First post. I wanted to say thanks to the participants in this thread. I visited last week trying to see if Milwaukee might be releasing a M12 Fuel jig saw anytime soon. No luck there, but I did find out about the deal on the M18 Fuel 7-1/4 saw with high demand 9.0Ah battery and rapid charger for $249. I went to Home Depot and bought one Monday. I had been eyeing this saw for a while (at a substantially higher price) and never would have known about the deal without visiting this site. Thanks.
Welcome jba. Nice. I bought the sawzall 9.0 kit. :rocker:
I'd like your opinion on using a right-sided circular saw.
I am so close to getting the kit you did but im used to left-sided saws. :dunno:
i dont think any left-sided saw comes as a 9.0 kit for $250.

So I got a chance to try out the #4 mode setting of the 2754 impact wrench. It really surprised me when it kept banging away. I guess I was expecting something different like maybe a complete tool shutdown or something.

So does anybody know how exactly that works? It did stop or "shutdown' a few times but only if I was lightly feathering the trigger. And if I maxed out the trigger it never shut off all just kept banging away and tightened up enough I needed to switch back mode 3 to loosen it again. Is this working right or is it defective? It's bad enough as it is that it doesn't measure to its top rated rpm with my tach. Falls short by a few 100rpm. Seems powerful enough though.

This is the first Milwaukee tool I really ever questioned

I watched some half assed videos it seemed to show it to shutoff even at full trigger power in mode 4 best I could tell. Anyone care to comment? :dunno

Btw I was using both 1/2 bolt nut combo and also 3/8 with 3/4" and 9/16" sockets respectively for what it all matters.

I may not be the best person to ask. I grew up using a hand saw in the early years (influence from my grandfather). I'm right handed and was taught to hold the work piece with my left hand and saw with my right. The scrap from the cut was always on the right. When I bought my first circular saw it was a blade-right and this felt normal to me. I have the 6.5", blade-left saw and it's nice but seems a little awkward to me. That's one of the reasons I was interested in the 7-1/4 blade-right saw. It just feels better to me.

My 2754 shuts down in 4 but does hammer for at least a full second. I believe it happens after the fastener stops turning completely; I'm assuming it can sense any rotation.

Thank you for that. I get the hand saw thing. I usually do things right handed but use a left-side blade Skilsaw mag77 alot in construction both left and right-handed. Easy to line up a cut seeing the blade by it although a right-side saw seems a bit more intuitive. I like the $250 9.0 kit you got & I am mostly just hoping for another 15-20% off sale somewhere :) I wish they did a 6-1/2". saw 9.0 kit but I doubt they're much lighter to give up the cut depth.

I'm having a hard time resisting the 2725-21hd string trimmer kit. Is 299.99 the best price I'm going to find for the forseeable future? Any vendors with it in stock offering promotions or discounts?

please let me know if you find any deals on that also. I am excited to see that stores have it available, and just waiting until lawn season comes before I bit the bullet.

I'm sure there will be a few coupon codes for Valentine's Day. Acme has had some pretty great deals in the past few months.

I'd like your opinion on using a right-sided circular saw.

I've used both right and left sided saws.

One time I preferred right sided was when cutting plywood with an edge guide.

It was more comfortable for me to use a right sided saw when walking the saw along the 8' run of edge guide.

Similarly, when cross cutting plywood with an edge guide I preferred the right sided saw so I was standing away from the edge guide and clamps. In these situations you're paying more attention to the saws run along the guide rather than a cut line. If I used a left sided saw and wanted to stand away from the edge guide I'd have to run the saw with my left hand.

I used to cut a lot of plywood this way so I grew accustomed to using a right sided saw.

Nowadays I rarely break down sheet goods and if I did I'd get a track saw. I'm thinking my next circular saw will be left sided.

Hazlet - that brings back memories. About 40 years ago, when I lived in NJ, I used to drive through there with my dad on the way to Atlantic Highlands to go fishing. On the way home, we would stop in a place called Jim's Burger Haven, I think it was on Rt. 36.

Hate to tell ya it's not there anymore. There's an AutoZone there now.. place was closed awhile before then. It's literally 1/2 mile away from my house. I think it was open when I first moved here from NY.

Got my M12/18 BT speaker today from Acme. Saturday Fedex, cool.

Only tried it in the car (delivered as we were driving away). Seems fine but can't judge sound quality in a small space while its sitting in my lap.

For you guys talking about the circular saws

I trim down a lot of board stock 3/4" and less and have really gotten quite used to the left side blade on a lightweight 6 1/2 inch cordless saw. I have a Makita. Mostly one handed use for quick crosscuts. I'm right handed and so my left would be holding the stock. Drawback mostly the entire base and the full weight of the saw is out over your cutoff piece but good line of site and I usually watch the blade on the line.

But recently I got the "deal" the 9.0 and 7 1/4" circular, hard to beat it!

And to me a right hand saw blade is more adapted to using both hands on the
saw for right handed person. If I hold the 6 1/2 with both hands crossing over with my left I now cant really see the blade at all.

Also I most often use the plate guide notch to follow a marked line with a righty and generally using both hands on the saw but watch the blade on the line with the lefty using just one hand to hold the saw too.

Of course many corded right side cut sidewinders most always required using two hands simply because of the overall tool weight. but since owning 2731 I find the lightweight Fuel now lends itself pretty good to one hand control too.

It's a good 2lbs lighter than my corded Makita

I normally don't use cords for handheld power saw at all anymore.

So I do use both types and sometimes one just works better/easier in certain applications like trimming off a rafter tail or doing a countertop cutout. Right to left cut vs. left to right cut...

Though with enough skill you make what ya got work :D

IMO if you had to pick only one to own obviously define your needs. A 6 1/2 is fine for crosscuts and limited rip use. 7 1/4 design been a standard for most construction work for a long long time now.

I appreciate that information. I usually use a chaulkline & I bet a guide sure would help staying straight at times. Also, using a left-blade saw on the right end of a board is a small balance act.
The 9.0 saw kits should be around for a bit.
I plan to get one soon. Not tethered to a cord is awesome. The Fuel sawzall is sweet. I got some 12" "Ax" blades in the $100 of blades to use & wait for the free corded sawzall I hope.

I got the m18 Fuel 6.5" saw a couple years back...wanted left blade but was worried the shorter depth of cut would be an issue. Turns out the left blade far outweighs the shorter depth. Ive used it a ton of times to cut 2x, sheet stock, etc and couldnt ask for more.

But then the 9.0Ah promo with free circ saw came out....along with the 150/200 off promo, I ended up with the kit for 182. Dont have to have the full size circ saw, but 182 for the saw, 9.0Ah pack and fast charger? Couldnt really resist.

So Ign posted earlier he received the 2891 BT first  but the one I also preordered just arrived too.
And by my favorite FedEx person who drove the full length of my 300ft driveway and brought to my door unlike the UPS driver which I also found out just now left my CPO delivery an 18V LED Sticklight in the snow at the town road end of my long drive I believe YESTERDAY afternoon by the date on the pkg.

So here's a couple quick pics. I do like the multi battery setup. Now I just have figure out how the door opens for aux, usb and AC power jack not even covered in the manual. Edit: Well turns out that is pretty funky the way its attached. :headscrat

So it paired up quick and easy to my first device I have some Gary Allen tunes at max volume right now playing. I am going reserve my opinion on the overall sound quality at this moment until I play a few more recordings by some different artists. What is neat is the 3 directional sides of the speaker. I have the unit standing up vertical. Really liking the carry handle on the end a lot too.

Surprisingly there are already a few youtube reviews including one where Workshop Addict repeatedly dunked it in a bucket of water. Its is IP 54 rated. Dunno if the radio will do that! :p

Update: So I have been playing this new speaker for over an hour now and for my type of music I like it as for others YMMV. I do think it is a bit high priced at $149 right now and $99 would probably be a much better price point :dunno: but what I do quickly realize is that it absolutely needs some keyhole slots to hang on a dang wall/stud, either vertically but especially horizontally. Try it out...hold it up high on wall sounds great with the tri directional speakers. Think about it...wouldn't that be the best place to put it high and up out the way!

Sometimes ya gotta wonder about that JOBSITE engineering they always talk about with Milwaukee.

Edit: DFB, thanks for your input as well.

Thanks for the input Chrisexv6. For cuts across siding is when a corded 7-1/4 isn't too great. I've used a 5"-something Ryobi before. Light but missing 1/2 a sack, lol. I plan to get both m18 fuel circ saws eventually but not the 6-1/2 right now at it's current price around $200, 7-1/4 with 9.0 is $250. At least I have the Fuel sawzall to keep be occupied for now. Yes, the door on the new BT speaker for aux/ac/USB is seemingly glued on the first time you go to remove it. After that it's much easier. There's no trick, just pull

Maybe these hanging strap things from HD (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-24-in-Zinc-Plated-Steel-Hang-All-36287/204695688) would help you hang the radio, perhaps with a little bigger carabiner to hook on to the side handles. Either that or some 1/2" webbing to hook to the existing mini carabiner. They're available in 18, 24 and 36 inch lengths. I got some as a stocking stuffer in December and am finding them useful for various jobs already.

I had the same experience with my 2755B. The shut off was inconsistent at best, and most times it's just kept hammering. I had another weird issue with it vibrating a ton when it was pointing down towards the ground...something was rubbing/grinding in the gear case. That was the last straw, so I sent it in for repair and they took care of both things. Got a new gear case and speed mode assembly. No more vibrations, and #4 now works a lot better, but the impacting times still vary.

Regardless, it doesn't NOT stop impacting anymore, so I'd send it in for repair. Good luck [emoji106]

I really want to get the new mid torque impact...I'm definitely going to sell my 2755B (with boot, excellent shape, case included if desired---PM me if interested), but I can't decide whether or not I should also part with my 2763.

What would you guys do? Part with or keep the 2763? I have an air compressor, so I'm thinking that I could save the crazy stubborn stuff for an air impact. The 2763 is reallllly nice though...

I dunno I guess I would have to try it out first to see what it really can do. If it's mainly for lug nuts probably will be all you may need. I'm really looking forward to having one myself too, but I never thought about getting rid of my 2763 that's been great when needed for tractors/implements work. but I agree you more than likely wouldn't need the 1/2" compact. I could possibly even dump the 3/8 compact as have the M12 Fuel.

Thks for clarifying things about that 2754. I thought about what Ign had said that maybe the tool was still sensing movement so I clamped up the nut and bolt a little different in the vise (something I seen on video) and it does seem to disengage with a certain amount of repeatability though I do not really know where they get that 1 sec rating from seems to be at least 5 secs or better on average. And then I marked and checked the torque with a torque wrench I consistently get about 25 ft lbs with a coarse thread 3/8 bolt/nut combo. At this point its the only sized I tested again. If I keep it up I might end up wasting too many fasteners then I'll need to ask for monetary donations like RTR. :D

Thks for that link and strap idea. It more than likely would work hanging it vertically from the end handle. Too bad their is only one handle on one end.

I do have some nylon web strap and carabineers around maybe I can rig up something.

I was looking at closer today each of the 6 sides is like 3.5 inches so it could sit on 2x blocking between studs 16 O.C.. but of course that'll only work if you have an open wall. Otherwise because of the hexagonal shape looks like one would need a shelf at least 5.5 wide minimum or even better from 8" wide stock.

Seems that they pretty much designed it just to sit on a table, shelf or stand up in a room corner. Guess it might fit on a window sill too.

I've been using the latest M18 Flood light and I thought it would be nice if there was a good way to securely hang it upsided down from a high point. Sure you could put bungees in the holes but I wanted them not just inside the key holes, so I drilled holes for the end to pass through. Why wouldnt they have made it with pass through holes....

THE MILWAUKEE SHELF

This is largely tongue-in-cheek and I just did it 'cause the stuff was lying around:

I've been wanting a little shelf on my charger wall to set batteries that are fully charged. So I had the brackets from the 60" workbench I just got through the 1/2 off deal (deal is long gone if you didn't know about it). These are apparently supposed to support the pegboard when it's up but I won't be using the pegboard on the workbench. So I laid out a bend line and broke 'em a little more to make a suitable shelf bracket. Incidentally the paint Milwaukee uses is impressive; it didn't crack or flake at all.

Then I also recently got the Milwaukee 46" upper for $75 on HD clearance (that deal is also long gone) and removed the stupid work surface or writing surface or whatever that is. I grabbed it from the scrap bin for the shelf surface and cut it up.

Added a few rivets.

Mounted to wall with tapered self-drilling sheetmetal screws for my thin wall panels.

I just find it amusing it's a shelf for my Milwaukee batteries from Milwaukee steel components :D

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but Acme tools has the 2797-22 Fuel kit for $229.99 USD. I just bit the bullet and bought one because I'm still kicking myself for not jumping on the Home Depot deals last week.

Can anyone tell me if I can run a any of the M18 Fuel Torque Impacts with just a regular M18 Red Lithium battery?

I have 2 of these batteries for my current Drill and Driver, I wanted to add a Torque Impact tool only but I am not sure if my current batteries are compatible with the Fuel Torque Impact line?

Appreciate any help!

You did fine. That's still a great kit @ near the price of the non-Fuel brushless such as 2799-22cx.
You do get good 5ah batteries I think. $120+ right there.

My total with regular M18 radio & 2897-22 was $350 so even though I got good prices Im still out more dollhairs.
Tax nowadays adds up. :wtf:

Cool I didn't know they marketed that style oil filter wrench. I have two different sizes of Channellocks oil filter wrenches that are similar.

Good price on the nutdrivers too

So not to beat a dead horse here but I thought I would pass on my very last correspondence from ACME C.S and the interaction on my behalf with their Milwaukee representative. Just came email I wasn't even expecting additional responses since the last time

"Hello,

Thank you for reaching out with those pictures and waiting while we waited for an update from the manufacturer. I got confirmation today from our Rep at Milwaukee that the 9.0AH will not fit for the floodlights and they don't currently have any plans of making a handle that does fit. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns."
