Today when doing yard work, the blower with a 9.0, I noticed a dropoff in power when the battery went to 1 bar, was surprised by this. Put a volt meter and got readings of ~13v, ~14v, ~15v at the 3 positive terminals, shouldnt it read closer to 18v even at low level. After fully charging it was ~18v, ~19v, ~20v. Why isnt it consistent on all 3?
I only learn about how stuff I own works after I start having trouble with it. I haven't had trouble with any of my Milwaukee stuff, so my experience is with other brands and laptops. There are usually only one terminal connected directly to the negative and one connected to the positive terminals of the battery pack. The others have various functions to "tell" the tool (or charger) the condition, charge level and temperature of the pack. One laptop battery pack had 2 connections each for positive and negative, I guess to spread the load over 2 terminals.
