 5 star rating from me

The light is $99 on the cpo site anyway, but coupon might make a difference with some other stuff..

Just bought a Fuel 1/2 impact (2763-20) and boot (49-16-2763). Saved $52 (including an additional $7 off the boot stacked) over Home Depot and didn't have the sales tax. Paid $181 total. Pretty damn good deal (Or $160 for just the impact without the boot).

Yeah but you get an additional 19$ off. See the "Applied 19.59$" in the bottom of the screenshot.

Sweet! I'm curious what anyone else is ordering to get ideas for 2nd or third orders. I think first I'm gonna grab that search light and the fan I've been wanting forever.

Nice! I think it's one use per account. Theoretically with a second eBay account you could probably use it again. If I put in a second order I'll have my GF order it.

The 20% eBay code unfortunately didn't work on the new M18 vacuum being sold by Acme. It appeared to be the only one listed on eBay.
Huh... I'd be way into one of those M18 vacs for 80$. Maybe one will show up on CPO's eBay before the code expires.

Is there a Fuel version of the M18 Jigsaw?

I did not see it on Milwaukee's site, but may have missed it.
