The friction ring model also has a slower first speed for easily running down nuts/bolts.
I'd get the friction ring.
Serious? That *****... I hate how slow that speed 1 is. I wish it was faster![]()
Serious. And that's what modes 2 and 3 are for [emoji6]
Why would the guns have different speeds? Doesn't make sense to me that they would make different modes depending on the the anvil socket holding method.

Only problem is mode 2 has more torque than my lug nuts require. Even with a long extension. Guess I'll have to stick to 2 impacts for lugs for now.
Why would you need 2 impacts? Impacts aren't made to just hammer on Lug nuts, it requires more accuracy than that.
I've been wanting one for a while, and today while at Farm and Fleet I finally splurged and bought a Tick just to play with... Get it home and discover the One-Key app requires Android 5.0 or higher.
So I guess I'll be returning it.The Android phone I use as a remote for my camera only has 4.4.2 on it and cannot upgrade. I also looked on the packaging and it doesn't say 5.0 and up anywhere on it. Just "Download the free app now! Android app on Google Play"

Get Torque sticks. Why would you need 2 impacts? Impacts aren't made to just hammer on Lug nuts, it requires more accuracy than that.
I like to get them to about 50ftlb then lower the vehicle and torque them.This.
And you can feather the trigger. Crazy idea, I know!
Let me know if the rohm fits...I thought I read the spindle size on the 2704 is unique, not like the first gen fuel hammer drill.

A compact 3-4Ah battery with 21700 cells would be [emoji120]
Do you have a model number for the chuck? Thanks.Rohm made new chucks specifically because there's enough demand for the 2703/2704 to warrant it, they sent me one to check out and I just popped it on today. No issues at all. It's slightly shorter, all black, and has a cap at the end that spins freely so you don't mar your workpiece.
I would be very excited for that. My Dewalt 996 is stronger than the 2704 but the 2704 is more maneuverable. A slim pack with 5 21700 cells at 3000-4000 mAh would be the ultimate compromise between a compact drill and full size power.
Great, thanks!I'll get back to you on that.

Feathering it results in either to tight or way too loose![]()
Practice makes perfect, grasshopper![]()

Don't need any more, thanks for playing though bub.![]()

Your "issues" suggest otherwise bub![]()
More realistically it just shows your lack of experience and knowledge on the subject... it's ok, I understand.![]()
I'll get back to you on that.
One to loosen and one to tighten. I could get a torque stick but it's not that big of a deal to grab my m12 impact for tightening. I just don't understand why speed 1 is so slow it's basically useless.I like to get them to about 50ftlb then lower the vehicle and torque them.
On 4 mode impacts I use the mode 4 for tightening
The mid torque only has 3 modes unfortunately
Take off all lug nuts
Do repairs, rotate, etc
Put Torque stick onto Impact.
Put on all lug nuts.
Seems like maybe an extra 5 seconds of work and maybe $50-$80 in tools.
Every vehicle is different and 80 ft lbs works for you but may not work for other people.

I just don't get all the complaining about the impacts being too strong putting on lugs????? How did you do lugs before? If you can't figure out how to not over torque them then why not get a 3/8 impact that is weaker?
Just what are the RPM and torque values for the 3 different modes on a new Mid Torque anyways?![]()
Was this directed at someone????
If me, do you read the posts or just hit reply???
