The ratchets are easily one of my most used tools. I use it even in areas where I could get an impact on fasteners 3/8" and smaller. Definitely my biggest time saver.

Ok... hardhat light, - awesome... used it tonight.

The new shockwave lineman auger bit - holy hell, the thing is twice as fast as the old model bits.. this bit will easily double the amount of holes that can be drilled with that cordless 7/16 hex drive high torque fuel impact.. and it's lighter too.. big chips of wood are thrown from the back of the bit, not DUST..

The usb rover, great light for inspection and survey work. Small enough to fit in your pocket and it gives off a nice wide flood light.

Just ordered the pen light, and the usb charger kit with spare battery.. don't think I'm gonna get the new flashlight, just cause, cmon - how many friggin flashlights am I gonna buy...

Are you able to cinch the strap up enough where it can fit on your head without a hard hat?

Yes, you "can" use it as a headlamp, but you probably wouldn't want to. This model has a little weight to it, and it's wide. The back of the light has a rubber backing to help grip the plastic of a hardhat. It's not very comfortable just on your head..

Their headlamp model is smaller and has a padded absorbent band for your head..

In other news, I just thought I'd share the level of talent I'm working with these days. This guy I'm with is drilling 3/4" holes into a pole with the m18 fuel drill and an 18" long ship auger bit. he insists leaving it in hammer mode cause it's "better that way".

Thank you for this. Tempted to get one and try and "make it comfortable". I know they sell sweat bands at my local welding supply store...hmm.

I just want a rechargeable headlamp that has quality light color (4000K) and decent CRI (85+)...that shouldn't be a tall order!

I really am hoping these will be used much more than my old 3/8. I can see them being very useful in tight areas.

Im a sucker for lights, preorder M18 rover, AAA penlight, AAA headlamp, M1 sticklight, $166, sill got free ship.

I just tried it and got free shipping too - that's not that bad now.

Considering the new M18 Rover, USB Rover/Stick, and USB hard hat = $167 shipped...

The USB Rover makes a great interior ligbt for a work truck or van with exposed metal roof. Magnet is nice and strong. Light is bright enough to do the interior. That's where mine is living for now..

Found a good use for the M18 shop blower the other day, used it to purge the cooling system on one of my cars

80I used it to unclog my vacuum a few weeks ago.

The regular Milwaukee "headlight" is in some stores. They have it by me, and it also comes with the same hardhat clips the hardhat light does.

I'm trying to buy the m12 fuel hackzall display unit in my HD right now.. they don't sell em in the stores anymore, so what's the use of a display right? Fingers crossed.

I ordered a bunch of **** online with my personal credit card, with the intention of returning it and rebuying it on another card at the register. (Long story) so they are telling me they can't sell it back to me, and it all needs to be sent back since it's all special order. The hackzall was one of the items...

Eh. Shot down... Bastards..

Yea agreed... I just picked up the m12 fuel drill / impact combo, and the m12 spot light for work.. It was hard to walk away from such a good price but I already have one at home, and there's really no need for one at work.. I'm gonna try to get this place to order a few of the gen1 rocket tower lights, search lights, and maybe some of the new hardhat lights too. Also gonna try and get a few of the m18 fuel d handle sds hammer drill. If they go for all of that, I might sneak in that smaller fuel sds to keep in this little van they gave me. They asked for another list of anything else I think they should get.. so far most everything I asked for has shown up so, we shall see.

Does HD put the clearance items in a separate section or still in the tools area?

I was going to pickup one of the deals with the 3/8 ratchet, fuel drill and LED light for $174 but I've made a mistake, they don't have stock and if I order now it won't arrive in store till Wednesday, we fly home on Sunday, doh!
Worth getting the bare 3/8 ratchet though, it's still half the price here than in the UK.

Got one store at clearance. Haven't bother getting it. I have a PC 7424 that meets my needs and my handicap with soft paint lol

yes, they do.

sorry, what? ok, sometimes they put them in a special area.

one local store had an aisle on the side, parallel and next to the front of the store, where they collected clearance items.

another has two end-caps at the back of the store where they put small "hanging peg" items, but leaves the larger items either on the regular shelves, or *sometimes* on end-caps near the section they belong to.

and, occasionally, both seem to leave a shopping cart full of one item, with a big sign on the side, in a random aisle, usually unrelated to the item.

since they are both in the same "district", i assume it is store manager's discretion.

Anyone have any insight on the new Milwaukee M18 Fuel 7-1/4″ Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw coming out soon?

I do not currently own a miter saw, and would like one for basic DIY tasks that I would like to learn how to do (crown, trim, wainscoting..etc).

Would there be any reason why I would need a 10" or 12" and not get by with this smaller size?

Clearance aisles/endcaps are placed in location at the store managers discretion. I just did a bay reset for our store and we had an online return for their new metal circ saw for 149

The only thing that you might not like is the height that the smaller saw will allow. It only has 3-1/2” Vertical Capacity so you'd have to lay down a lot of boards/trim to cut angles vs. standing them up. I have the 10" version and have been really happy with it. It has a 5-3/4"vertical capacity so I can cut angles on taller trim and 1x6's vertically with no issue.

Is it harder or an issue making those cuts with the board laying down ?

Yep, it is for me, especially if dealing with longer boards. I also feel like it's more accurate when standing up, but that may just be me.

Great!

What comparisons can you make between the two?

I have the M12 max pressure falls right between the two M18 ranges Counter seems like a cool feature though :D

Didn't have a chance to use it much today but the preset counter is a nice feature so I don't need to count strokes when greasing equipment. The low pressure/high volume and high pressure/low volume is nice as well depending on what I'm greasing. Made adjusting tension on the tracks on some of my equipment a breeze. Also has a longer hose and led light compared to the M12

I just had what I believe was my second standard M12/18 combo charger fried by lightning. But plugged into the same circuit were a standalone M12 and standalone M28 and they're fine.

The first one happened at my wife's office and now this one at home.

It would seem the standard combo chargers are very sensitive. Anyone else experience this? I'm going to replace with a Rapid Charger anyway, I wonder if they're as delicate?

UPDATE: all 5 of my Rapid Chargers in the shop are fine.
