I think Milwaukee has left a huge market untapped by not offering protective boots for the batteries and some other tools..

Never thought about a protective battery boot before

I do have a few that are scarred up and have survived a drop to the concrete. I was a happily surprised that nothing did break

Although I'll grant you....the kits are pretty damn close. HD from last year, LEFT, ToolUp just now RIGHT. The ToolUp kit came with this uber duty arbor though that rather than "popping" up (and MUST be tightened w hex key or it pops open from the vibration of drilling steel resulting in stripped threads in your hole saw or just a REALLY tight hole saw requiring a cheater for removal) threads up to rubber o-ring allowing for preload. Kinda cool, but arguably the better arbor alone is not worth +$20

I thought I was getting a close out kit w the pre-Hole Sucker saws. But alas, they're still Hole Suckers. Well, figure each one is good for one hole in steel before dulling (but hey, it won't BREAK! so they won't have to worry about that warranty against breakage)

Interesting. Thanks for the info. Have been debating if I should pick up the HD set. I have the harbor freight set and have used it maybe twice in the last 2 years lol

Interesting! And I bet they won't cover shipping to them for warranty, at least on the string trimmer. The tower light doesn't qualify just due to size best I can tell. Mag drills are excluded too, almost surely 'cause of size/weight.

Got the 2754 3/8 impact today. Haven't got a chance to do any practical usage yet. But the fact the multiple torque settings and variable speed trigger makes it so cool. I suppose this is almost an impact and ratchet in one package.

You lost me at the uber duty arbor...so which arbor is better, the popping or the hex key type?

Thx for the link for the bare tools. It would be interesting to see what the runtime is for the blower 18V9AH versus 40V7.5AH. Generally get on average about 20 minutes off one battery at full blast. Maybe a smigen more. Batteries ain't lightweight.

You'll love it. That's my favorite cordless tool I own.

Do you guys think they'll update the 2763 with 3 or even 4 power levels instead of the 2 it has now? I'm thinking about getting one but noticed DeWalt has 3 level selector.

I think the 2763 should just be one speed. It's big and I only use it for the really heavy stuff. I have a 3/8 and a brand spankin new 2755b that arrived on Friday for the other stuff.

BajaBound. Do you think it's better to just get a 2755 for general purpose work? I was thinking about using my impact driver with socket adapters for lighter duty stuff and then picking up the 2763 for the big stuff.

I can't imagine they WON'T. That would be great IMO if they could incorporate some truly useable power levels. Right now 1 is so slow and so gutless it's useless. So I only use 2 anyway.

The next challenge (Milwaukee) is to maintain speed but reduce max torque. Presently it seems like they're just choking voltage to accomplish less power.

I'm really tempted to pull the trigger on the M18 fuel 1/2 compact impact wrench at HD that comes with 3 batteries. I need someone to talk me out of it.....lol. Same goes with the M12 fuel hammer drill/driver & impact driver with the free 3/8 ratchet, if it ever goes back in stock.......ugh.

I have the 2nd Gen M18 fuel hammer drill/driver and impact driver and love them.

There ain't no way I can talk you out of that. But yes. Talk a look at cpo and see if its cheaper. I have bought most of my Milwaukee stuff there.

Here's my contribution to the thread. A few of my Milwaukee tools for work. Also got a deep cut bandsaw, 4 1/2" grinder, 5/8 hammer drill, and the drill vac.
Planning to slowly build my collection

I picked up that same set and ended up selling off the drill and impact. They are just not that much smaller or lighter than the M18 Fuel tools I already have.

This is what the M12 ratchet is awesome for! Huge time saver, no hoses knocking things off my table.

Mind sharing the detail on that box and the foam setup?

I think I'll do the opposite and talk you into it. :lol_hitti

However, when I bought my stuff, I got the drill/driver and impact driver separate because then I was able to get two free things instead of just one, I ended up getting the 3/8 ratchet (totally awesome btw) and the stick light for free. Then I bought the 3/8 impact and got a battery for free.

Well finally received my Toolup order today and good thing I was out there plowing last nights snow with the JD when the Fed Ex gal came (even though she had 4wd the house 300 ft back and she was ready to walk all the up the drive when I noticed the truck down at the road. Her big concern was they had my address wrong (gawd wtf else can that place do next?) Yup only 2 of the 3 numbers where on the address label its a good thing she knows me.

So a cute little thing anyways (the tool mind ya and just not the fed ex gal ) So guess I will rate this whole transction a C+ Tool is fine brand new and in unopened box with no damage.

Haven't quite decide if it really fits my needs yet but I did talk to Real Tools Reviews about seeing if he can document the true RPM/torque differences outlined in the op manual between the 2755b and the 2754 models using his skidmore and tach which are contrary to most advertised online reviews.

Well here's a pic of the old impact arsenal anyways. And the new 2754 is a lot smaller than the old 2655B looking at it from back in pic #2. Just for grins I added a 3rd pic of the 2763 compared to a 2607 hammer drill. :D

So I had a bit of a light bulb go off today, and it kinda dawned on me that Milwaukee, Dewalt, and Makita all make a simple tool who's full potential and value seem, (to me anyway) to have been severely overlooked in a certain professional market. With a simple modification or the addition of cheap accessory, (or accessory package even) this tool can do something much more valuable then it's intended purpose, and do it in a pretty unique, user friendly way that would be a lot cheaper then what some other dedicated tools would cost..

I'm gonna email Milwaukee and see if anyone is interested.. it's actually an incredibly simple idea, not sure why those product development guys didn't think of it..

Don't get your hopes up. It insanely simple and wouldn't benefit the mass of people anyway.. I did email em.. I don't expect anything..

It's really just using a tool with a minor modification or designed accessory in a way it was never marketed to be used. Anyone could modify the one they owned in a crude way in 5 seconds to do this, but chances most people here would never need it anyway... just so happens I was looking at performance specs from a different product from another manufacturer and said, hmm - those are awfully close..

Just bought one of the 9.0ah batteries and charger. Got the Fuel circular saw with it for free. Gonna try out over the weekend. Will report back then.

About 2 months ago I owned nothing milwaukee. This forum has been so bad on my wallet. I use the ratchet so much though. Everything so far has impressed me very much. Minus the lantern. Still not a fan.

Nice selection of M12 tools. So what's your take on the M12 Rover light? Overall I like it its almost as bright as my original 2361 M18 flood light and more compact

Too bad about about the lantern but looking on the bright side at you at least didn't get the vacuum. :eyecrazy:

So far I like the rover. It's easy to slap on the bottom or side of a piece of equipment and use. Used it yesterday to change a drive chain for a conveyer that is in a completely unlit area. Had it on low for about 45 minutes and it worked great and didn't put a dent in the battery.
