Anyone have the m18 polisher. I had a corded dewalt that worked pretty good for the couple cars I've used it on. Brought it to work to polish the copper roof I'm building and the boss broke it within 5 min. He said he will buy me the same one or get me the Milwaukee m18 if I want that instead. Looking for real world feedback. I don't buy the claim that a car can be done on one 5.0 battery. Maybe the final polish or wax but definitely not any paint correction.

Blah.. I think the jump pack is a fail for what I was expecting... Either the advertised amperage is inaccurate or it just drained alot faster then I figured.. will have to try again and see how long it actually lasted.. just left it on the back of a chair today..

Why didn't they make the new FUEL die grinder variable speed? Instead its only off or on, 0 rpms or 20k rpms. Come on Milwaukee, I thought you were smarter than this.

I absolutely agree...SO close to hitting the mark. Fuel...20k rpms...locking slide switch...so so close.

Variable speed is must with die grinders IMO

I have one but have not used it yet, was already past car wash season when I got it. Will be doing many cars with it in the spring. When I got it I was surprised how big it is, very long, it seems like a modified hole hawg. It does seem like a bad a$$ tool and is variable speed, plus its Fuel.

I think it ends on the 25th. I really wanted to go for it but can't use it right now anyways. I'm sure there will be another promo out by spring. Maybe a april fools day promo, or mothers day. HD website had the 0880-20 vac with it then they pulled it. I didn't need any of the other tools that they offered with it.

Fan mod 2.0...not at pretty as the first round, mostly because I had to cut and grind all the marine epoxy/paint/glue/crud off and away. I was unhappy with having to grab an extension cord every time I wanted to use it, and admittedly one of the two 120v connections wasn't "the best". A lot better now, super solid. Also if I want to run it with a battery, the cord does not get in the way of the head articulation.

Fan mods!

Yeah I was about to pull the trigger on the vac with the discount yesterday and of course its been pulled. HD chat said they don't expect it back in stock until end of Feb.

I just received my string trimmer kit from ACME. It's really something you have to get in your hands to appreciate. Although I won't be using it until spring, it looks and feel built like a tank. I owned a landscaping company for years and am used to having a string trimmer in my hands for 8+ hours a day. The Milwaukee feels really comfortable and well balanced. Now I need to wait till the weeds and grass start growing to see how it compares power wise to the Redmax it's replacing for my home use.

Was in a HD today that has a new floor display fully stocked with sawzall and circular saw 9.0 promo kits. Didnt think stores would be restocked, and that the kit would be produced after the holiday season, wonder how long till they jack the price to $299 or more.

Also the Fuel 2780 Grinder is further marked down to $135 and saw a few Fuel 2763 1/2 impact at $180, grinder is the better of those deals. With a 150/200 promo those would be VG prices.

Those are "clearance" prices at my store so I don't think the 150/200 promo would stack? Or is it possible to do it online for store pick-up?

I find it interesting that they subtly hint the slide switch grinder is unsafe (eg pushing the "braking" grinder and only offering w the ****-tastic paddle switch) but the new 1/4" die grinder uses that evil slide switch which is SOOOO superior on these cordless units. I guess the new die grinder is unsafe (shrug)

I also received my String trimmer kit today. I felt the same as bigtim. It feels heavy but not too heavy. Seems to have good power. I really like the high/low switch. I won't be using it in the yard for a few months though. Now just waiting for the blower to show up.

At the rate the weather is going... You just might be using it by the end of the month.

Any thoughts on one being used by my 5' tall, 100 pound wife?

I see Makita has a brushless, curved trimmer that is shorter and lighter than their other cordless trimmers as well as the new Fuel. It's also adjustable in length.

Only yard work my wife does is trimming and she wants a cordless trimmer so I want to get the best one for her diminutive size.

I think black and decker makes a small cordless.. not sure you could really compare it to the Milwaukee. Dewalt has a 20v and 40v also I believe.

is Milwaukee just living off an old brand name as another forum tells us it is in particular that k900 is **** can be beaten by a cheap titan

http://www.ceforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=8263

Not sold here & Titan is cheap hand tools here. Never seen a power tool branded Titan.

There was a toolbox company on this forum that held a contest and made a big deal about naming their new company. They finally claimed to have decided on Titan Industrial Tool Storage (exceedingly unoriginal as "Titan" is as over-used here as "Buddy" or "Bear" to name a dog). There are Titan generators here too (cheap Chinese). Anyway someone pointed out that it was **** and I think **** went away. Did THEY become strictlytoolboxes? Or no?

I want her to look at the B&D. I'd prefer to have our yard tools on the same battery system as my next cordless tool system but that's not a deal breaker if 1) she's doing the trimming and 2) I'm not fiddling with her gas trimmer (a ~12 year old Stihl FS-55, FWIW).

I can't comment on the Milwaukee until tomorrow, but we used a Worx trimmer for the last three years and my wife was perfectly comfortable with it. She's got about 3"-4" and 30 lbs on your wife, but the thing is very light, very adjustable and of adequate power. I personally hated it but I still recommend it, I think it's of decent quality. The string feed mechanism can be frustrating but it's better with a higher quality line rather than the Worx brand line.

Which Worx model? As I recall they make a handful of trimmers in more than one voltage?

The string feeder on our Stihl is useless. There was something about the ones from that era that were/are problematic. We carry individual strings and push them into one of those cam type heads rather than trying to get the bump feeder to work.

Look forward to your comments on the Fuel.

I'll check tomorrow, but I know it's a 20 volt.

It's this one. Looks like they have a newer version in 20V. The one I have is $99 with two batteries, on their website. I got mine on eBay with one battery for $40 shipped, and it came directly from Worx.

Picked up the M18 Fuel Sawzall and Circular saw tonight, couldn't pass up with the 9.0 and $200 off combo. Pretty decent upgrade from the brushed Dewalt cordless I've been using for years.

Its heavier than the crappy 18v ryobi its replacing, but not as heavy as my first cordless trimmer which was a 24v lead battery weed eater brand.

The issue might be how long it is. Since the head is fixed, if she is trying to cut to the ground/base of something it would take holding it up fairly high/awkward.

Did anyone else notice the little metal piece that trims the excess string? The metal piece is symmetrical like they designed it to be reversed. That'd give you about an extra inch of cut diameter.

I reversed mine. I can't leave things well enough alone. It's in the home depot ad. Adjustable from 14-16 inches.

I have yet to find a decent bump feed head. I love my DeWalt 20v (couldn't wait for the red one), but the bump feed was horrible. I'd have to stop every 2 mins to re-feed the line. I swapped it out for a $20 cam head and now I just carry 14" pieces of precut line with me. It works 1000x better now! The cam head said for gas trimmers only, but my DeWalt spins it just fine.
