I know, between the amount of details in that post and the incredible quality of that pic, it was hard for me to figure out...:lol_hitti

It's Home Depot, and when the light is combined with the 2897 kit you get the 150 off.... this kit..
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauke...-Kit-2897-22/206211756?keyword=milwaukee+2897

Ah yeah I did know about that deal already. I bought it last weekend for my girlfriend's sister as a housewarming gift. I got the 9.0 with the Sawzall with it and gave that to her dad for his birthday. There was also a 9.0 + circular saw and... something else besides the tower light in that deal.

I ended up going with it over the M12 because I was looking at like ~250$ for the M12 FUEL kit and then that one was barely more if you consider the discount on the sawzall. I needed a gift for her dad anyhow and so the purchase made itself.

I picked up a used M18 Propex Expander for a good price. Works great on small pex but when doing some 1" today I noticed it was not rotating. I was using a M12 head. It sounds like it's skipping a tooth so I wonder if I should get a M18 1" head to try before sending it in for repair.

Finally got a chance to open up the M18 search light I got last week and try it out. That's a hell of a beam. I don't think it makes much sense for me but I think it'll make a good gift for family with property. I need to do a side by side but I'm not entirely sure my M18 flood really puts out more light in flood mode. Only thing I don't like so far is the detentless head. I wish it at least clicked in straight forward.

Tree in neighbor's backyard with no light:
View media item 65380
Same exposure with M18 light in flood + spot mode (Base of tree is 125ft away):
View media item 65379
Another one in flood + spot mode same exposure (Base of tree is 116ft away):
View media item 65381
As you can see, the flood feature on it actually lights up a pretty big area.

I went to check out the local HD for Black Friday.. my HD has ALMOST every light Milwaukee makes in the store now.. the m12 and m18 stick lights are both reduced in price. $49, and $59 now.. the m18 radius light is a lot smaller than I expected, and that thing is ******* bright.. I woulda left with the m12 search light (why not), but of course it's one of the few not in the store..

Hmmm...I could use a M18 stick light

What were they like $89 originally?

Anyone got the anodized M12 flashlight and knife for 99 bucks?

Wonder how you like the knife if you bought this set?

I was actually pretty disappointed in the lack of selection for Milwaukee stuff at Home Depot for Black Friday this year. Got the 2 pack of tape measures for $25.

The one by me seriously has almost everything.. I was amazed it had the search light and radius light.. they had a promo for 2 free tools with the purchase of a particular kit..
Little surprised they didn't have the new tripod and m12 clamp light with all the other stuff they had.. Both radius lights even - standard and one key both on the shelf..

So listen - I have a project for someone smarter (or more motivated) than me... anyone know how to figure out how much current/ amperage (whatever) the older tripod light is pulling while in use?

I can't imagine it being hard to buy a shot M18 battery off ebay just for the case - and using it to house or adapt an a/c power source to use with the original tripod light so you can make it dual powered... this way you can snap out a battery and snap in a power source with an ac cord on it instead...

Just an idea instead of having to drop so much money on the new model just for a floodlight you could plug into ac power for long use..

It'd be pretty simple. There are very small switch mode power supplies you could certainly fit into a 4.0/5.0 XC M18 battery. The only thing you'd need in addition is a fixed resistor to fool it into thinking the battery temperatures were fine. You'd just have to measure resistance between the T and the - terminals on the battery and then grab a close resistance value from your local Radio shack. I've been wanting to do a video teaching how to do that but I know as soon as I finish filming it AvE will upload the exact same video as always seems to happen. :(

I tried to search this thread for "Mag Drill", "Magnetic Drill", and, finally, just "Magnetic" and got hundreds of hits, none of which on first glance seemed to be about magnetic drill presses. Clearly I don't know how to format an "advanced search".

Here's my one-and-only Milwaukee tool. Well, depending on your perspective, two Milwaukee tools, the drill motor 4262-1, plus the magnetic base 4202-1 with speed control and the gearing that guide the drill motor up 'n' down on the ways. The drill motor has a 3/4" chuck.

I use it as a portable drill press in the vertical position on my welding table. It was made for multi-position work, so the magnet is strong enough to hold the assembly horizontally, maybe even upside-down--although it was mandatory to safety-chain the mag drill to the steel or iron structure so that it couldn't fall if the power to the magnet was interrupted.

With Milwaukee gone to the Communists, I won't be buying any more from them aside from repair parts. Interestingly, these two items are still listed as "Made in USA" on the Amazon web pages.

So let me see if I can get up to speed here. HD has the new 10" compound miter saw on sale for Black Friday $599 and get an additional 9.0 battery free. The $399 drill kit gets you $150 off an additional item so if I put that $399 kit in my cart with the 10" saw it drops the price for the saw to $508.97 and the drill kit to $339.03

I already have that drill kit so you guys are saying if I buy both I can then return the drill kit for the $339.03 and keep the saw (and extra battery) for $508.97???

Yup, Walk out out the saw in the car and walk back in to the return desk and return the drill. Also try it with the 499 kit to see if it will work as it should give you a larger discount.
Only think you cant do is double stack promos such as an extra free battery along with the 150/200 off deals

Cool, what power tools are you going to shop for instead?

That is fine with that battery some kits offer an additional batter as a promo as well so you cannot combine those types of kits.
What you have pictured will work fine I did it on two kits last night.

Not sure where I should ask this. I need a cordless ratchet, home & shop use, & this fits the bill. I've searched and I don't have enough knowledge of these to make a clear decision. Is this a screaming deal or average retail on this. Thanks again. SL.

Those right angle impacts are pretty universally disliked. If you don't have any M12 stuff though and don't want it I guess that would be your option. The M12 ratchets are pretty nice and cheaper too, though they are not an impact.

That's a right angle impact, not a ratchet. If it's not under power it freewheels so you can't ratchet or break anything by hand.

While some techs claim to enjoy them I think it *****. I sold mine off, couldn't stand it. It's gutless and once you find it won't break a fastener free (very common 'cause it's gutless) you have to reach for another setup. At least w the M12 ratchet you can crack it free by hand then pull the trigger.

I'm a huge Milwaukee fan but IMHO the 2668 is a huge fail

Not a hot deal so I'm not gonna post it in that forum, but if anyone wants the M12 flashlight and EDC knife deal (2355-20KN), it might be worth looking at Toolup
http://www.toolup.com/Milwaukee-235...t-with-FREE-Hardline-Knife-Pack-In-48-22-1997

It's $99 everywhere right now, but you can use code MIL25 for $25 off if you get the order to $100. I added a single Inkzall marker at $1.29 to do this.

At that point you're at ~$75 which is great BUT shipping takes a huge dent out of the savings. Shipping for me was over $13, but I'm still getting the flashlight, knife and an Inkzall for $89.14.

Not bad. Shipping will vary for each person so YMMV

I've also read rumors of HD codes for $10 off $100, in which case you'd be at $89 also and they should ship free. But technically this was (barely) a little better for me 'cause I'm getting an Inkzall (while better than Sharpies they're still consumables in my shop so I'll take all I can get)

I know flashlight snobs continue to bash the light but I personally love it, I've got two right now and this will be my third. I last paid $83 per light on a Zoro sale so $89 for the three items above is way better. Milwaukee seems to think this knife is worth about $79 retail, but like all Milwaukee stuff never pay retail and wait for promos like this.

You should post a link to the radius light deal you have in the hot deals forum on here..

I picked up the M12 fuel set with free tool on BF this year. $199 for the set with a ratchet included seemed too good to pass up!

I haven't committed to keeping it...but my batteries are all dead from my only other cordless (10 year old Ryobi) so I'm thinking it's time for something new. Just didn't want to pass up on the deal!

My first foray into Milwaukee cordless... my good ol' Sawzall was getting lonely :D They're not the Fuel versions- but I'm not a GC or anything, they're just for home use.
