The vacuum will only be used for a travel trailer. There is a deal at Home Depot for the 2897-22 drill and impact and also the 0880-20 vacuum for 348.00. Its the best deal that I have found so far on that combo kit plus the vacuum. I won't need any of them for quite some time, but it's a good deal.

Thanks for the info KC. I was going to stick with the 18v line. I will probably not need a lot of the other tools except the 3/8 impact gun that sells for around 159.00 for just the tool. Also I would probably consider the circular saw but that will be down the road. I'll know more in the spring of what my plans are.

Did anyone see what the starter kit ($199 value) was that acme was offering free with the M18 radio? Didnt pay attention to my email that day.

I shared the link in this thread but edited when the deal died.

m18 radio/5.0 battery/charger for $99.

$100 savings, not 200. Still a good deal.

Supposely the starter kit charger plus 5.0 batt is a $199 value from certain places...

amazon or ebay has 5.0 ah batts for $65-70 & the charger is only $30 so... :headscrat. lol

M18 radio is $99, 5.0 battery-charger kit is $149 on HD.com every day.

This deal works better than amazon/ebay lol
sell radio ($60-90), charger($35). you get to keep 5.0 battery for $5 or Free depending on the lowballers out there:rocker:

The vac works great. I used it to **** some water from a toilet and it didn't even blink under load. The runtime is limited, as anything with constant use will be.. with a 4.0 pack I think it'll run about 20 min or so (this is not exact) with constant use. It's great to bring out to car for cleaning, the tool storage under the lid is nice since the lid can be left open and that's not part of the vacuum chamber. you can use a brush attachment from a vac that uses the same hose size, I recommend getting one.. IMO it should have come with that, but they are cheap enough so it's not a big deal.. the "paper" filter is not exactly paper. You can run it under a hose and it will not deform, the element sort of repels water, so it's reuseable many times over. I'd have to compare it to one of those washable K&N filters for a car.

It's not a "clean my whole shop floor" type of vac - you're obviously not gonna be cleaning the gutters with it, but for small stuff it's great. I'd imagine you can easily connect it to miter saw for dust collection. Also, the blower port is inline with the suction, just on the opposite side. It makes it very easy to use that way. You can attach the crevice tool to the hose, and it will produce enough airflow to blow any dust off the hard to reach spot you can't reach with the suction hose. IMO it's worth the money for something so small and portable. An AC power option would have been nice, but I guesss you can't have it all.. it also doubles as a nice seat, or step stool if the need arises, depending on people's individual weights of course. I'm about 185 and I can stand on it if i need to..

just FYI, there is a new hand held m18 floor vac, similar in style to the dyson and shark. It's also about $100, but it's a dry vac only. This is it.

In case anyone hasn't been paying attention (not Milwaukee related), the 2,000 lumen snap on floodlights at Costco that started out at $39 a year or so ago, that were then lowered to $29, are now down to $18 now in stores with the instant rebate.. I have 6 of them and tried to talk myself into buying more but I just can't justify owning 8 or 10 of these things..

Anyone not familiar, search the hot deals forum "Costco led snap on".. at $39 they were the best corded LED floodlights you could buy. At $18, is almost a crime not to buy one..

I bought 2 of the snapon lights while visiting my mom in Colorado a couple years ago. I took the bracket off of them and mounted the lights on some old lamps so they are probably 4 feet high. They work great for painting.

Anyone feel like they're walking away from the M12 line somewhat? Outside the heated outdoor clothing there doesn't seem to be much happening vs the M18 line. I enjoy most of my Milwaukee items, but the M12 fuel tools are probably my most used.

No competition means they have little reason to put money into the platform. That being said, they did just release a few new lights and higher capacity batteries.

Milwaukee comes out on top ranked best in class for both their 6 1/2 trim saw and 7 1/4 framer :D

http://www.toolboxbuzz.com/head-to-head/best-cordless-circular-saw-high-demand-head-head/

I cant get over how light and balanced my 2731 is. I really am impressed with it. I am also chomping at the bit to get my hands on a 2730 and probably will by Springtime no doubt. I haven't let go of my old Makita yet its just so small and the line of sight is great to follow always dead on but if the 2730 is anything like the its big brother I am going to be happy happy!

I had tried had non fuel 2630 RECON from CPO last winter (but did send it back, the guide plate markings were off and no adjustment could make it correct :( ). Just as note it was a stout cordless saw but just felt a whole lot bigger and heavier than the Makita and even so I probably would have kept it without the flawed guide but after getting the 2731 there is nothing like the FUEL saws. And I feel they are worth the extra money (as is most of the line) and the available XC battery run time options are simply phenomenal right now.

Instead of adding the M18 Fuel 6 1/2, I complimented the M18 Fuel 7 1/4 with the M12 Fuel 5 3/8 2530 saw. The M12 is powerful and compact, perfect for 1" (3/4) small boards. Only drawback the the M12 is the poor blade selection and variety from any of the popular blade brands.

I can use that too. In another post I said that will more than likely replace the NiCad HF unit I have that just wont die :scared:

(Seriously I have had this thing for ages has quick charger and two batteries some apprentice kid damaged the shoe lock assembly last year when I let him use it at work I repaired it seems to be fine)

Curious though as to the battery life on a 2530 saw it being only 12v (the HF is 18v still). Saws do **** up some power. But a 6.0 should great with it I would think. Are these out yet? :headscrat

Anyhow a small light one hand use left side blade saw like that is the perfect tool for me when I build and repair harvest crates at the orchard business. The wood is only 1/4-3/8 inch thick on average so you don't nee a big saw. I also like the exceptionally narrow width of the shoe plate on the blade side of these saws too. I do like the deeper cut of the larger saw though and again left side blade for crosscutting multiple boards at once when I'm prepping the rough sawn sawmill lumber we source.

I noticed this as well. I really like that little saw for quick cuts. I'm having a tough time finding a Diablo blade for it. I mean, I have found them online but not at my local Home Depot or Northern.

This bag which I searched forever to get something to fit is perfect. The cardboard insert in the box for the base and head fits perfectly in the bag, and it is almost all the identical dimensions as when its all closed up. Posted about it in the spring last year.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D88JALK/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Thks!

Wow you just gave me a great idea And if it pans out I'm good to go...the bag in your link looks very similar to many of the storage bags that often come with pop up canopies like EZ-Ups and the like.

And I have several of these nylon bags hanging around (never throw the bags away it seems :D ) having gone thru some of these cheaper tents seasonally doing various outdoor marketing ventures for years. Some are zippered and some are just pullover.

Now I will see what I can do :)

And luckily I still have all my original boxing material too.

Milwaukee is sending me a free battery I guess - 2 or 3 weeks after me telling them their new jackets are a dud... raise the flag... I finally won a prize.

I have the m18 6 bay.. I know there's a 4 bay m12.. I was on eBay and saw that cause I had to buy an M12 charger.. some ******* must have stolen the one I used at work for my jackets off my truck.. my leatherman surge walked away 2 weeks ago too... that really pissed me off, cause there's no mistaking that as a company supplied tool...

Anyway just paid $15 shipped for the m12 charger off eBay.. I think the rapid is suppose to be 40 or 50% faster.. can't remember for sure..

Waiting on another m18 sawzall for work and the small blower... I might try and get some m12 stick lights for work if my boss doesn't hang me soon... I think I have 30 pairs of Knipex pliers and 10 Klein knives showing up if this guy gets everything I asked for last week.. got 100 Milwaukee sawzall blades today.. those things feel extremely impressive. They are very thick. The 6" and 9" "torch" is the model I picked

Using a canopy bag was something I considered as well, but they were too big or too small or too long. The bag in my link isnt exp and I was impressed with the quality, plus it came with a strap!

Rapid charger resale prices are plummeting, because they are being phased into all M18 Fuel kits, not just the 9.0 ones now. Going forward Fuel kits will have rapid, non-fuel will have normal charger.

You will enjoy those tools very much I'm sure. I bought the same M18 Fuel kit last Christmas on HD promo and it only replaced a 4 year old M18 non fuel drill and impact kit but the difference is night and day.

My girlfriend finally brought back my M18 flood I lent her family like a month ago. Thus, I was able to compare it against the M18 search light. I was pulling for the search light but the flood is much brighter and throws a huge area of light. The search light's spot function is awesome and is a nice versatile light while being easier to carry around. I don't think the flood function on it is really a replacement for the M18 flood. I'm going to record some video of them in a few scenarios and probably put out a comparison video. I need to get it done quick though as the search light is a present for Sunday!

I know exactly what you mean.. when I got my search light, that's kinda the flood light I was expecting, and why I was a bit underwhelmed with the search lights flood feature... Milwaukee could have made that better, but it is what it is..

That's a perfect example of lumens vs lux..

Here is my latest score. Apparently someone had opened the miter saw box and ripped off on of the 9.0 batteries. They were out of stock on the 9.0 batteries so they did one better and gave me a 7 1/4" 9.0 kit for 49.99 to make up the price difference. I already have the fuel skill saw so this new one will be sold which should bring the cost down even further but as it is after using the one key promo I got:

The miter saw
2 9.0 batteries
2 rapid chargers
7 1/4" fuel circular saw

All for just over 500 out the door. I'm tempted to sell the miter saw as I really was only interested in the 9.0 batteries but I got such a damn good deal on all of it I may just keep it, I'm sure I'll use it some day.

What stand do you guys recommend to go along with the Milwaukee miter saw?

That's ridiculous. I feel like such a chump having bought the Bosch 12" glider when these sweet M18 deals are out there.

For anyone interested in the lights, what you want to see if you were looking at the flood vs the search light head on? I might go out in a little while and record the footage since we need to wrap up the search light tomorrow probably before dark. I'm going to do an outdoor area test showing how much of the backyard is lit by each with a few landmarks "Shed is 80 ft, fence is 140 ft" sort of thing. Then also do one in the garage showing them lighting up a work area. Anything else I should grab some footage of while I'm at it? I'll probably also show the search light lighting up a tree on an adjacent block just because it's fun.
