Got my Mid Torque finally to go with my M12 fuel Impact driver. Surprised the closeness in length. Also have a boot on the way from Tool Barn.

That is awesome to see. I was in a situation removing a caliper bolt this week on a BMW where my m12 didn't have the balls to get it done due to using a swivel socket, but I could not fit in my larger impact. It was super frustrating, and I couldn't get a breaker bar on it either. The mid-torque that I have being delivered tomorrow would have worked perfectly if it's that close in length.

So are you guys finding the mid torque strong enough for 50% of the work? 75% 90%? Debating between the new high torque or mid torque.

Better than 90% for me.

I just work on standard vehicles though. No large Diesels or tractors for me.

I don't use either of mine a lot, but I'd say it depends on what your work is.. the mid torque is not a replacement for the big guy.. I was honestly expecting it to do a little more on my last project with my truck, but I had to swap back to the big gun a lot more than I expected.. mind you, that was removing the bed off a 95 dually, wheels, leaf spring removals - on an old truck, so not exactly easy.. if you're using it for home on you're newer Honda, I'm sure it would be great for that.

Just picked up the Mid Torque as well, I love it. The High Torque model was too big and heavy, overkill for what I need. I need to order the rubber boot for mine. I ended up just getting the pin detent model from Home Depot, I didn't feel like ordering the friction ring model online. I wonder why that version disappeared from stores.

Probably need the big one if it struggled on an f350. I just hate how big the strong one is.

The second gen big half inch impact will be coming out this year I believe. I plan on getting one of those myself, you may want to wait until it comes out to get one

I got the kit with the 3/8 and the half. There a lot of areas in life where you can get a medium or a small and a big one. (Chainsaw, trailer, jack...) Usually the second option is the way to go. If you get the medium it will be too small for some things and to big for others....not right for anything.

I have all 3 and after getting the mid torque I think I'm going to sell my 1/2" high torque once the new ones come out and replace it with a 3/4" gen 2 high torque.

How much weight does the mid-torque save over the high torque?
Almost 2lbs. 3.8lbs versus 5.7lbs.

I love the power of the big gun, but after wrestling it around on my back doing a 4runner clutch at home, I immediately bought the mid torque.

i got mine also. really like it. i also ordered a boot from tool barn, on july 5th. they still haven't sent it yet. after i ordered, they supposedly still had three left in stock. this morning, they supposedly still have two in stock.

not really impressed with their service so far. the only plus is that it appears they have it in stock. i had the local guy order me a 48-12-0011 boot yesterday (the 6th). i wonder if he will get his in stock before toolbarn ships?

You might want to call them, I ordered mine on July 4th and got a shipping notification and tracking number on the 5th. Shows it should be here on the 12th.

I was using my old-school original M18 DC charger yesterday in my truck (2710-20). It charged several compact 1.5 and 2.0 packs great for me. Toward the end of the day I put a 9.0 on it for grins. I knew it'd take forever but I didn't care, I was finishing up and about to drive home.

Anyway it got the 9.0 to three bars and then just died LOL. No life whatsoever from the charger if plugged into DC. It still works on AC however. I'm gonna see if there's a fuse in the DC plug, but it doesn't exactly look like there's room and I'll have to pull three screws to find out.

The manual simply says "there are no serviceable parts." That's helpful.

I'm still not sold on the new combo DC charger they're releasing 'cause they dropped the ball by eliminating the AC/DC plug. If I'm going away from the shop I may want to plug it into my cigarette lighter or I may want to plug it in in a motel room or cabin or jobsite genny or or or or or..................

If the 2710 can't handle 9.0's I'm ok with that, I guess now I know. Just need to get it working again and/or decipher build date and see if I can warranty it.

I have to put in one of the floors they sell in Home Depot for family. I'm thinking jigsaw and an omt to cut and trim all the pieces? Would love a miter saw as well for straight cuts but can't swing it. What do you guys think?

nothing from toolbarn today, and the order status page still says processing. the boots are now out of stock.

they are not there, so i can't call them. i emailed the sales address. hopefully their systems are just screwed up, and it got sent out, as they promised me, and are not making me wait until monday, on the hope that they really did save mine.

Toolbarn is kinda sketchy.....more specifically just really bad customer service when I've had to correspond w them. I've completely removed them from my radar, won't open their emails, visit their site or order from them. There's just too many choices online.

That's just me, when I DID order from them years ago I always received everything as I recall.

What kind of floor? Either way a miter is not absolutely necessary but helpful. Anything on floors that you can do with a miter can be done with a circ saw. If you're doing long runs a table saw is way more helpful for the end boards.

As for the jig saw and OMT. I would go either or, but not both. Depends on how much door trim you're cutting.

They have an M18 rotary and an M12 sander/polisher. Im not sure if the M12 is random orbital or not, though.

The Milwaukee addiction thread! 😊

I went to Lowe's yesterday and decided to buy the Kobalt wall mounted cordless tool shelf. I'm usually unimpressed with products like this but for the $99 that it costs I'm fairly happy with it. I wasn't sure how my Milwaukee products would fit in it because it was designed for kobalt tools but they fit really good.

Dang that's annoying. I bet there is a fusible link somewhere on the DC side, that's sort of the industry standard. Keep us posted. Take pics of the internals if you don't mind [emoji16]

Totally 100% agree with you on not making the new one AC/DC. Luckily you can get 120VAC to 12VDC cigarette lighter power supplies for cheap on Amazon/eBay. They're generally not *that* bulky either...still a huge oversight on Milwaukee's part.

I read in one of the reviews on Lowes website that you have to remove bit holders and belt clips from drills and drivers to fit in the holder. Is that true? Not a big deal, just curious.

Very interested in picking one of those up. Local Lowes sold the 1 they had, and haven't had another come in since. I keep meaning to drop by and ask, or get one ordered.

I'm not sure, I'll have to check. I remove all my stuff all the time so it's not something I noticed.

I have been looking at updating my old very old dewalt tools and thinking about making the jump to red. I do have a few questions, is there a difference between the m18 and the units that say m18 fuel?.

I believe I found the thread that explains things.

M18 (and M12) are the battery lines. The "fuel" part are the better brushless models.

I put my 1/2" high torque impact in there and took some pictures. It sits the furthest back by far of the 4 I have in there.

In the fewest words... Jamie V says the most...

I have gotten rid of all my 14.4v dewalts... several of my 18v dewalts. I kept 2 my right angle drill and sawzal... I got the 20v to 18v adapter. I kept a few 20v lithium dewalts...

I started buying M12s... if it's offered as a Fuel... I buy that one. I am holding off buying the ratchets till the Fuel versions come out later this year.

So far... there are only 2 M18 tools I want... The Fan... and possibly the new Impact coming out.

I have the m12 sander and it is not random. It ***** for sanding, I only use for something very small or late at night. Otherwise my air powered random orbital one works much better

I used it to polish some headlights and it worked well for that

Do you use it with Roloc discs? Is it just under powered? Or low RPM? I was hoping to get one soon not to replace my die grinders but for those times when I'm about to weld or just finished welding where I only have a small area to clean up. It would save dragging out the air hose so much. I haven't been able to find much info on them as far as sanding capabilities. It seems most people use them for polishing.
