Ok so I have a mission for anyone with more patience than myself right now. Guy I work with use to own a mechanics shop, and he's trying to start up another business. He's always doing side work, and I was gonna make a cordless Milwaukee M18 convert outta him so I loaned him some stuff that he's been using for about a month now. He has my first gen high torque, first gen 3/8, the mid torque, and original m12 3/8 ratchet. He's using them on all his side work, but he's gonna try and open another shop, so I warned him that the collection agent is coming soon.. lol.. all the tools have boots on them so I'm not worried about them anyway..

So, with all the deal hunters right now, What's the best deal on a 1/2" high torque kit w/ charger and batteries for him (first gen is fine), and 3/8 impact? Anything worthwhile? I honestly just too lazy to search and I'm not up on any of the sales right now.

Home Depot has the 1st Gen High Impact with one battery, charger and case for $249. It was $229 last week for black Friday. Only has one battery but its a good deal still IMO. I almost picked one up myself.

Cut him a deal on the stuff you've loaned him. As a business, he doesn't have time to shop deals on tools.

As a Garager, your life revolves around finding deals on tools, plus you'll end up with next gen stuff.

The tire inflator is one of my most used tools! It's the main reason I've stayed on the ryobi system.

Sorta makes me mad . I have like nine M18 batteries. There is always the option of a battery adapter & running an inflator off your current M18 batteries.

Used mine yesterday I had to release a bunch of barbed end hose fittings on long runs irrigation drip lines we were disassembling so we could pick them up and store them away for the winter, And warming up the hose end made it whole lot easier to pull them apart.

IMO oes run thru batteries pretty easy though went down two bars on a 4.0 in very short time of use.

Thinking about adding the M18 Transfer Pump to my collection. We have a small farm that I primarily irrigate from a gravity fed water tank located uphill of most of the crops. I start the season with that tank holding about 1500 gallons of water that I collect throughout the winter/spring from rain barrels attached to our house, shop and wood shed. When the rain stops in the summer and I can't collect enough from those sources for our needs, I pump water from our well fed house 1500 gallon tank.

The transfer pump I normally used recently stopped working, I haven't had a chance to trouble shoot it. I sure wouldn't mind ditching the extension cords and utilizing the M18 Milwaukee pump.

Milwaukee states that it can run 240 gallons on the 5.0 battery. That'd be great if I could get that, those of you that have these pumps is that realistic? Also does the pump have any kind of a pressure switch that turns it on/off when a pressure is reached? I don't think it does, but that'd be great for feeding drip lines in one area we have...

Got my M18 Surge in June, just used it for first time, holy **** its a bada$$. Surge on medium beats M18 Fuel hex driver on high!

But M12 needs to be 3 speed. Bet it would beat M18 Fuel.

I love my transfer pump and I have used the snot out it this past Summer (And guess we will learn how long it lasts with weekly use and unfiltered water! )

It will easily moves a large volume of water and a 5.0XC is pretty sufficient. I use the 9.0 now with a 5.0 for my backup just in case I need to run longer than I anticipate or forget to top off my 9.0 overnight. I get about 45 min straight on a 9.0 to water all my plants I maintain a large seasonal horticultural operation out in the hot sun all weekend and pull water from a brook 5/8" ID garden hose in/5/8" ID garden hose out. Maybe 15ft lift and 100ft head. At least 5 gal a minute min, under those conditions.


No pressure adjustments and no speed adjustment either just open flow

Does have a dry shutoff feature

I have virtually replaced using a 3.5 HP gas pump with mine

I bought a second pump as a bare tool for a friend that a has a landscape install and maintenance business and got her the $99 twin pack orginal XC's. 3.0 She has been fine with that.

Gifted her the AC/DC charger to use in the truck. Tossed her an AC multi charger for when at home. Its simply faster.

So I have the compact 1/2 impact wrench 2755b and I noticed online Milwaukee lists 220 ft-lbs of max torque. I don't see the max nut busting torque anywhere. I know its usually more taking off a bolt/nut, just find it odd Milwaukee doesn't advertise it. I'm guessing somewhere around 300 ft-lbs? Anyone know for sure? My new mid-torque impact should be here soon, cant wait to try it out.

I had one (when I was working as a gen tech no less...) It was on par with my fluke VT02 visual thermometer. I ended up upgraded to a better fluke camera but if your just looking for dead cylinders, bad diodes and hot spots on stators it'll do a fine job I think.

Made a quick prototype of the Ryobi adapter. I don't have any Ryobi tools to test it on. Who needs one that would be willing to give me very descriptive feedback on how to tweak it if it doesn't fit proper?

I dont want the high torque due to size, but was on the fence between the 1/2" compact and the mid torque. I guess if the specs are that close between the compact 3/8 and 1/2, theres nothing really to gain from the compact 1/2 that I cant do with the 3/8 and an adapter.

It seems like the nut-busting figure is usually about 30% higher than the listed max torque, so somewhere near 300 is probably right. Although I'm not sure if the nut-busting figure really means much.

I just ordered my first Milwaukee last night and I had a similar dilemma to this. I first ordered the 3/8 impact but I realized that it really doesn't have much more torque than my impact driver so I canceled it and got the mid-torque instead.

Acme still had their brushless drill kit on sale from black friday, so I grabbed that along with the mid-torque impact and a 5.0 battery. Definitely looking forward to trying them out.

The mid torque is an awesome gun. I’d recommend getting a 2.0 compact battery and the protective boot to go with it. You don’t need a big battery with it making it heavier.
