I bought them because they are stronger overall. In a real pinch I could stand on one/them if I really had to.
There is a nicer overall feel to these boxes. There is no flimsy feel at all.

I like the IP65 rating. That matters to me. If I am using a truck with an open bed and it rains or snows, I don't need to care. Yeah, DW and Ridgid are probably okay too, but I feel more confident with these.

I like the bigger wheels. They matter.

The handle feels stronger. Under load, I don't want any sort of flexing or squishy feeling and wondering if $1000+ and/or a big mess is soon to be in a heap at the bottom of the steps. That alone is nowhere near worth "saving" $100.
Lose the load one time and put it through a customer's wall or have the combination crush something valuable, what does that cost?

The padlock hole is larger and reinforced.
Yeah they will steal the box, yadda yadda...
But, I don't need the locking bar and the larger hole allows me to use the multiple existing locks I already own and are keyed how I like. The lock is there to keep your drill, other tools, or electronic components from walking off via prying fingers, or keep another person from seeing confidential things.

I think the latches are awesome.
The crack of that snap leaves no room for ambiguity as to whether it's closed or not. The DeWalt latches are thin and if you drop a box on it's front when open they are bending for sure. I don't like all that metal hanging out there.

Lastly, yeah, the compatibility and how they interlock.
(That actually was last on my list)

I think the open tote bags and small parts boxes are ridiculously over priced.
The bags seem to be well built, but geez Louise...
I might buy one bag, maybe, maybe... but I will not buy two.

I do think the set is overpriced, but I also think trucks are insanely priced for what they are these days. I would rather have a fully restored 70's truck to work out of than the aluminum foil, jacked up to the sky, electronic sh** out the wazoo I have to endure now. I also think the truck engineers/designers need a thorough beating, and be made to work out of what they push on us.
But that's for another thread.

Anyway, Ridgid was my second choice.
My cordless tools are Ridgid. I am not a Milwaukee fanboy and automatically buy things because they are red. I have the Hole Hawg and other heavy drills, but my SDS stuff is Bosch. If it's good I will buy it, and these boxes are pretty darn good. Pricey yes, but really nice.

Thank you sooo much! That was awesome! I’ll be grinning all day. Let’s both skip our meds and escape the sanitarium. I’m up for it!!!!

Finally got to play around with the pack out at HD today. I've got to own one.

Was a serious PITA to find them for some reason, several stores showed the inventory but could not be found ANYWHERE in the store. Finally got my hands on one and it's awesome. Walked out with 2 (2nd is a x-mas gift).

Perfect setup for grabbing gear to deal with b/s at the rentals.

Do you have a Farm & Fleet near you? My local HD still does not have any Packout stuff (except for the impact / drill deal in the mini organizer) but my F&F has had the full lineup of stuff for a month or two.

Just got my new 2646-20 M18 Grease Gun. Now to find a grease that won't turn it into a gooey mess when summer temps hit where I plan to store it. Any tips?

Used MILW2017 $20 off $100 on Acme to order the M12 Fuel packout special for $86 shipped after adding an inkzall. Did twice for one of each M12 tool. Of course only to increase my packout tower.

What kind of grease are you looking for?

I'm not sure of any grease gun that doesn't end up a gooey mess. I just switched my M12 grease gun tip out for a Lock-n-Lube though... boy thats an improvement.

I plan to use it for my tractor, excavator and all the pto ujoints. I did also buy a lock-n-lube. I may just need to keep it on some absorbent pads. It's tempting to get a fridge to keep it in. :)

With my M12 and M18 grease guns I've used certified labs and Schaffers and haven't had any issues. I also keep my grease in a shipping container that's reached 120+ degrees and no runoff issues

Nice review! I will not lie I am a closet (not anymore I guess) Milwaukee fan boi. However, it is hard not to argue for a single batt platform. I used to have snap on, kobalt, and hitachi that meet all my home diy needs! Sold them all off slowly and has never looked back. But a single batt platform and brushless are great step up for me! The trimmer is awesome and my most used tool.

We all become fan boys of brands that need the same battery. I was a dewalt fan, until I got ahold of my first Milwaukee Fuel tool. Sold the dewalt and now have red and black everywhere.

Got a bunch of M18 stuff, but what I’ve been doing lately is buying the different 10-in-1 screwdrivers with the long chromed power drive bits on clearance to get every bit. Have every bit now except the 2 ECX bits, as those drivers haven’t been on sale. So I contacted Milwaukee about buying those two bits & mentioned how much I like their tools & all the tools I own. They said they do sell them individually, but would send them to me no charge for being a loyal customer.

Thanks, Milwaukee. You rock!

Yep, Ridgid Gen4X to Milwaukee M18 for me. But I always liked Milwaukee power tools, just bought the Ridgid cordless based on advice and a few issues later, all red, all happy.

If you need a portable wet / dry vac, check out the Milwaukee M18. Love mine so far.

I stopped at Home Depot tonight played with the pack out and it really is better than the rigid by a mile. 199 stung a lot I’ll admit but hopefully they get more of the optional attachments in soon.

I mentioned all those same things to them and still couldn't get them to send my own SDS back to me. I'm a still a Milwaukee buyer, that was probably a fluke incident.

I have the Rigid (though not the cart) and played with the Milwaukee today. It does seem a lot nicer.

So I finally got my brother hooked on some Milwaukee stuff.

bf381d9eed58a2e259c4576ac18fce44.jpg

But he has this dewalt radio for his stackable dewalt stuff and isn’t thrilled Milwaukee doesn’t have one for the packout.

So we fixed that!

I was using my 2767 tonight to drop the hitch on my F350. It’s nearing the point where anything more powerful would benefit from an auxiliary handle. If the fastener doesn’t want to move the gun wants to slowly start rotating your hand and arm.

Sick! Where'd you get the slide latches? This beats the $30 pack aid adapters for a few tiny pieces of plastic

My milwaukee 2112-21 came in yesterday.

Also just added more to my milwaukee addiction and ordered a 2520-21XC and a 2457-20F as my free tool with it.

Edit: came home from work and my m12 heated hoodie was here and just in time for the cold weather to hit. Material felt good and looks to be high quality, I'm excited to try it out!

That Dewalt radio is light years better than the radios from ANY of the other big name cordless companies.

Its good to be friendly and get to know someone at the pro desk. I went back for the second packout and since it's been such a bear to find, she took care of me.

I think my addiction may have just started. Got this in the mail today. I’m super excited about the ratchet as I work on cars and motorcycles a lot! It’s not the fuel version but I figured a combo kit would be nice to start out with

Finally got a boot for my 2767. I never bought a boot for my 2763 and always regretted it, these things are so heavy, when you drop them they fall hard. I've been babying this thing waiting for them to release the boot. Not thrilled with the fact I had to spend $39 for it but not really any other options.

I would like to get a boot for my Fuel Ratchets and my Mid Torque as well, everything else I'm not too worried about.

Where have you guys found the best prices for a mid torque boot and/or possible the 3/8" impact boot for the right price? I know for the ratchet boots only a few places even carry them. 1998e89cd10a839f70156f51732ed170.jpg

Fuel ratchet kits came with a boot. Bare tools did not. Home Depot has both boots in stock for the ratchets.

It’s a $200 tool. If you drop it 10 times in 5 years and it breaks, buy another. I see the boot as being for pros who use their tools every day and for tool collectors who don’t really use their tools and want them to look new.

Well, considering I am a mechanic and I use this every single day I think it's justified.
