It works fantastic for exactly what you're talking about. I mostly use mine with Roloc discs for cleaning off gasket material from valve covers, and stripping metal to weld. Also have ground off some old welds with sanding discs, and polished up an old Snap-on box coated in overspray.Do you use it with Roloc discs? Is it just under powered? Or low RPM? I was hoping to get one soon not to replace my die grinders but for those times when I'm about to weld or just finished welding where I only have a small area to clean up. It would save dragging out the air hose so much. I haven't been able to find much info on them as far as sanding capabilities. It seems most people use them for polishing.
It's very obviously not a random orbital, it just works like a die grinder.



though I do have big corded Craftsman. Remembering back to the days when I have used it more I can see how having cordless one would be really great.
