Ok guys, thanks for all the help with sourcing the trimmer/blower package.

I could have saved $27 in sales tax if I ordered from Acme but they were out of stock and more importantly it is easier to return the product to HD if it doesn't work out.

Got them assembled and the battery charged. Wife will try the trimmer out in the next few days I suspect.

It will be interesting to see how it compares to our reliable old Echo SRM 110 purchased in 2003 and still going strong save for it being a bit difficult to start on the first start of each season. I've run treated fuel in it since day one. The plug has never been pulled and it still has the original primer bulb.

Good luck with the trimmer!

Do you happen to know where I can buy a wife that will trim for me? Thats worth a lot more than 299.

Milwaukee said they had them in stock if you buy direct.

I got mine from Nick on Facebook.

I just picked up the Sub-Compact Band Saw Kit from HD with the free 6.0 battery. This thing is great for EMT work!

My stores have been so slow to post the price or the free 6.0 promo, it started over a week ago. They will probably move more of this kit than they did at the $169 price back in April.

I don't know if this is news or not. But my hd had the m12 fuel drill / impact driver combo down to $199.. I think it comes with one of the xc batteries too..

What's the turnaround time on warranty repairs?
My new 3/8" M12 impact was intermittently dying. It'd turn a medium torque bolt (~15mm or so) and then die. No battery or white work lights, nothing wrong with the directional switch, and my other battery wouldn't revive it. Tried it again 20 min later, it'd do a few bolts and then die again. Battery didn't seem to have any play, so maybe there's a bad switch or battery monitor.
It was within HD's return window, but I had a nice grease lining, so I figured warranty was the way to go. Hopefully they confirm, replace, or deny the warranty quickly

a week. but if it is within return policy, I myself would like a new tool if possible, but I keep my tools looking like I don't use my tools (2 reasons for that :D ). Go to Milwaukee's webpage for service, and enter all the details. make sure to tick the box that says under warranty. you print the fedex label, send it off, get it back in a weeks time or so, at least that was my situation. super fast, and don't have to talk to anyone.

I sent my drill out last Wednesday, got it back this Wednesday. Pretty quick. Print the label, drop it off at FedEx. Like said make sure you check the under warranty box, and I sent in a copy of my receipt. Not sure if it's required or not but I sent it so they would know how long I've had it.

I think of it like having the kit for $170 then the 6ah for only $30. I just returned the regular kit to (maybe) purchase this 3-batt kit. [emoji28] . M18 isn't too heavy usually at work so I Ihavent used M12 yet.

Kudos to the CS at ACME/Milwaukee

Been waiting on my backordered cordless CT kit drywall gun to be delivered got the email the other day it had been shipped and was in transit so when that Fed Ex gal come up my long dirt drive in her 4wd rig I kind of figured that would be it...but that big ACME logoed box was wicked light when she brought it into the garage for me so I was a bit confused.

I was pretty busy but did take a moment to slit the tape and look inside lo and behold just liked they promised me

A new upgraded M18 ROVER LIGHT

Cool!

Oh man all I really wanted was a $3.00 handle upgrade

But hey...I'll take it :D

So the labeling does say it is 30% brighter and as soon as I get a some time (I am right out straight with work for the next few days here) I will check it out to see what real noticeable difference there is between the old ROVER and this one.

I just received the grease gun. I added a fitting so I can fill it from a drum pump we have at work. The instructions could have used some detail on bulk filling but no matter. For those that might want to do it, there are marks on the shaft when you pull it out that tell you 3/4 1/2 and so on. I left the shaft in instead of pulling it out like you would with a cartridge. Filled it with the pump via the grease fitting until it looked about 3/4 full. Pushed the shaft in and bled with the valve on the front. It works great so far. I have only used it once though.

thanks. didn't mean to freak out on it but it was a timing issue. either repair or return. it's not perfect, but it's much much more acceptable given it's a hammer drill, and i don't see it affecting anything. i was very impressed with the turnaround time.

So what did Milwaukee do for you...did you get a different drill or chuck?

And the runout with a long bit is acceptable now?

Did you post about it in any other related thread I may have not seen?

I need to order one of those damn boots...

I had diff fluid get into the head of the ratchet and now it's pretty hard to ratchet by hand.

On a different topic, anyone know of a good deal on the M18 18G brad nailer? I was considering buying the Ryobi for $99, but I'd have to pick up batteries and a charger as well. For the right deal, I think I'd rather just stick with Milwaukee stuff...

I need a 1/2" drill bit for a project but I will be using a smaller drill bits in the future. What twist bit set should I buy for under $25?

Will work on metal.

Is this a good deal??? 2694-22CX for $170

I don't really need a new drill as I recently upgraded the batteries in my Dewalt, but a cordless sawzall would come in handy.

Employee pricing through my daughter :D

Those are not the Fuel models, so I personally would not get that.

If it is all the same deal as listed most places online I have just looked ...the 2606 drill and 2621 sawzall plus one 3.0 XC and one 1.5 compact ALONG WITH the 48-89-2800 14-piece black oxide drill bit set, the 49-22-1105 5-piece demolition SAWZALL blade set, and contractor bag overall you get a lot of stuff for the money.

Online searching that specific part# shows many higher selling prices than $170

The tools though brushed are still very capable the batteries are the minimum offerings in their respective classes compact and XC but again still both very capable of powering the tools (some of us here have been spoiled on higher AH batteries over time)

If you don't want the drill sell it and but you may find you might like over the Deawlt :D

Also just noticed 6.0 batteries (48-11-1860) on the list for $36 each. So if I through in a couple of those, I would have a nice little set-up.

Well not 6.0's - but I bought these off Amazon 2 years ago. Just noticed they're still listed. Single 2.0's for $34 shipped.

Milwaukee Electric Tool GIDDS2-811057 M12 12V 2.0 Battery Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CHU9ZDE/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Or you can try these aftermarket 5 star rated batteries for $14 a piece shipped. Advertised as 2.5, reviewer claims his is actually a 2.1. $14 shipped it might be worth it if you need extras.

I recently bought knock off batteries for my old Makita stuff both in 12v and 18v platforms for about $16- $18 each (and free ship) from an Amazon source.

They hold a charge longer than the originals, will see how the long they last. Wont be hard to beat OEM Makita either. I will never ever buy an $90 OEM battery for those tools again! :p

----------------

As a side note personally so far I found have found no need to go secondary sourcing for any of my Milwaukee batteries so far and just seems like factory promotions are almost constant with tool purchases since I went Team Red

Omg I still have batteries I haven't even opened the packages since receiving them yet.:D

Some of the Milwaukee employee discounts are amazing. I had a working friend there a few years ago and was able to get the first year of the heated jacket for $60 with a battery and an M12 stick light for $18. He's unfortunately no longer working there, but they do big employee promotions a few times a year (Father's Day and around Christmas if I remember right).
